  1. But what it means in reality is: If WAQ/DS can find a new buyer (good luck with that), the selling price will be £10m+ which if it is achieved will enable WAQ/DS to walk away without having paid a penny from their own pockets for period of their ownership of the 15ers. The new owner will have to take on the ever rising debt as well as the "asset" that is the Memorial Stadium. They'll also have to be prepared to invest £50m to build a brand new, world class stadium comprising 27,501 seats to satisfy the 8,200 faithful and true. If WAQ/DS can't find a buyer, either WAQ/DS decide to benevolently fund the 15ers long into the future (because that's what hard-nosed investment bankers like to do) the selling price will rise, in line with the incurred losses (unlikely) or WAQ/DS will have to take action to prevent further losses (administration). From the outside, this seems to be the most likely outcome. Personally, I think that the only way out of this for the 15ers is for the supporters to galvanise themselves and persuade HG to sell his business to buy the club and its ground, probably from the Administrator in order to get the best price. Any prospect of redeveloping the ground or building a new one disappear in the scenario although expect to see crowdfunding efforts start in 2018.
  2. ... but a sinking ship, on the other hand ...
  3. In Horfield Wael mutters "Curses, foiled again" then resolves that on Monday, he'll check whether the Darlington ground is still unused?
  4. Sat in his executive white, plastic chair in Horfield, having learned of the availability of an unused football stadium in Switzerland, Wael quietly sings "Bonsoir Irene, je vous verrai dans mes rêves" while considering the possibility of Geneva Rovers competing in EFL League One.
  5. Fictional? How very dare you. Kylie won't be at all happy when she gets back tonight.
  6. Countdown (yes, I was careful to spell it correctly) with Dopey: "Going to Scunthorpe at the best of times is difficult; after our recent run, going there on Sat'day is gonna be difficulter".
  7. Ahem, EFL League 9 as I'm sure that it will be renamed in North Bristol.
  8. Didn't he say that in the build up to the Notts County game, Netty? That's the football manager equivalent of sticking a book down your trousers to prepare from any pain which may follow.
  9. Is this standard business practice for the gas these days and does it explain rumours of them paying on the slate?
  10. Just watching the FA Cup draw for the second round. Anyone know which number is the 15ers?
  11. Is he on a witness protection programme?
  12. I laughed out loud as I looked around our great stadium while the Cardiff supporters sang "You're just a shit Bristol Rovers". If they'd been there recently, they'd know that there already is a shit Bristol Rovers and that any comparison (apart, of course from the Championship ready sprinklers) most certainly doesn't apply to us.
  13. Nothing to see here. It's an entirely truthful and correct statement from the 15ers (for once). Notts County ARE in a fine vein of form at present and the televised first round game (between Hyde United and MK Dons) will no doubt entertain the audience.
  14. The article is over 12 months old. No doubt he feels differently now. His brother told him he does.
  15. League One isn't that bad Aiz. They still stay away though.
  16. @bert tann how would such a philanthropic gesture by the "tax dodger, Mr Pantsdown" as your supporters refer to him, be viewed by them? As their white knight? Their hero? Can't see that myself? To them, he'll always be a gurt Ted. How would it be viewed by us? Generally, I'd have thought we'd be disappointed, angry and incredulous. There is zero benefit to us in Rovers staying alive, perhaps even thriving. How would we feel if one day, following such a gesture, the 'gap' were to be eradicated? Very not happy, I'd suggest. The overriding problem, Bert is that Rovers are always there with their hand out. "Give us a stadium, a training ground, an academy, a transfer pot, some flushing toilets" ... the list just goes on. Your lot don't want to earn their dues; they just want things handed to them on a plate. It's always been that way and always will be. The only way I'd support your 'bundesliga' suggestion is if the Rovers applied to.play in it. I suspect that I won't be alone in my views.
  17. They'll have to do more than throw a tennis ball onto the pitch, in protest.
  18. 225 MK fans and Teds meaning they contributed just 8,476.
