  1. Club gives you your first chance in management Despite nobody ever having heard of you before

You do very well saving club from relegation by finding an out of form striker and getting him to score

The next season with no money at all you get club to 4th in league after best away win in years

You then leave to join a club struggling in league below who also happen to be the same club that relegated your current club to non league

You’ve got to hand it to GC, he has properly dumped on Rovers big time ??????

An amazing rant from Craggo, first class:

My favourite opinion from his list is that Liverpool deserved to win the league last year because they lost only once!  Brilliant.

I’m not sure Craggo should be allowed to post on Internet forums to be honest!

The thing is what this numpty doesn’t realise is, the following players will be sold for significant profit to what we paid.

    DaSilva

    Nagy

    Brownhill

    Moore

    Massengo

Our business model is sell at a profit, and at the minute we’re very good at it

They think we just happened to get lucky and have sold players for profit, instead of understanding that the long term plan has always been to develop either homegrown players or young players purchased and to sell them for profit.  This long term plan is deliberate and the infrastructure was put in to accomplish this plan, and it’s now paying dividends.  We are developing as a team, as a club, competing above our weight, and it’s all part of the plan.

  4. They are getting very excited over on Gaschat about our finances, usually they love that we lost money, now that we haven’t it’s because of some lucky sales of players.

But this was the biggest Gem I saw!

Big fish?  Really?  Worst ground in League 1 by some distance, 11th on average attendances this season behind Peterborough, Doncaster, Lincoln, MK, Rotherham and Blackpool!

    The cheek!

  5. They just can’t help themselves, he says that they (City) get over 15,000 (its actually over 20,000) and Rovers get under 10,000 (it’s actually under 8,000) so the gap is actually 12,000 on an average home game, not 5,000 as implied in order to give the impression that there’s not much in it

  6. I posted an opinion yesterday on my experience of political correctness which ironically has been taken by many as being politically incorrect, which was not the intention.

This thread has a higher purpose, which is mocking Bristol Rovers, and any other subject matter (especially politics) should be banned.

Apologies for going off topic and if I offended any white British males....and those with weight issues....now COYR

I honestly do not see what the difference is. If singing "I see you holding hands" is classed as homophobic and offensive why the hell is calling someone a fat ***** not? If I am ill informed then please educate me because I really do not see how one is ok and the other is not.

Because fat people have a choice about being fat, eat more than you burn off then you put on weight, it’s simple science.

People can’t choose to be or not to be gay, that’s the difference.

If you are on about whether a chant against fat people is nice or not then yeh I agree, probs not nice for a fat person getting sung at, but they have a choice.

That’s the point though, all homophobic chants are aimed at gay people in the population. It’s the same for race or disability. Surely it’s not difficult to see the difference between chanting on these lines when compared with being fat etc.

And yes, the holding hands chant is obviously homophobic. It’s also cringeful to hear.

Whether the Brighton fans were offended is irrelevant.

100% correct, you can’t compare singing songs about fat people to singing songs about gay people, a ridiculous and ill informed comment.

The offence caused or not caused is irrelevant as you say, it’s the song intent that matters

no City fan of sane mind would even give them the skidders in their underpants, let alone cash.  I’m usually all for giving something to those less fortunate but there is a line to be drawn as far as that rancid club are concerned

I’d go to put the change in their pot then at the last minute chuck it on the floor nonchalantly and watch them scrabble around on all fours, wearing stinky rags, gathering up the coppers with their dirty unwashed hands whilst saying “thanks guv’nor”

Just cutting and pasting the whole article in case it disappears:

    Big Screen Update

Bristol Rovers are disappointed to announce that there has been a further delay to the installation of the big screen at the Memorial Stadium, meaning it will not be in operation for tomorrow’s game.

As previously stated the club purchased the new 30sqm screen in July last year from Stadia Solutions, a leading international sports and entertainment agency that specialises in fully managed technology and media platforms, with the aim of having the screen installed next to the Brunel sponsored South Stand by the end of 2018.

Although the screen was delivered on time in October, due to its size a special bespoke support structure was required to attach the screen to the current steelworks at the stadium. Unfortunately, the unique nature of this structure led to various complications with Stadia Solutions’ sub-contractor, resulting in subsequent delays with installation.

Work started this week , ahead of the new proposed completion date of this weekend. However, the contractors have experienced further unforeseen issues on site which has delayed installation slightly. The team has been working tirelessly to fix the problems encountered but unfortunately screen will not be installed and operational in time for tomorrow’s game which is hugely disappointing. Work will continue next week and completed as soon as it possible.

We apologise for the further inconvenience and would like to thank all supporters and screen sponsor Brunel Professions for their continued patience.

When your new tv screen is nowhere to be seen that’s the Rovers!
