  1. We'll agree to disagree. I hope you have an enjoyable incident free match today and I'm sure that our fans will willingly show the respect to your former owner during his tribute.
  2. hooligan noun a violent young troublemaker, typically one of a gang. So going back quite a few years I was having my usual pre-match pint or two at The Try Again - a really peaceful City pub when a small group of Millwall supporters burst in hit the nearest people and ran out. One was a young lad and the other was an old fella who suffered a cut above his eye. These were not "like minded people"- just people wanting to watch a game of football in peace. Hooligans pretending to support any team be it Bristol City or Millwall are, imo, absolute scum and do not deserve respect from anyone. If they want to fight then do it elsewhere and not in pretence of being a football fan. I like your history lesson but equally despise your comment regarding respect for these sub humans and NO - they are not "decent blokes".
  3. Exactly........ Whatever happened to the Lambert money?
  4. Genius transfers. Semenyo & Scott: cost us nothing Sold for £35,000,000. Sold to a Premiership bottom feeder and if either do even slightly well they'll leave within 12 months and City will benefit hugely. Win/Win
  5. Come on all......get a grip But the money's so good Just get a grip on yourself But the money's so good Just get a grip on yourself And you should know.......
  6. What Pearson could have said: " We are in delicate final talks with Bournemouth and given that there isn't huge interest in Alex- the club needs to cash in because we need the funds and the risk of missing out/AS getting a major injury like Conway, Atkinson/Benarous is greater than the benefit of keeping him another few months. We have little choice to sell our best players and hopefully we will be empowered to make some signings with such a big price agreed and we also hope that no one will try to pull our pants down on any new signings" Alternatively he could have just deflected, remained professional and just said" He's got a minor injury".
  7. I once threw my ST at David Russe in the Directors box. In my ( slightly Blackthorn) mind it skimmed about 10 rows like a frisbee and landed right by him. Trouble was that it had three games left in it. I had to embarrassingly go to the office to see if it had been handed in. It had- by someone a massive three seats away from mine who found it under his seat as he told me next home game. I always like to think that Russe had seen me do it and bunged it right back at me but I suspect that's not quite as it happened.
  8. Makes complete sense. £20 million and that Semanjo Senego Semenyo fella. Sorted.
  9. That was my point- I just used examples over insults!
  10. Ridiculous comment If we were in the relegation zone in the PL - I'd be delighted for the simple reason that we were in the PL as we never have and in absolute reality don't look like it's a serious possibility. People quote figures to suit themselves or their narrative but we are 34th in 92 . However we are 1st position in English football if you ignore the 33 clubs above us. Weird.... that makes me feel great just typing that.
  11. You're welcome Dave P.s I wish I could learn all your pointy arrows and stats as quickly . I genuinely do try but it gives me a headache like equations did at school. I understand goals for and against which seems to work for me but I have absolutely no effing clue about when a penalty is a penalty except when watching other teams on telly.
  12. Likewise stick a "very" in front of mediocre and it goes down a level. Semantics indeed.
  13. I think mediocre is only referenced as being bad as it isn't good. Football fans generally are intolerant of average and mediocre yet given background circumstances can also mean good. So- Nigel Pearson's results have been at best "mediocre". Does that tell the whole story?
  14. Yes- I do . How can average mean anything else? It's not bad - it's not good , it's mediocre and average. Good point about "decent"- I have no idea what it means generally to others. Is a decent player a good player? etc. If you follow my comments, Dave, you'll also see that I say this "bang average" is an improvement and also that Brian Tinnion and Nige's "hands are tied" in respect of transfers. People in search of a populist post and in search of likes turn my opinion into something I never said just like @lenred As you know over several seasons of chat between us- I say what I think not what I think people want to hear which ironically for me is exactly what Nige does.
  15. Thanks Tim Being jumped upon for daring to express my opinion of mid table championship mediocrity is what OTIB do these days. I couldn't care less if it's not to the populist's liking.
  16. Yeh- whatever I'm still not sharing the excitement and still think we're looking average in the championship for next season- but that's a massive improvement on three seasons of getting nervous at various points in those seasons. It's just my opinion and any view to the contrary is equally just an opinion. The results will do the talking as to what we are.
  17. And there we have it: OTIB at its finest. I didnt mention once about the position we're in but merely that I wasn't feeling the same excitement as others regarding the new signings. But hey-ho Len, don't let a good misquote get in the way of a populist post.
  18. If Scott stays then that's an entirely different scenario. My opinion on us having an average team is based on having sold Semenyo and the likely departure of Scott. The two players likely worth more than the entire squad combined. How very fascinating that there were a huge number on here last season accusing the players who are still at the club as stealing a living ( which I vocally disagreed with) and suddenly the latest unacceptable comment is suggesting we will improve on last season's position with an average team. Plenty of time for that to change but apologies if not being deeply excited about any of the new signings is offensive to some.
  19. So bang average and an improvement of this season's finish is a bleak outlook?
