  1. Neither you nor I know whether JL said "Dad I want to be Chairman for Christmas" or "Son, I'll make you Chairman for Christmas". Either way - it was dumb dumb dumb. Although I appeared to be in a minority , I liked Colin Sexton as a Chairman- at least he worked his way up on merit . Chairman are invariably likely to be unpopular in most scenarios which don't involve honours or beeing a saviour but JL really isn't fit to wear the job.
  2. Exactly- I almost feel sorry for JL as pretty much in any universe he would not have ended up as Chairman of a significant football club. Time for change beyond just the Manager. I'm grateful for the support and money Steve has poured into our club but , jeez, he really does make it hard for himself. Edit: And us
  3. The worst decision was appointing JL as Chairman along with the Atyeo stand being for the exclusive use of away fans. The decision of sacking NP will only be the worst if relegation is the outcome and that is pure speculation. Outpouring of righteous indignation will soon dissipate after a few wins or grow after a few more losses. This is football.
  4. An 8 year old should always be allowed a point of view. However.... Following Bristol City's promotion to the Championship, Cotterill was named LMA League One Manager of the Year, having already earned Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month in September 2014 and March 2015.On 18 April 2015, Bristol City were crowned League One champions following a 0–0 draw at home to Coventry City. This made them the first club to win both the Football League Trophy and League One in the same season.
  5. Condolences to @David Brent@GrahamC@Sheltons Army@steviestevieneville You may find that BCFC rise again and it's not the end of the world. It seemed like it when Joe went to Hearts but, hey ho, onwards and upwards.
  6. He is a happy medium who gazes into crystal balls and can see himself coming.
  7. If he thought like the majority of fans- this time next year he'd be a millionaire.
  8. The problem with the Poll is , to me, glaringly obvious. 1. 24 month contract now 2. 12 month contract now 3. No contract So, all or nothing. Do I want to see NP sacked right now: NO! Do I want him to be given a new contract for 2 years : NO! ( but just not right now) How about a question- do you feel BCFC should delay a new contract whilst NP's very publicly discussed debilitating health issues are still under investigation? Do you think that NP should be offered a contract AFTER the season is all but over in order to ascertain genuine progress or otherwise after 3 seasons in charge? I didn't have the option as the poll was all or nothing so I chose nothing i.e. no. For many others it was also a staight choice between NP or no NP and they chose yes but may have voted for a wait and see approach if it were an option.
  9. It does seem to have become: Lansdown : destroyer of club Pearson : The only saviour and beyond constructive criticism. Neither are true. I remember the "I predict a riot" conversations regarding planned protests against LJ discussed on here. It ended up being a badly written bed sheet held up for a couple of minutes. OTIB can, at times , become an echo chamber of strong opinion from individuals some of whom seem to be out of step with the wider fan base- possibly because they don't actually attend matches. I do find it mildly amusing when some say 'If NP goes, I'm done with City". Unless they actually support the club by attending matches, buying merchandise or having some sort of membership then I'm not sure how they see themselves as 'supporters' and being done with City is meaningless. It's amazing how many people suddenly resurrect their support when the club are genuinely challenging for honours.
  10. Well if they come on here with their ''Lansdown isn't as bad as you say and Nige is not the only person on the entire planet who can take us forward'' narrative they can just **** off. Hang on.....
  11. so depending where you sit in the ground, you'll be listening to fans singing "Larry. How it's spider harms me" I'll join in that one.
  12. Steady on - that's an offence punishable by stoning.
  13. According to the press they totalled £30m If you have a copy of the receipt, please post it on here. Perhaps they got more but who cares- the point I made is equally valid. Birmingham are only above us in the table courtesy of the alphabet.
  14. So- here's the thing. We sold Scott for £25million and may get an uplift in the future. Imagine how a Birmingham fan feels about Bellingham. They got something around £30 million in total. He's now probably in the top three players in the world and worth , who knows, £175 million? More? ( Unbelievable match winning performance v Barca today 13 goal in 14, 3 assists) Clubs like us and Birmingham have no chance- it doesn't matter whether they go to Borussia or Bournemouth... the fact is they go and our clubs generally aren't particularly clever with the money. Their uplift seems to have been mainly spent on getting rid of Eustace for Rooney. Working out well? Pah.
  15. Each of these three players are subject to sell on clauses so I always take an interest in the forlorn hope that perhaps if one or more are sold then our Manager may get some funds to strengthen. Of course, as things stand, any such scenario appears unlikely but it doesn't prevent me or others being really interested in how they are getting on.
  16. Yes. Tinnion's goal was magnificent. The Forest match not so much. But beating Man U at our place was the best night of my supporting life in a meaningful Cup match.
  17. Yes - you're right in that I enjoyed being genuinely closer to the play offs for a couple of seasons and the best cup run and victory in my entire years of support. Thing is- we were better then than we are now. That is no dig at Nige, it's just a statistical fact.
  18. Losing 2-0 against Cardiff in our division is not honourable . It's plain horrible. Having aa injury crisis is truly unfortunate and I feel for NP but PLEASE dont try to polish a turd.
  19. Delusional You have a long term track record of negativity of all things BCFC but however good NP may or may not be - the "best ever" is completely daft and plain wrong.
