  1. Welcome Bears fans to the thread....
  2. Being able to put a collar on a shirt shouldn't be impacted by how long it takes to get some out. As fans we accepted the short timescales with the kits that were produced quickly with printed badges and the like but there's no excuse for the poor quality items we've seen on players and fans. I'm not laying any design issues at O'Neills door. Some of this is basic though.
  3. My interest is in Bristol City. If Scott moves to Bournemouth then all the best to him, we get the money we want/need and he gets a premier league move. If he does what we all think/hope and absolutely smashes it then we get to see further payment when he moves to a top club. I wish the kid well of course but once he no longer plays for BCFC I don't really mind where he is playing.
  4. Quality wise though I still have Puma and Adidas tops/jackets in good condition that I use for training/exercise. I liked the Puma kits. The Adidas stuff was a bit template but you get everything else that goes with it in branded leisure ware, training tops, coats, jackets etc etc which fans will happily spend money on if it's good quality and a brand name. The margins might be lower but I bet you sell way more. It's down to creative control. JL wants something he can design himself or at least have input on. An Adidas or Nike will likely send you 5 designs and say pick one. Personally I think Umbro would have been the perfect supplier. Existing relationship with the Bears, clearly happy to do bespoke designs based on their stuff, viewed as a reasonable brand name, good quality stuff. Opportunity missed
  5. The brief was clearly we want something like Derby and Swansea that can used in isolation, but bar a bit of training wear and some polos we haven't really. Personally, I f'ing hate it. it's abstract, uninspiring, and if I suddenly came into a few billion and bought the club it would be the first thing to go.
  6. I genuinely think this badge is superb. There's nothing cartoonish or basic about it. It's not trying to be everything at once. As much as splat is a stock image and it would have been massively lazy I bet he looks better inside the badge circle than the chilli outline does (expecting to be proven wrong)
  7. I mean at least we aren't using Ikea to launch our kits. Leaving Eastville left them homeless for years till they cuckoo's the Mem from the rugby club, seems an odd thing to use in a promo
  8. Having been down to the club shop today I can confirm quality wise its worse than I thought. It's like material from the 90s
  9. And that's the ideal scenario for us. Move to a mid table side like Wolves, absolutely smash it, get sold for triple figures so we get more money in the sell on clause
  10. Maybe JL wishes he'd used splat in the middle of our circular badge instead of that awful abstract 'robin'
  11. If it's blue why would we need a third kit (other than £££). I'm expecting white or black
  12. From what I've read on Twitter (so probably not quite correct) is that Derby are still operating under EFL restrictions and therefore if they can tick this one off to show it as a 'free transfer' but we know we've got say 200k off the Knight deal then that works for both parties.
  13. Of course it's The Second Tier. Everything they put out is just for clicks and engagement
  14. I'll be honest every interaction I've had with Jerry has been top notch. Gone above and beyond. There is zero chance that the club is unaware of the supporters feelings on the kit design, quality, suppliers, badges etc from social media interactions and on here
  15. The best feedback is to just not buy any of it. Regardless if you are one of these people who just buy the shirt because it's the new one. Maybe if the club get hit in the pocket then they'll put some more effort in.
  16. Make probably equates to quality and comfort so I guess they would care about that given they will be wearing it during training, playing, travelling, official duties etc. The rest? I doubt it.
  17. West Ham would be great for us. Money in the bank for Rice, and more importantly for us (and a sell on clause) a good stepping stone club. I think he'd be great there and it's a massive club. European football next year too
  18. I think AG is probably too small for a band this size. They'll want to be doing the biggest stadiums they can't so they don't end up doing more dates. It's a shame but Cardiff is better than London or Manchester (thats all they usually do)
  19. Whisper it quietly but they've already traced and used this one some years ago for season tickets, social media, and on a banner in the Sport Bar.
  20. I think it comes down to quality. If you are charging the same price for an O'Neills shirt as a Hummel, Nike, Umbro etc then the quality of the garment has to match up or the design has to be so individual and appealing that people will look past the quality. Case in point is probably the first season we went with Bristol Sport as kit suppliers. The design was nice, a bit retro with a collar, P&L made a comeback, the quality wasn't great but I'd say it sold pretty well (successful season probably helped). This current shirt has neither appeal on quality or design.
  21. No way! A retro design! How completely left field!
  22. If they move then we rename them The Trash
  23. It's got to be white or black surely. I can't see the need for a third kit with any other colours.
  24. Gains from a towel must be minimal anyway. I play football with a guy who has a long throw and very rarely has a wet muddy ball stopped him hitting the six yard box from the half way line.
