  1. Well done Tinnion and his academy players. Well done SL for keeping investing in youth.
  2. Semenyo : cost nuffink sold for £10 million ish possibly £15 million ish with add ons. Luverly bit of business- he was always gonna go. BCFC in a better place as a result. Every single club , unless at the top of the Prem or big name about to be promoted to the Prem, is a selling club. Some of the money will go to reducing debt, some of the money will go to adding new players. Let's see what happens next.
  3. Yep- I remember back in the late 80's going to an away game at Bournemouth. The rain was coming down horizontally so just before kick off the stewards moved us to a covered area having moved out the home fans. I thought that was class. Years later a group of Bournemouth fans came to BS3 with buckets collecting cash to help save their club from liquidation and I think BCFC fans were quite supportive. So now- we are selling our best players to this"little club" whilst we are looking over our shoulder about the "R" word. However poxy- how positions have changed. It boils my hiss that despite everything, we are where we are and the Brightons Brentfords and Bournemouth's are where they are.
  4. Signed til May. He's probably either going to be an obscure quiz question within a couple of years or cult hero. Max is doing a pretty good job and Bajic will hopefully benefit greatly from his loan and first team football so will be pushing Max harder next season. Presumably, he will move on at the end of his short term contract? Overall, a good bit of business all round- the fee for Bentley will no doubt more than cover Haikin's wages and BCFC will have got one of the clubs biggest earners off the books.
  5. Absolutely! Albeit that if my Accountant forgot to mention £14 million in my accounts - I might be a tad disappointed!
  6. Dave- quoting stuff is all well and good but surely, surely leaving out the second biggest transfer fee in our history and the biggest ever profit cannot be put down to "forgetting one"?
  7. Dave, you forgot to mention "taking advantage" of Lloyd Kelly - a largely second team/youth player. But , hey, why not let £14million (ish) get in the way of a good story? Stats is your thing so 'let's be 'aving you' !
  8. There is a fair play award. I'm not sure if a white card is just an embarrassing new virtue signalling thing yet , at the same time, sometimes true sportsmanship should be celebrated and applauded. It's sort of a good thing yet entirely cringey if awarded on the field. Perhaps in true British spirit it should be "mentioned in dispatches"?
  9. A massive point ,imo, every one counts at this end of the table and more positives on the pitch than negatives. Not sure why Naismith is quite so marmite as the team is overall better with him than without. The fact that Semenyo scores is a bonus- however fortuitous it's just another career goal that get's the draw and point..... and we need the money.
  10. @Jerseybean Lovely to hear your personal story - hope you all have a great and enjoyable time with the right result, friends for 50-60 years is special.
  11. Personally, if an offer comes in at c £11-12 million so long as there are add ons then I'd bite their knees off. SL has decided , it seems, to keep NP as manager until the end of the season or beyond so at the very least he needs a couple of new quality players. Even at £10 million up front surely this is enough to buy 1 or 2 players whilst helping to balance the books ( £5m for players & £5m for accounts)?
  12. Well- that's no skin off my ear. I think, Fordy, we're at the point in this thread where we may now be scraping the bottom of the glass and flogging a dead bird.
  13. Medium please as this will match my "Diony is a goal machine" and " Chis Martin is Bolt" t-shirt collection.
  14. It was never going to happen here, Dave. By utter coincidence in the evening after the Palace match when the 'non goal' was scored and Warnock accused GJ of being a cheat- I was at a small gathering with Steve and Maggie being there. I talked to him about the match and he clearly didnt like Colin. When I specifically asked him about that 'goal', he just said absolutely dead pan ( in reference to NW) "It couldn't have happened to a nicer person". After that, to my mind, Colin would never make Steve's manager short list. People have often said that Steve would never appoint Colin because he wasn't a 'yes man' but I think that it was simply a case that he didn't like him or perhaps could never forgive the cheat reference? I don't think an owner has to be friends with their manager or even necessarily like them but they're never going to employ someone in that position if they dislike them.
