  1. So that changed quickly. Within the same page of the same thread..... you are 'not going to go to BS3 whilst the reptiles are in charge' then a few comments later.... you'll 'be going when you can be asked'. blimey- there's a turn around. Some could see it as disingenuous comment to fit a narrative.. I love the bit about " come and introduce yourself" - it harks back to the days of " meet me at the back of the Dolman" when a poster was losing their argument. I thought we'd moved on.
  2. The so called reptiles are going to be in charge for some time and beyond this season. Tell us where your ST is : Stand/Block/ seat and how much you want for it now you are not going to use it? Let me guess ...... perhaps it was a rhetorical season ticket
  3. I didn't want this dismissal but it may possibly be a positive step , impossible to know either way yet - but the reaction on here is as big a circus as the dismissal. Let's see in the next few weeks how it all pans out and exactly what ongoing protests there actually are? It's very easy for people to say that they won't go to BS3 when they already don't go to BS3. Why would someone who has genuinely given up supporting City spend their time on OTIB ? As for the alleged "season ticket holders" also so say refusing to continue their support - strange no one is selling their cards on here. For the right price, they'll be takers.
  4. I find the Tins thing probably the most astounding thing in this whole circus of spleen venting nonsense. What next? Scott Murray to be deported back to Scotland for not cutting up the kit in protest? P.s it was in Yate that he got spat at whilst shopping with his Mrs.His form was off at the time.
  5. You may have had a premature potato ejaculation.
  6. We've sacked him already? This is getting beyond a joke.
  7. Can't. Too busy. 5.3 thousand posts to check.
  8. Bristol Red: Members 130 Posted November 2, 2021 Given up on a result but any chance if a shot on target? Embarrassing Blimey- you also clearly thought it was a joke of a club when we played Birmingham in 2021 when Nigel was not quite so popular with you! P.s @lenred did you see what I did there?!!
  9. Yes- it's weird how I make facts get in the way of a suspect narrative. You're next Len- it's halloween after all . Trick or treat?
  10. So Bristol City treat their Managers same or worse than Birmingham?????? Over the same period we have employed Johnson, Holden and Nige. Johnson being the longest serving in the championship at the time of sacking, Nige the second longest so I guess Deano may have a reason to feel aggrieved. Just take a look at the patience/support of Birmingham City: Gianfranco Zola Italian 14 December 2016 17 April 2017 24 2 8 14 8.3 Harry Redknapp English 18 April 2017 16 September 2017[53] 13 4 1 8 30.8 Lee Carsley † Irish 16 September 2017[53] 1 October 2017 3 1 1 1 33.3 [n] Steve Cotterill English 2 October 2017 3 March 2018[55] 27 7 5 15 25.9 [n] Garry Monk English 5 March 2018 18 June 2019 59 19 20 20 32.2 Pep Clotet Spanish 20 June 2019 8 July 2020 47 13 15 19 27.7 [f] Steve Spooner † Craig Gardner † English English 9 July 2020 30 July 2020 4 0 1 3 0.0 Aitor Karanka Spanish 31 July 2020 16 March 2021 38 8 11 19 21.1 Lee Bowyer P English 16 March 2021 2 July 2022 59 17 16 26 28.8 John Eustace English 3 July 2022 9 October 2023[91] 63 21 16 26 33.3 Wayne Rooney
  11. And you are quite bitter and angry in so many of your posts. If you find this so incredibly upsetting I just find it odd that you have managed just 235 posts on OTIB since you joined 13 years ago in 2012 and most of your posts being in the non football forum. Just in case you missed it- Nigel Pearson hasn't been the only contentious issue since 2012 . I mean ... how about O Driscoll or McInnes or even Holden and my goodness you missed a belter with Lee Johnson whilst the amazing and brilliant Steve Cotterill was worth 235 posts alone. Sorry- but it's all a bit weird from you..... IMO of course.
  12. I refer the honourable gentleman to my earlier reply
  13. (Sigh) It was an analogy. How the eff do we know whether Eustace is good or bad or better or worse than Nige before he's even appointed? It's speculation. It's bitterness. It's silly. If he has the job then he's our Manager and should have at least one game before spleen venting. IMO ( and that of James Piercy) BCFC are a very attractive club and a really great opportunity for the new man. It seems like some think the football world should shun the job in sympathy for Nige.
  14. McCrorie was an 'awful' signing. Nothing better than what we have already. What has he added to the team? Don't you just love a bit of negative speculation before someone even gets near the first team?
  15. Brilliant It's another great chant for the hard of hearing : Ron Shoelace fried a sarnie
  16. Where has this news been released other on otib? All the main outlets are silent. Surely as the late great Robbored says- " I don't believe it until it's on the OS"?
  17. Up until the last 2 weeks I had believed that Brian Tinnion has spent years scouting, building the Academy and instrumental in getting players ready for the first team and being a BCFC legend. But now I find he was just taking credit for all NP's work and is a alien reptile puppy killer. Tinnion (or should I say Mark Ashton's love child?)out.
  18. A few months back you posted something that struck a chord with me. You were walking back from the Gate after another disappointing home display and you overheard two chaps discussing why they bothered to go to matches and I believe you questioned same. You mention years of crap with or without SL. @ChippenhamRedmade some points a couple of weeks back ( 'not putting out the bunting')which were home truths to any BCFC fan in that the bad times far outweigh any good times- in fact bad times are the norm and the football club was a bit "meh". Some idiot told him to to go support the gas. To me, it was like reading my own thoughts back. I'm not in the camp that we were on the cusp of something special or a promotion but I have seen a team prepared to fight for each other and NP has to be responsible for that alone and ,for me, that was worth watching win or lose. Yet it could equally could have been just another false dawn and fizzled out. No one will ever know for sure but we'll talk about it forever or until we win something. I had a few posts with @Alessandro a week back about no longer getting too bothered about results either way. The idea of a boycott because of not having a certain manager or having a certain owner is pointless imo. For many, including on here, they will just continue not going because that's what they do. I'm with you- I'll keep going. I only ever boo the ref or opposition players but I don't have any real expectations of a golden era of Premiership football around the corner. Awful.
  19. Actually this ia a very good analogy. I think they would obviously have continued if we were flying in the top 6 but anything else was always going to end how it has. I don't think there was ever any real likelyhood of a new contract short of promotion . However, the timing is abysmal, imo, and he should have been allowed to see the season out. From an entirely speculative view point, I suspect that the relationship was already broken and the health issue also played its part on both sides. I genuinely hope Nige gets the treatment to sort these issues out and anyone who read a recent interview ( think it was a national newspaper 2-3 months back) will know that Nige puts his family and his health above all and quite rightly so.
  20. Well- someone somewhere made part of that up. He was in a lowly position trying to learn his trade and certainly was not in a position to have histrionics. The truth of the matter was that he just wasn't particularly good at his job and a pale and disappointing shadow of his father's ability and intelligence.
  21. So did they make the wrong choice in appointing Nigel? I'm not sure what the right choice of Manager is. If a Manager doesn't get us promoted then presumably it's always the wrong choice? @Jeez I agree with much you say . I think NP is rightfully credited with changing work ethic etc and I have no doubt in my mind that he also got the players playing for the shirt and despite some poor results they never stopped fighting. The amount of people who are now crediting Nige as having been responsible for clearing up the financial mess overlooks the fact that Richard Gould was behind this and Nige would often publicly state that he was not part of contractual matters and questions regarding this should be asked of others.
  22. Perhaps it may help if I can confirm that it is a certainty and fact that the following are not going to be appointed as the new BCFC Manager: Steve Cotterill Gary or Lee Johnson Dean Holden Joe Jordan Pep Guardiola Jose Mourinho Neil Warnock Sam Allardyce or the chap who used to be seen at the Avon Gorge hotel who bought 760 flats in Clifton.
  23. Perhaps if he started off carrying Buster Footman's magic sponge or polishing the boots or serving sandwiches and worked his way up then maybe he could have gained some credibility? Interestingly- your moment of falling out of love was during my second period of 'fever pitch' (the first being Joe Jordan era)- perhaps that's why we see some things from different perspectives?
