  1. A couple of earlier posts mentioned that this game wasnt really a 6 pointer but with the other scores and our great win - it's turned out that way. The gas getting beaten just reminds me there is a gap and it's just got wider. Tonight's gonna be a good good night.
  2. Just read on the Brum forum: "I'm sat opposite a Bristol City fan at a house party and if he mentions the score I'm gonna lump him one"
  3. When you find you've dug yourself a hole then it's always best to stop digging.
  4. What a truly pathetic comment. Why would any fan or supporter wish for us to fail and end up in L1 possibly even below the gas?? people might not be at all happy with what's going on at the club but the idea that a BCFC fan wants us to fail is delusional.
  5. Tight cagey and slightly drab match eventually decided by a penalty for us in the 89th minute. 1-0. I'm never wrong.
  6. It's both and has been ever thus. Unless the Mods can design a "late at night, I'm pissed and angry" or "I'm ITK but cant tell you how" filter off switch then there will always be discussions relating to both football and an 'awful' poster! Edit- just seen your post on similar Sunderland thread which appears to be about the poster: Posted 23 hours ago a newbie with one post? I smell GAS sky already have a championship game and villa v arsenal is on BT at the same time
  7. It's not quite guesswork though. TV rights are set at £2.5m per Champ club (+ up to £100k per televised home game). The EFL pay £4.5m to Championship which reduces to roughly £1.4 million in L1. The cost of relegation is therefore in hard cash Day 1 about £5.5 million which is £10million less than you state. Then there's the loss of merchandising and ticket sales but this will depend entirely on performance on the field. You quote Sheffield Wednesday as an example and they have averaged more fans at home (24,000) in L1 as a winning than when a losing team in the Championship( 21,000). So BCFC will certainly have a reduced ST income but even then with some shiny new Manager and new team - who knows? It's fact that if we play attractive football AND win then people will be scrabbling for tickets, memberships etc. Whilst I agree that some guesswork is involved, I still want you to explain how " the cost of relegation will be more than £15million" when fixed payments lost will be circa £5.5 million. What is more is that players wages will fall and most salaries will reflect our standing as a 'third division' club -AGAIN. This will lead to smaller operating costs. Best answer is for SL and Nige to get us out of the relegation fight they are both responsible for .Nige on the pitch and SL off it.
  8. Ok - so please confirm your quote and source. Wednesday received tv rights of £8 million ?????????? Just check any info and the actual figure is £2.5 million for Champ tv rights. BCFC get 20,000 in the ground at the very very best. Freebies, kids, subsidies etc make it less income than an obvious calculation of 20,000 x£ 40 but in actual fact if BCFC are top of L1 then we'll make more income than being bottom (ish) of the Championship. Whatever our league , if we have momentum then the fans will attend- however plastic. WE have about 12000 ST's and would maybe lose at the very worst 5000 if relegated . The rest is dependent on how we play and whether we are chasing promotion. Quoting SwissTony about Sunderland on twitter is utter nonsense. In any case- if Sunderland do well then 40,000 fans turn up. At BS3 we've never had more than 25000 in the new stadium. You have stated that relegation will cost our club more than £15 million yet have failed to come anywhere near close to this figure when pressed. Relegation will cost us but nowhere near your fantasy figures.
  9. The additional TV rights for Championship is about £3million more than L1. Season tickets sales will drop but if by , let's say as much as 5000 less, is about £2.5 million. Please explain to me and the rest of us where your figure "OF GREATER THAN £15 MILLION" COMES FROM????? You have stated it's more than £15 million for relegation- so please quote how this is the case.
  10. I didnt see the U21 match so have comment on how he played. What I would think and entirely imo- if he was to feature in first team action, he would give 100% but not necessarily for BCFC but to promote his own undoubted ability in order to secure the best club /wage/pay day. As an U21 player with little first team experience of late, his value is going to be pretty poor even as a free agent. If he has a few stormers in Championship matches then he can add a zero or two to his pay day but it might also help BCFC. Nige is ( in this case and you know I'm not his biggest fan) stuck between a rock and a hard place. Why should he reward a player who clearly wants away and a pay day with wider exposure but when the squad is so very thin on the ground he just overlooks a player who could possibly make a difference. Nige is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
  11. I'm pleased to be able to shed some light on this. A consortium have grouped together and are due to have high level talks at the club. They are first meeting at the Three Lions for takeover discussions and will then march directly for further discussions at Ashton Gate.
  12. Thanks for the info. Is being a sub equal to starting/full appearance? I guess so and if so then I think @frenchredhas come up with the reason that Massengo is highly unlikely to ever kick a ball in anger for BCFC again. It also , only if FACT and absolutely the case , has made it a bit more challenging for NP. Massengo wasn't exactly tearing up any trees but he was always a useful club in the bag as GJ would say.
  13. Has he really played 99 games?? Where is this intel available? If true , I wouldn't be surprised if this is a trigger.
  14. I don't believe that we are facing such an injury crisis that players should be bought or loaned in as a stop gap. The cupboard is pretty bare so NP needs to look at purely bringing the new faces to solve his long standing problems not as a result of AW or TC whose ham strings may or may not be a particular problem. He/the club has to stick with whatever plan they have. And there is no room to place any player off or under the bus without an outstanding reason. Massengo being a player in question- he clearly wants a nice pay day as a free agent- maybe back in his home country and but will likely give 100% if reselected even if it's only for himself.
  15. It's too true, I just struggle to come to terms with how bad it is.
  16. The Chelsea fans who were kept in at the end of the game ripped off the roof tiles from the shed where the big press box is now and were throwing them over to those leaving the Williams Stand. Fortunately their accuracy was similar to the Chelsea players on field.
  17. I was too young!!! I'm embarrassed to ask but what happened? I guess it must be promotion to the old L1?
  18. For me - it was Jet. He wasn't my favourite player of all time but the last player I was invested in. I decided after he left that I'd never get attached to another player and can honestly say I never have. There's not one player in our entire club that I am remotely bothered about whether they stay or go and ,sadly in more recent times, I seem happier when they go than when they arrive.
  19. For me "enjoying the Man U game" doesn't come close to my personal experience and if there is one single defining moment in my time of supporting BCFC then that was it. It was the best £35 I ever spent and don't miss the £55 million I didn't spend. That one match wasn't winning the cup or getting promotion but that night felt like it- for me. If the feeling that the ManU game was merely enjoyable then I cant think you were there.
  20. Sometimes a debate runs its course with no definitive answer at which point it's best to let it be. I've made the comments I wanted to but if you feel you have more tor new material to add then I'm very happy to read it.
