  1. They were going to build a supermarket on it, so I don't this that's the case.
  2. Exactly. Plymouth would be a much better opportunity for someone wanted to invest and develop. Massive catchment area, especially with Cornwall being under represented in the professional game.
  3. Hadn't heard the previous board were still owned coins, so that would stack up. The whole Jordanian ownership thing increasingly looks like (as has been called out on here for a long time), a property deal gone very bad.
  4. No, that's fine! And I would rather be clear that what I have heard is little more than speculation from concerned Fewers, rather than something anyone I know who is close to any negotiations (even if they are fictitious). The one suggesting moderate playing investment was very much labouring the thought that if funds are allocated to training and stadium facilities, they would want/expect a team that as championship ready for the new facilities. Haven't heard the 'Mem for housing' thing mentioned (yet). But who knows where the people giving me their knowledge are getting their info from.
  5. None whatsoever from me (in terms of being in the know, these were pub conversations). Two suggestions from different people were made. 1/ A group of American based people are interested, but Wally wants to keep a fairly significant percentage. 2/ A combined takeover, of both local and American money could be involved, with the intention of constructing new facilities and investing 'moderate' amounts to build for the future, but they would be looking for the entire Dwayne Sport holding. The people telling me this are not (as far I as know), close to the club aside from being supporters, could be they know stuff, could be wishful thinking. Guess it's a case of wait and see.
  6. Sadly, The Cat and Wheel doesn't have a link to conversations. Which is a real shame.
  7. Either that, or he just hates the Gas.
  8. Surely if that were true, the correct message to relay would be.... CHAMPIONSHIP READY sprinkler malfunction.
  9. Murmurings at the Mem that Wally is getting the hump with some supporters and issuing letters to those with the audacity to speculate openly about investment and takeovers.
  10. The queue for those locked out gets longer and longer!
  11. Can't see them moving the Horse Of The Year show from Olympia though. There won't be enough vets in the South West to cope.
  12. A stadium would have to be a separate structure. No way could they have the fewers done by 5pm on a Saturday and then get it ready for Bucks Fizz to play their hits at 8pm.
  13. Would imagine it to be a new build rather than tarting up a plane-shed. If they are just going to spruce up a hangar, then you would think it would be cheaper.
  14. Any excuse to wear your favourite red and white, eh.
  15. Pretty sure the Gap is now old enough to drive and drink*. *But not at the same time, the Gap is a responsible one.
  16. Can't imagine that with their track record of stadium fires, they would ever get insurance for a thatched roof.
  17. The Duke of Guernsey? Meet the Dukes Of Haphazard.
  18. Might be wrong, but I thought we were liquidated in 82 and never went in to administration?
  19. True that. Mind you, they are on holiday at the moment and have asked Elvis to put their bins out.
  20. Would depend on the break clauses in his contract and what was agreed when it was signed. Given the leaks surrounding the Snake and his release clause, I don't for one moment imagine they have put too much thought to it.
