  1. I think that's not lost on anyone but we were still outplayed- it was a great win but genuinely against the run of play- like Barnsley etc
  2. It's now over 8 months since Nige took on the "project" . According to many, the problem is entirely with the squad and not the coaching. I disagree. Nigel has made it very clear what he wants from the players and has very publicly stated that he'll get rid of those who dont buy into what he's trying to do .... which seems like just about everyone. Thoughts anyone?
  3. Really? SL could be rightly accused of spending his money unwisely or of making bad decisions but accusations of not spending in support of all his sporting interests and their facilities is utter nonsense. P.s membership /support for OTIB is £5. Whose wallet is dustiest?
  4. I think there were several bad decisions regarding fitness last season ( in hindsight) but when so many players were injured it's not surprising they played him. I think the new set-up is more careful but also has slightly better options particularly with the young players stepping up.
  5. Williams signalled to the bench that he needed to come off. Given that he has really really struggled with injury since he came here, I think it would be sensible to start him on the bench at very best and then only utilise him if really necessary. Hopefully a short term decision for a long term gain.
  6. Is that Junior Bent behind him?
  7. Makes me think of the "goal that never was" against Colin's Crystal Palace. Did a monumentally bad decision by the officials to somehow miss a clear goal mean that Palace got what they really deserved. In Warnock's case I think they did.
  8. Felt and sounded better than Barnsley. Still not a good performance yet here we are- 3 points nicked from a side who are near the top. We have a team capable of competing at the right end of the table.
  9. I've studied this very carefully and I think the ball is coloured black and in the right hand side penalty area with an arrow pointed in its general location. After seasons of trying to understand stats- I'm finally getting there.
  10. ( More Clueso than Columbo) On the basis that Reading will drop us a place down if they win then I'd tend to disagree- we could benefit from a draw in this. Given that the home teams (except Cov) are within touching distance if we finally manage to win some games then draws for all keeps all the teams around us under similar negative pressure. If it wasnt for the points deductions both Derby and Reading would be above us so we'd be 20th in the League. It's come to something that having a stable ownership is worth places in any Division in the EFL.
  11. @ExiledAjax Very good post. You are right to mention that I judge what I see . I tend to look at the overall numbers ( i.e. 7 in 33) than the underlying ones to assess my personal perception of progress or lack of it. I think part of my issue is the fact I go to most home games and I've just been deeply disappointed in virtually every match I've been to since the stadium re-opened after lock down. Even after the euphoria I felt at the end of the Barnsley game and after I had calmed down with no voice left- I just figured we were very very fortunate to come away with a win. The Coventry match ( I wasn't there fortunately) just pretty much finished off what little faith I had in the current coaching staff. If results and performances change then no doubt my opinion will too.
  12. and what specifically were the the results of the next 11 games after 7th March? Total after 33? I have chosen to quote the results from the whole of NP's tenure whilst you have chosen the worst period of a previous manager using less matches. If you want to make a valid point then do so using like for like. I see the second half of matches being a bit rough on us all There speaks someone who cannot be a true supporter if that's really how your mind works- Anyone who would like to City lose matches to prove some point on an anonymous forum cannot be a supporter. I have formed an opinion on NP and if results change then so will my opinion. From you, the master of vitriol ??? Hahaha! It's all about opinions and I look at BCFC and its owners and historic investment combined with the facilities and don't see the same mess you do- I see it at Reading and Derby. I look at the squad and see enough potential and current ability to stay well clear of relegation. I do hold a Manager responsible if his team is capable of delivering but consistently don't. I dont dislike NP, I dont find him too short or too fat or whatever the often used terms on this forum are when someone is not performing or are a scape goat. On a forum we are all entitled to opinions. Mine is different to yours and ongoing results will no doubt be the proof of the pudding either way. If NP turns it all around then I'll certainly change my opinion which is usual in the fickle world of football. Meanwhile, I'll carry on going to matches and vocally supporting this team and manager saving my frustrations for this anonymous forum.
  13. In your hurry to join the band wagon of "how very dare you criticise Pearson" you tripped over yourself. In an answer to Davefevs, I said money was the reason NP had been given latitude- i.e. to change him would cost SL another small fortune which he clearly doesnt want to spend on anything atm- he's looking for investment not expenditure.
  14. An improvement on NP's results last season. A clear indication of gradual improvement. A position in the division where we are not praying for points deductions to other teams to make us safe. Derby would be 2 points behind us with a game in hand. Let's just see how 'the understanding of context ' continues shall we?
  15. You do realise we drew? Good first half then same old same old. A swallow during a snow storm does not make a summer. I have and the answer is money.IMO.
  16. 33 games and 7 wins. Never in the history of BCFC has a manager been given such latitude for such appallingly consistent performances combined with actual results.IMO.
  17. No we do not , we all know deep down that if we keep telling ourselves that we will definitely lose whist secretly believing that we could very well win then we will be less gutted when we do indeed lose.
  18. Annoyingly the only time I became aware of any rumours was only after the thread was withdrawn and I read the Mod's warnings so I haven't a clue what they were but can make an educated guess based on otib protocol. I doubt there has been so much smoke without some sort of fire but I dont care if he's been out dog walking with Darrell Clarke or partying in Flint spirit so long as he is taking BCFC in the right direction. 7 wins in 32 matches is long enough to give me the general opinion that he , for whatever reason, is not delivering and when you sack your main coaching staff, continue to play increasingly badly and then publicly state you are going to get rid of (sack) a number of the first team then it just confirms that he is less the solution but more part of the problem. IMO.
  19. Cheers- thought so but just needed your confirmation.
  20. @BigTone- any chance of a condensed version please?
  21. Not meaning to be flippant but formation and starting 11 mean nothing if they don't follow instructions , ball watch and stand off. The starting 11 should be those who are up for the fight and proud to wear the shirt and I'm really sad to say that I cant pick 11 players who qualify.
