  3. [In your best Peter O'Sullivan voice] "... and it's Bristol Rovers, coming up on the outside roared on by a huge following ..."
  4. Accountant: "Mr Gas, you're in the red" HG: "**** off. I ain't no ted""
  5. If he thinks that the Gas aren't in financial trouble yet City are then I can't imagine what state his business accounts are in.
  6. I am lucky enough to have worked in football for the last 10 years. My journey has taken me from Portsmouth FC where I started as an intern, working in every department before settling in the marketing department in a full-time role. During my four years at the club we experienced two relegations, two administrations and an FA Cup Final. The highlight of my time at the club was receiving the Family Club of the Year award in 2012. This achievement marked a stark change from the clubs failure to achieve the Football League’s family Excellence standard just a year earlier. Tasked with improving this area I set about changing the ethos of the club to put the fan at the heart and improve the match day experience. This resulted in an increase in season ticket holders for the 2012-13 season despite relegation to League One. The experience gained here stood me in good stead for my future career. At Cardiff, in the first year, my team increased matchday hospitality revenue by over 200% from the previous season as well as leading us to the 2013 Family Club of the year Award. One area that received particular praise has been our new Away Fan Strategy which was recently featured in the Independant: http://tinyurl.com/nuhym5u In addition to this I was awarded the Star of the Future Award at the 2013 Football Hospitality Awards. I then moved to Brighton & Hove Albion as Head of Marketing where I was responsible for our sales strategies for all club commercial channels including ticketing, commercial, retail and non-matchday events. In 2015, I received the Rising Star Award at the Stadium Business Awards in Barcelona and in 2016 I was part of the inaugural Sports Industry Next Gen programme with honours. With the latter I am on a leadership programme in partnership with Barclays. I am now currently Commercial Director at Bristol Rovers Football Club, responsible for all of the clubs revenue streams. So far, I've performed seemingly impossible tasks like getting fat people eating pies.
  7. They asked one guy to sample a red onion sausage roll and asked him what he thought. "It's very ... um ... oniony" he spluttered, sending crumbs all over the newly cleaned carpet whilst inventing a new nounjective.
  8. It suggests to me that their owner is a bank not Wael - he's just the bank's manager. The bank was persuaded to invest based upon the potential for a quick and handsome profit which never transpired. Now they're left working out their exit strategy. Your opening comment is so very true, Eddie "banks just want their interest and the loan repaid". How they achieve that will be keeping them awake during home matches.
  9. NURSE! Bill's on the computer again ...
  10. Secured with interest, though. They're not a charidee, mate.
  11. If only there was a suggestion box suggesting ways to get out of this sticky situation.
  12. Looks to me as though the patio chair may have been in the ownership of Bristol Rowers before being pirated to the tented village.
  13. (Henbury Gas rubs hands together with glee ...)
  14. 9,879 (1,291 away). 8588 home supporters. They need a bigger ground, you know.
  15. I don't think that anyone's suggested that DC shags dogs, Bert. Unless you know something that we don't?
  16. Well, she certainly knows when I am ...
  17. But that has a sloping roof, guttering and a drainpipe.
  18. We would need the opinion of one such as @RaspberryRed on its overall suitability but to me the line of sight to both left and right looks obstructed for a wheelchair user?
  19. I don't suppose that the cover could be canvas?
