You would have thought it was more transmissable but, how come City have had more cases than Bristol?  Training grounds about 400 metres apart.  Twice as many rugby players playing a game that as you say involves more close contact.

It's not necessarily the game, its behaviours away from it .  The celebration on the pitch is a clear indication that they aren't taking the rules seriously all the time.

Fair play to Harry Kane last night making a point of not allowing close celebrations in the team.  Proper leadership clearly lacking at most clubs.

There have been instances in Rugby (I can't remember whether it was Sale or Harlequins) where 15+ players in the same squad have caught it. You mention Harry Kane, James Madison also came up with a celebration that kept his teammates at arms length...........and Antonio did a backstroke that nobody wanted to get near!!

58 seconds in - comedy defending at it's finest.

    Unbelievable Jeff!

Not that anyone on here is complaining but I bet everyone is blaming the keeper for that when it's 100% the defender's ball to deal with. He actually left it..........as you say it's pure comedy.

To be fair, at least they've produced a calendar this year... ?

What a club. Fans crammed in the car parks, supporters of other clubs the whole country over love them as their second team and not only that but they have produced a Calendar that can’t even spell their own centre forwards name correctly at Christmas. Light years ahead of us...........?

  4. Talking about "yoof" whilst our U18 lads gained a hard fought away win at the City Ground in the 1st Round proper of the FA Youth Cup it was very unfortunate for the Gas Yoof that they had a much tougher assignment finally succumbing 3-2..............................................at Home to Camberley Town (they needed Extra Time to beat Weston Super Mare in the previous round but clearly found the swamp more to their liking) who are now one more win away from playing Liverpool!!

I still remember some two bob coach up there who put himself in lights and boasted in the media that Rovers had the best players in every age group in Bristol only a few years back, this lot who lost to Camberley would have been one of the younger age groups at the time and, as standard, the buck toothed gappers lapped it up and told us they were coming for us and overtaking us and everything else they have been telling us for over 20 years now.................whereas we kept our mouths shut, played then sold Lloyd Kelly for £13m (that's probably 3-4 times the combined value of every single senior and youth player at their club right now maybe more?) and have the likes of Zak Vyner becoming an established Championship footballer and Opi Edwards, Ryley Towler and Sam Bell on our bench with many more out on loan at other football league clubs or sold to other football league clubs.

Problem these days, is that whereas previously they were one of a few clubs looking in non-league, loads of clubs have scouting networks and salary budgets that allow them to hoover up the best of the later developers and can pay transfer fees a lot of League One and Two clubs can only dream of.

Pretty sure we spent quite a bit on Bakinson and Hinds when they were non league.

The Fewers paid over £50K for Ryan Jones of Weston Super Mare a couple of months back as it happens which surprised me and Peterborough were prepared to pay a lot more.

    They never slate their gaffer:

Oh please. Two games in and you want his throat. Grow some balls and back the guy. He has to go with what he has available and only two games in is still finding his feet. Moan after 20 games.

Our lot were moaning about a 3-0 loss BEFORE the bloody game last night so we can’t really talk on that one?

That's a whole new level of ineptitude. If a player missed that on a Sunday morning parks game he'd get filled in in the bar afterwards.

He almost didn't want to score.  And then to pull his frigigng socks up when the balls still in the penalty/danger area....

That's the bit that would get you filled in after the game!! Everyone has missed a sitter in their time, some worse than the one missed by the Few last night, but for a "pro" to react like that afterwards is one of the single most unprofessional acts I have ever seen on a football pitch..........what was he thinking? Ok, so you've missed the easiest chance of your pro career BUT with the ball bouncing everywhere you immediately get stuck in and try and make up for it second time round not wait 3 seconds until your hair is in place and socks nicely turned up. That was literally Under 6/7 football right there and I know if it was my managerial career potentially being ruined by players acting like that they wouldn't be lasting long in any squad of mine.

Apparently the player in question is a midfield player as they have no fit forwards atm but that is completely irrelevant in this case.......you could stick a GOALKEEPER up front and they would know better than to react to a bad miss like that.

After the first guy shoots, instead of following up, he seems to decide to pull his socks up - incredible

That was the worst bit. If he follows up instead of contemplating how his football career has come to this he probably gets another chance to miss an open goal..............

Wigan really are abysmal due to having no money and selling every half decent player they had and a draw up there is a terrible result for the Few.
