It sounds like you are still kidding yourself, somewhat.
You have arguably THE worst, if not then certainly one of the worst grounds in the football league. Understandable, seeing as you were non league only 2 years ago..!
Money hasn’t been “reigned in” it’s been non existent since their take over.
Finiancial climates in the Middle East have nothing to do with their lack of input and everything to do with being lumbered with a club that has no longer has any prospect of a new stadium, very little by way of facility or infrastructure, a low level support base (historically & currently) a squad with very little value or player asset and, overall, a club that is losing money hand over fist on a monthly basis, with absolutely no strategy of rectifying the situation, let alone progressing.
Would you be ploughing money into a failing business, with no business plan, no assets and very little stock..?
Not to mention the local competition, which is thriving and able to attract the vast majority of local support and financial backing.
It would be like taking over the delapidated local corner shop, after Waitrose have just opened a new mega store next door..!
You’re forgetting it’s all about evolution! Their fans don’t want instant success apparently, they are happy to slowly evolve. Unfortunately for them they are evolving slower than life on earth!

Mags looks weak, unconfident, bad touch, bad positioning, not good. To be fair Cardiff don’t look that dangerous, tight game though could go either way

Đurić sub changed the performance again like Tuesday, hope he gets up to full fitness to start! COYR!

I think any thread on here is only ever a few comments away from a Life of Brian quote, which I like

Wally must be posting on asschat now! Pass around the begging bowl
A message to the Fan's directors. Could it be feasible to have a means of donating to a fund so that Supporters may have a specific goal of assisting the re-development of the Mem. Those of us who live away from Bristol or who are just not able to attend games may wish to donate.
Older Supporters may well remember the times when a large bin was carried around The Greyhound track so that the crowd could throw coins into. I don't remember who benefitted from this money and I don't propose the same method should be employed today, however, Electronic deposit terminals could be installed at convenient locations around the ground to accept cash and this could be linked to a running total display for all to see. Regular or variable donations could be carried out from individual 's bank accounts at any time. The fund would have to be protected to ensure it served its purpose
My oh my!
If you were generous (and for ease of maths) and said they get 10,000 every home game, and all 10,000 donated £1 to the cause, that would be £10,000 per match, 23 league home games gives you £230,000 a season.
To fund the £45m rebuild we have just had using this funding method would, by my maths, take 195 seasons, by which point we will be flying about on hover boards, up to our ears in flux capacitors and the cost of the build will be 45,000,000,000,000,000!
Crack on boys!

I went to a charity night tonight for St Peters Hospice, they had a signed Rovers shirt in an auction, I shouted out 10p to start the bidding (which is too much IMO), and got a load of angry looks! I had to point out it was a joke!

Some bloke put it on Twitter. It was hardly on the front pages of the national press.
By setting a deadline they knew it would go one of two ways I.e. Deal or No Deal, therefore surely you have a plan for both, and contingency for worst case scenario, the leak is irrelevant, you should plan for the worst, but this seems like a growing theme with Wael

What blows my mind is Rovers fans still sticking up for Wael, he must have known the deadline that they set with UWE, he would have known when the deadline was set that it was going to get pulled, it was just a formality, so therefore he must have known that the proverbial was going to hit the fan, and he still went on holiday, or decided to go on holiday so he wasn't here to take questions, either way it's very very poor from Wael and he looks like a massive bottler. And to cap it all they put that joker Hamer out in the media and he has an absolute Teresa May! Yet still some Rovers fans stick up for him and think it's part of some master plan! It literally blows my mind how some can stay loyal

I would be very worried if I was a Rovers fan having watched that Hamer interview, sounded as though he had little or no idea about anything that went on, he says 'I Think' a lot but can't back anything up. He didn't know why Rovers put their own self inforced deadline on the negotiations, he didn't know why the deadline wasn't met by UWE, or explain why UWE still seem keen but Rovers pulled out? His interview posed more questions that answers!
When asked about upgrading the Mem, he says something like we want to improve wherever Rovers play, which would send alarm bells that the Mem is at risk and they could be going elsewhere

Quite surprised reading GasChat, not one of them wanted the UWE to happen really and this is great news all round!

437 pages and counting,a massive thread about my club bristol rovers!
What a funny backhanded compliment that is,with no equivalent on the gaschat rovers forum and when i quickly looked on forums of other local rivals like liverpool/everton i simply couldnt find anything quite like this.
" only one team in bristol" except we like to talk non stop everyday about bristol rovers and we read their forum and quote it word for word on here almost as if there were in fact 2 teams in bristol, weird!!
Some post about rovers virtually everyday on here it seems?
Maybe its the relegation haunted faces you clearly see on you city fans faces as you prepare for yet another battle against the drop despite spending god only knows how much money on under performing players or perhaps its the spectre of bristol rovers amazing progress under darrell clarke that has brought this rovers obsessed forum to produce this strange thread?
Not sure, you tell me but its hilarious so please keep on posting and thanks for the interest in my wonderful club.
The irony of this post is off the scale!

A voice of reason (Kingswood Polak) and then comes the put downs (Icegas and Harvey Specter); http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/10152/bigger-club-bristol-city?page=5 a thread about will they ever be bigger than City.
Regardless of who bankrolled, their infrastructure is a country mile ahead of ours. Their academy is already producing and their PR and media are so far ahead it would take us a number of years to just equal that. I've been going since 68 and, the 1982 debacle apart, they have always had bigger support and the sale of ST's alone puts us way in their looming shadow
Just the facts mamSorry, that's complete crap.I would happily stay in the shadow if it meant we didn't lose our identity and become a plastic club with a plastic fanbase and ownership as they have. What's all this plastic nonsense I hear regularly? If you were a plastic fan you wouldn't be supporting us, you'd go to Man Utd, Chelsea etc etc, utter nonsense

Get in, attendance figure is up to 50k now. Someone should start a sweep stake to guess when that figure will be higher than the capacity of Wembley,
Why do they persist in waxing lyrical about how many they take to Wembley, how many they took to Chelsea in the cup, and any away attendance in general, whilst patting each other on the back, when it only highlights how little support they get for their home games? If I was them I'd be slamming the fair weather fans as they should be selling out every home game, not averaging 9k or whatever it is

If we stay in the division it is despite the coach not because of him IMO.
I can only respect an opinion when they don't post simples at the end!
