  1. 27 pages for McCrorie 14 for Dickie 10 for Roberts I think with a bit of the rub of the green , some luck and a good wind behind us then there's every chance we can improve on our final position this season. We are where we are and I have no doubt that BT & NP are doing everything they can despite their hands tied behind their backs but I'm struggling to feel any deep excitement about these signings. Thank Eff for the Academy players otherwise it's just deja vu of equivalent signings back in the 3rd Division average team days. We need a real spark or two in the team. Much as I think that Harry Cornick has been unfairly singled out- I don't think he's more than a useful club in the bag. If Scott goes then we will be desperate to add some real creativity but as things look then we're just going to be a bang average team with some great days and some dire days but no cigar. IMO .
  2. Do you lot find it risible when I say the name Biggus Dickus? He has a wife, you know.
  3. The good think about welcoming back Ipswich, Wednesday, Southampton, Leicester and Leeds is that none of their fans will start mouthing off about it being our cup final.
  4. I won't truly believe anyone has signed until it's officially confirmed by @Robbored
  5. Due to budget constraints we don't tend to do "big" signings anymore and rely on one's for the future or the impressive academy. For me, JB is a very big signing if we get him and another step closer to one of the most home grown teams in the EFL.
  6. And there we have it. A bloke that I never wanted near BCFC has pulled a football rabbit out of the hat. Utter respect.
  7. now commonly known as a 'Jude'
  8. Not sure- he's gain a lot of valuable experience working under several different managers in one season.
  9. Another manager for Leeds and it seems like I've only just put the xmas decorations away. If Leeds had any sense they should pay Huddersfield a massive fee and get Colin in after the Reading match on Monday. It's only 38 mins via the M62 so he could be in his new office by 6p.m.
  10. I'd bet he'd be a more cracking player back at BCFC than any other team.
  11. If he can't even sit on a bench without falling off then he probably shouldn't be selected. I'm with NP on this one.
  12. Remarkable- now down to final game of the season...... At home to Reading ( unless they win or draw their game in hand v Sheffield United. This is , in Warnock's words, probably his greatest ever achievement. " It's about using what you've got" he said in a recent interview. Age 74.
  13. I think NP was brave to play him at all. Personally, I'd have wrapped him in cotton wool, told everyone he had a sniffly cold and kept him safe. I don't think we've ever had a player whose transfer fee means so much to the immediate future of BCFC. If we are to have any chance to buy the missing jigsaw pieces then the answer is in the potential £25 million. Alex Scott has already done more than enough to prove his worth to us as a player and to others as a transfer target. I'd lock him in a soft play room until he's sold.
  14. OTIB at its very best. a differing of core opinions. I love my wife so much that I wouldn't take her to either BS3 or Wetherspoons . Each to their own.
  15. Bell- can't cross, rarely scores send him on loan Cornick- a WTF? signing Max O'Leary- not good enough, need a new keeper now Weiman - best is behind him, runs and points a lot, time to move on. Wilson- didnt make it, big ego so gone in summer Williams- sick note Naismith- mistake prone, injury prone Scott- head's gone Mehmetti- hasn't caught on fire, flash in the pan Vyner- should never put on a shirt.... yes he should.... not sure...hang on.... Kalas- expensive for what he is. So that's 11 new players needed unless there's anyone I've missed?
  16. Yet for a further bit of context from Boxing Day to most recent and excluding the Cup the stats change Won 6 Drawn 8 Lost 5 It's all about how you present the figures. We are 5 points above where we were at this point last season. The season has 4 games left so let's see what SL does in the summer. The OP has said that the Semenyo money is" in the bank". That's gas type talk- we're making a huge loss and we have no idea of what SL will decide in spending to improve the team. The £25 million for Scott also appears for some to be "in the bank" but until it's done it's not done. The problems at BCFC are still there in that although much has been done to reduce the wage bills , BCFC is still making a thumping loss and are keen for new investment or a sale . FFP issues may well be behind us but , imo, it's more about the owner and his future than the manager's.
  17. There was great debate on here years ago about Bobby Reid's application and attitude ( which I thoroughly disagreed with) and why it was the reason he went to Plymouth .... then when he did really well there..... that he had found his level. Kane Wilson may or may not have a long term future at our club but I'd really like to see him in action before he's binned off. Of course none of us know the real story about a player who is sidelined but he was a huge part of the reason FGR got promoted and was the L2 player of the year and considered a real scoop for BCFC. I doubt very much that ego is the issue having been injured for virtually a whole season at a Championship club having made the step up from a tiny club in L2. Lack of confidence is more likely.
  18. Cornick- 2 in 2- that should shut the doubters up.
