You guess right If a developer decides not to offer affordable housing on a new development then there are huge penalties in that you have to pay an enormous surcharge to BCC for an infrastructure levy which goes towards schools/hospitals/affordable housing etc. It's not the actions of a greedy developer - it's the actions of someone who has a vision on a particular development who feels that it's better to pay the penalty than mix in social housing to a particular development. But, hey, you have your polarised opinion on Steve Lansdown and facts are unlikely to change this. Personally, having grown up in Broadwalk Knowle and then Whitchurch Lane next to Hartcliffe, I can understand if someone is spending serious money to live in BS3 ( the new sort of Redland) then they really wouldn't want to be in a mixed development with social housing. That doesnt make it right- it just makes it a fact. Same as a dozen NIMBYS preventing a new stadium on their village green in Ashton Vale. -

I already did but sadly spelt it aquaduct. A typo of course- that or I blame my branding team. -

Apart from roads, aquaducts, new stadium, mopping up huge losses, investing enormous amounts of money for sport in Bristol- what have the Lansdowns ever done for us? -

If its still mainly the same people, it's more Hip- Op waiting list than anything else these days.

I loved the prawn and avocado sandwiches served on it - best advice is to get your food order in asap prior to your journey otherwise you'll just be left with the vintage crunchy cheddar with west country ham on granary which was never as popular.

No- I just think this one should hang around for a while.... -
Correct- and they also had the drummer ( Pete Howard) from Eat, a Bath band so there was a real West Country connection in Joe Strummer's Clash Mk II.

I couldn't bear to part with mine- the 101ers, Gang of 4, Members, Skids, Eater, X-ray Spex as well as all the better known usual suspects. My fave is still Bristol's own Cortinas whose 'Fascist Dictator ' was penned in readiness for Mark Ashton although I never heard it sung at the Gate.

I am hoping you still have this important historic collection? Blimey you must be either really young or Pontefract was a truly dodgy area in those days. If anyone nicked anything or @Major Isewaterhelped himself to the pic n' mix ( positioned between the paint pots and ladies tights), it was always the Manager chasing the kids down the street as his biros flew from his white shirt top pocket. P.s- Fry's Turkish Delight- I can still remember the advert with the "Arabian style Turkish babe"- it made it look like something worth nicking . The sad reality is that previous pies at BS3 were Michelin star in comparison.

Did they sell Turkish delight?

Exceptional talents do not stay at our club or any other club when massive opportunity ( in all its forms) comes knocking. The transfer fee potential could be a game changer for NP if he actually gets any of it. Comments that BCFC would be in some way negligent by failing to get him to sign a new contract demonstrates a failure to understand how football works.

it's the totally random goods next to each other in no particular order or logic that made it less about shopping and more about an adventure and if you ever found what you were looking for it sort of felt like you were the Indiana Jones of the shopping world.

Really7- when the hell did that happen? Gutted.

Do the media generally dislike us?
Marina's Rolls Royce replied to Bcfc3660's topic in Football Chat
Yep- pretty much. Occasionally there's a little bit of condescending humour about us. Yet our time may well still come. I bet you remember how , in the past, our new signings and even the occasional journo described BCFC as a 'sleeping giant'. No one has said that in ages- we are not a giant and never will be but we are are still sleeping. -

Eventually our performances will stretch into injury time. Disappointing obviously but no need for any toys to leave the pram. -
