  1. Not sure where that figures come from but surely he's not spent 240m of his own money on City, as a club we have also generated income over that time period? 100m in transfer fees in from Scott, Kelly, Semenyo, Webster, Kodjia, Reid, Bryan and Flint since we've been back in the Championship alone Unless that 240m is just the losses we've made since he's been in charge?
  2. The line that came out in the summer was that the players we were buying were to play with Alex Scott. Well he's gone now so where's the replacement. I don't for a second believe that there wasn't a plan between Nige and Tinns for how do we replace Scott. Have the goalposts been moved?
  3. I wonder how many games SL and JL watch between them. Neither live in the country. If it is the case that interest is dwindling then we potentially have a board who are looking at things purely on figures and have no idea what the club needs on the pitch. This is purely speculation on my part but I'd be surprised if either of them watch every game on Robins TV or otherwise.
  4. Completely agree. Sounded very peeved in the post match interview when asked about incomings. This guys done all of the donkey work, essentially fixed our FFP issues while keeping us in the division - only to be told having sold his best players, that he can't replace them. I don't think SL likes him, he's never given him the praise he deserves. Watch the next manager get the keys to the golden chest
  5. Didn't most of our young players end out on loan? Kelly being the exception

    XG?

It's just another stat pulled out of someone's ass as an indicator of 'good performance' despite losing.
  7. How come this isn't on Robins Tv? I thought only Saturday 3pm games were unavailable?
  8. You'd think the club would rather see kids walking around Bristol with City shirts and training/leisure wear on rather than United, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. If we are pricing ourselves over and above those teams then we're fighting a losing battle. It's a bit of a joke though. I'd expect those prices for a Nike Adidas hoody but (with respect) an Irish brand better known for Gaelic football that very few people in England have even heard of? I'm not pointing the finger at them mind, someone at the club sets the prices. We'll have a price we buy for and a price we sell for. The commercial side of the club is an absolute embarrassment and shows what they think of the supporters to be honest. Cash cows to be milked at every opportunity. The prices are going up and the quality is going down, and I apply that to kit, merchandise, training wear, food, let's hope we aren't adding team to that this season
  9. Surely it's just sensible? With RM out for an unknown period of time having someone that could play RB as well as CB should Tanner get injured or suspended makes sense. Nobodies suggesting he's being signed as a RB option unless there's a problem. Much like Sykes Vyner or Bell (this now seems madness) playing there in a pinch. Ultimately he's a very good defender at this level and if anyone's looking at that position in the free agent market then he's probably near the top of the list. If he's willing to sign reduced terms and everyone's happy then what's the problem? Give me a Kalas who knows the club, manager, players etc anyway over a Marriapa or Klose
  10. Kalas can also cover right back which might be playing into it now we only have Tanner
  11. I don't think it's fair to judge this summers recruitment after 3/4 games. Brownhill to a while to get going and most have gone up a division so need time to get used to that. But prior to that I've not been impressed. Someone on Twitter mentioned us shopping in Lidl and it kind of feels that way. There's nothing wrong with buying players who you think have a high ceiling and develop them but you can't fill your team with them. It would be nice if we could make a signing that's a statement of intent but I don't see it happening.
  12. You can keep your comments from the Morecambe and Gillingham managers thanks “The incredible fans of Bristol,” Guardiola said on ITV. “I remember five years ago when we came here for the semi-final for our first title, our first Carabao Cup. We came here for the semi-final and the environment was amazing, I remember it perfectly.
  13. Without bringing this summers recruitment into it I would question if Pearsons recruitment so far has been successful. The caveat being that he's been working on a budget of course. For me, only James and Atkinson would fit into a top 6 team. Naismith clearly has done that recently but not for us. Tanner Sykes Cornick Mehmeti Bajic all no. King was a decent utility signing and the less said about Simpson and Kane Wilson the better.
  14. So what equates to 'character and authenticity? An appalling ramshackle stadium which is falling to pieces? A manager whose morals have repeatedly shown to missing? Being so badly managed you actually dropped into non league football? You might think from the inside you are authentic and plucky little Bristol Rovers but you wouldn't turn down our position in a million years. Are we soulless because we have a roof and actual seats? Someone willing to put their hand in the pocket so we don't turn into an embarrassment? Or are you just horrendously jealous. Enjoy your 'authenticity' I hope the roof doesn't blow off your tent.
  15. I had forgotten about Naismith to be honest, he does have the ability to make those kinds of passes. Keeping him fit seems to be a bit of an issue though
  16. To be fair I didn't see last night so maybe Knight can play that role. AM and AB are just unknowns in that role at the moment, they may be able to do it? Personally I'd rather we took a few quid out of the 20m and got a proven replacement as a creator
  17. Priority for me is a CM in the creative mould. It's great having runners like Bell Conway Wells and Sykes but if you haven't got anyone who can play those defence splitting passes then it's a bit of a blunt tool. I don't think another first choice CB is required or after Christmas you have the same issue as if you buy another striker. Too many for not enough game time. We have depth now at CB with Naismith Roberts McCroirie Pring even Tanner at a push. If we lose all them then the HPC has likely disappeared into a sinkhole and we have bigger problems
  18. At the time when everyone's feeling the pinch, value for money is even more important than ever. For the first time since the stadium reopened our group asked ourselves why we come here before every game and eat overpriced food we don't enjoy when North Street is up to the road. New plans for the Birmingham game
  19. I queued for it, saw what was being offered up for a tenner and left the queue. I can't comment on taste but it didn't look like it was value for money
  20. The only thing in the stadium which is good, not just OK, in my opinion is Feed The Goat.
  21. Welcome Bears fans to the thread....
  22. Being able to put a collar on a shirt shouldn't be impacted by how long it takes to get some out. As fans we accepted the short timescales with the kits that were produced quickly with printed badges and the like but there's no excuse for the poor quality items we've seen on players and fans. I'm not laying any design issues at O'Neills door. Some of this is basic though.
  23. My interest is in Bristol City. If Scott moves to Bournemouth then all the best to him, we get the money we want/need and he gets a premier league move. If he does what we all think/hope and absolutely smashes it then we get to see further payment when he moves to a top club. I wish the kid well of course but once he no longer plays for BCFC I don't really mind where he is playing.
  24. Quality wise though I still have Puma and Adidas tops/jackets in good condition that I use for training/exercise. I liked the Puma kits. The Adidas stuff was a bit template but you get everything else that goes with it in branded leisure ware, training tops, coats, jackets etc etc which fans will happily spend money on if it's good quality and a brand name. The margins might be lower but I bet you sell way more. It's down to creative control. JL wants something he can design himself or at least have input on. An Adidas or Nike will likely send you 5 designs and say pick one. Personally I think Umbro would have been the perfect supplier. Existing relationship with the Bears, clearly happy to do bespoke designs based on their stuff, viewed as a reasonable brand name, good quality stuff. Opportunity missed
  25. The brief was clearly we want something like Derby and Swansea that can used in isolation, but bar a bit of training wear and some polos we haven't really. Personally, I f'ing hate it. it's abstract, uninspiring, and if I suddenly came into a few billion and bought the club it would be the first thing to go.
