  1. What or who is Fuher? I googled it and came up with " Hair Fuher" in the urban dictionary which is slang for the 45th President of the USA. Fuher being slang for Fu**** So was the spelling mistake Hail or Fuher ?
  2. Never thought I liked the guy and never wanted him here even when previously a possibility. Having dais that, I listened to his interview with Adrain Childs on 5 live yesterday and couldn't help but admire him and thoroughly enjoyed a fascinating interview. I loved his comment about his time as a pro footballer " I made a success of being a constant failure". And his manager at Chesterfield who roughly said " Neil, I see Sunday League players every week who have more talent and ability than you but they dont have your heart, your desire and that's why you're here and not them"
  3. Condensed version: SL deserves the credit for starting it- NP deserves the credit for playing them. End of.
  4. In the past at BCFC, the reliance on youngsters was minimal because there was no obvious ability- it was fairly shocking. This was a subject on here for years. Other clubs are not in a position to play their youth for the simple reason is that the quality is not there in abundance and quite rightly the manager has to rely on senior pros. The fact that we now have one of the best academies which continues to produce quality players is testament to the long term determination of our club to make it happen. The fact that the squad at Swansea was littered with academy players is not down to the last two years- it's down to the last decade of investment , quality facilities and coaching staff. It starts at around age 10 or less in most cases.
  5. Agreed- which is why I said he was one of our best Managers- at least during my time as a supporter but it does appear that managers can be a divisive subject.
  6. Yep- we certainly see and act differently in our alternative universes.
  7. Ultimate cop out RR. No- it's not to me so explain or face palm your night away.
  8. I think the point is you can only play what's in front of you. SC is not one of our best manager's merely because he was only successful in L1 - same for Gary J. SOD inherited a team destined for L1 with poor quality. NP didn't inherit poor quality and a very good youth progress- Scott, Semenyo, Conway, surprisingly Viner and, now, perhaps Bell?
  9. Yep- Dean did quite well considering the injury crisis and the fact that he never had the fortune of playing in BS3 in front of the fans due to Covid. He had virtually no budget- either on a par or less than NP but did better during his tenure.
  10. And Wolves, Crystal Palace, Sheffield United and Southampton- where are these now????? I am indeed comparing apples with oranges- the teams I mention are perhaps better than the teams u mention!! It's amazing how you can develope a narrative! Explain
  11. So SOD managed 1.05 points per match and NP has managed 1.15 points per match Please explain how we were battered every week under SOD but not no under NP? Their overall track record is the same - their challenges have been the same. I really am desperate for BCFC to avoid the drop and hope NP is managing to avoid this but, please, please, dont pontificate that NP is somehow deciding whether or not not BCFC is good enough for him. We are a good club and will progress with or without Nige.
  12. I think you'll find that his inability on the field was pretty much the end of him not the reluctance to play a local team in Botswana. No manager under SL has been sacked whilst doing well in the League although LJ comes closest comparative to the others- his problem was failing to make the play offs despite massive investment . I think Richard Gould's recent interview set out the BCFC position quite clearly: Driving wage bill down, staying clear of FFP breach whilst reducing all losses and now 70% of the way there, no incomings without outgoing players, and no revolution which I took as a direct reference to NP's position. As for your comment that Nige will likely stay safe unless we move into the drop zone with few games left- the time for appointing a new manager has now come and gone and sacking NP with few games left would be more symbolic than anything unless the players downed tools and there's no sign of that. NP has just a year left on his contract so we'll see what SL is thinking before too long .
  13. Whilst one half of my family have no electricity and no water for most of the day and are being relentlessly bombed then I reaffirm that russians are filth. Join me on a different forum if you want to learn the naivety and stupidity of what you post regarding Ukraine. On here, let's stick to football. Your immature and pathetic comments regarding Steve Lansdown are absolutely on the right forum so I suggest you start a thread about it and see where it gets you after your 31 posts on OTIB, particularly how his business operations are "based in the channel islands". As for financial services being unethical- try telling that to the 1.5 million UK citizens who work in it and how it's 10% of the entire UK economy. And your previous comments about people on OTIB being misguided and overly interested in the gas is, perhaps, a good subject for another...... Unless you've still got homework to do before school tomorrow.
  14. Not really the correct forum to discuss why conscripted russian soldiers are still prepared to fight and indiscriminately kill Ukrainians of all ages but there we go and I stand by my comment 100%. The problem of "dirty" money in football is not the preserve of Chelsea who are now obviously American owned but money from regimes which have truly dire human rights records such as China and the Arab world. It's also a massive reason why I hope we retain the support and ownership by local businessman Steve Lansdown. Newcastle United fans must be delighted but a quick look at Saudi Arabia's record shows that some football clubs and their fans will take success whatever the price. In this instance, a football club has given a massive donation to help the country in which it's based and that has to be a great message in the world of football.
  15. Chelsea have secured the transfer of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk for up to £89 million but Shakhtar are donating £22 million of the fee to the army, defence and families of Mariupol victims. This surely is a first for a football club giving away such a huge and vital sum to the defence of its country? I hope Mudryk does well in the Prem and that this donation by Shakhtar helps in Ukraine's brave fight against the russian filth. This football club no longer have a home stadium with games being played initially in Lviv some 800 miles away and now in Kyiv - 500 miles away with Champions League "home" matches played in Poland. I wish them well.
  16. If you need to ask the question then I can only guess that either: a) you're too young to have experienced the true Derby days b) Football is lost on you
  17. I misread the title and thought the Mods were having a day off.
  18. Very possibly but I think having been largely left out of the picture- the rise of Cameron Pring is down to the determination and ability of Cameron Pring.
  19. It's his birthday in a week- 22nd Jan and will be turn 25- in his prime yet has time on his side to get better. He's played for Merthyr , Hereford, Walsall, Cheltenham, Portsmouth, Guernsey , Newport and, of course, BCFC. He must have wondered where the hell his career was going but he fought his way back into contention through utter self conviction and hard work. A west country lad. Take a bow, Cameron Pring - I'll bet you'll sleep happy tonight.
