  1. If the away end wasn’t so full he might have noticed them in the ground, or maybe he was watching from the pavements. I went to Ashton Gate on Saturday and a bloke stood in front of me at the turnstile was a city fan , I couldn’t believe it
  2. Don’t think we’ll lose a game between now and Man City personally , Wigan (win), Sunderland (draw) , Hull (draw). The players will want to play against Man City and that along with our run of form will see us pick up points in the run up to the cup game. Whilst we have a small squad there are players who can step in if players drop form in run up to the cup.The most important fixtures are how we react post the cup game , Cardiff (a), Huddersfield (a), Blackpool (h). A run of bad results post the cup game could see us looking over our shoulders (again)
  3. The step up from league two to championship is immense, and it’s taken Tanner a while to make that step up , also from a fitness perspective. Tanner has been used as a stick to beat Pearson with from a recruitment drive. Wilson will come good, sometimes we’ve got to accept a player will take time to adapt to a higher level. As for Pring many comments on his fitness levels which he’s clearly worked on, think with Pring & Atkinson, Pearson believes they can offer more and maybe a reason for the tough love?
  4. Hi Matt, Have a look at this thread, plenty of comments / suggestions on restaurants in city centre and around Bristol. Certainly a wide range of recommendations Enjoy Bristol , I’ll let other’s recommend a pub for the rugby!
  5. I didn’t know that, thank you. Are the ties Tuesday & Wednesday only I would expect Man Utd v whoever Wrexham / Sheff Utd v Spurs If Sunderland beat Fulham that to be televised v Leeds
  6. It’s strange to imagine that a wee on a small piece of white plastic can so much change your life. From the initial joy of finding out my partner Amy was pregnant with our first child, joy soon turned when we were referred to LGI where we were informed our unborn child had a heart condition called Truncus arteriosus. Max O’Leary was born at 19:25 on Sunday 22 December 2019, a few hours after Bristol City had lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday it felt rather apt that a defeat should incur on his birth date setting him up for years of disappointment ahead. Upon Max’s delivery it was standing room only as every doctor, nurse, midwife, consultant was there, including a pimped up cot which would not have looked out of place in a Sci Fi movie. Max was transferred to Intensive Care where a doctor examined his heart, and when asked how it was – replied ‘as we expected’ ! We quickly moved onto the miracle of Max, I sat with him that evening as he was linked to every machine going, and the following morning we visited him before heading out for something to eat – upon our return he was just led in a cot and was being moved to a side room in the children’s ward, before he came home for the first time on Christmas Eve – two days after birth with the understanding Max would require surgery within the next six to eight weeks. Max’s surgery was held on 16 January 2020, this is now known as his ‘Heart Day’. We carried Max down to surgery to be put to sleep and then waited for that call to advise the surgery had been successful, which was to fit a plastic tube to act as an artery, he was three weeks old. It’s still difficult to believe that a week after a seven hour open heart surgery he was being allowed home. Max is now three years old, and slowly getting into the disappointment of being a City fan. He has six monthly check ups as they monitor him, with each one you know it’s one closer to being told surgery is required again. We’re blessed to have such a special, strong child. Children’s Heart Surgery Fund provide life-saving medical equipment for the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, parent accommodation for families and vital ward resources. We also fund staff training, scientific research and new clinical roles. Please wear something red this Friday , in recognition of a fanatic charity that has supported my family and so many others and continues to do so. Thank you for taking the time to read this. https://www.chsf.org.uk/ @3 Peaps In A PodCast
  7. It is sad to look at two of those clubs, appreciate Bournemouth cheated FFP to get there but Brentford & Brighton had a sustainable business model whilst we’ve chopped and changed from pillars to Ashton to various other methods. Whilst our owner pumps money into the club , I don’t think he’s ever had either the right voices taking to him or a structured way of progress and for that we’ve fallen years behind Brentford & Brighton and selling out best young players to Bournemouth
  8. Positive thing is the club are moving quickly on their own deals once a player leaves as seen with the new keeper joining almost immediately as Bentley leaves the car park. Expect a quick announcement of an incoming player to replace Semenyo
  9. Basing fact on someone who calls radio Bristol after the game, clearly in the know ?
  10. Club confirmed new kick off time with original date https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/cardiff-city-kick-off-brought-forward/
  11. Didn’t know that about the home team paying expenses. Is that for all leagues?
  12. Playing Wycombe, could call it off at 10 in the morning tomorrow and not impact either the away fans or team. Would understand if playing a northern team , could give benefit of doubt but not a club c.100 mile away
  13. Watching him on Tuesday night , no indication of that and his joy with the rest of the squad for Bell scoring and the result would suggest he’d been ok. If he doesn’t go this month , clear message from Pearson and probably Tinnion score goals , create , play well and bigger clubs than Bournemouth will come knocking in the summer
  14. Post above stated it’s green football weekend , and the incentive from the club is a good one. Hopefully for us northern fans no train strikes so we can use public transport and not have to drive
  15. meant for those not travelling from Bristol
  16. I agree with you , our championship status is too important right now. Sit Semenyo down and tell him he can go in the summer , keep his form up , score / assist goals and bigger clubs then Bournemouth will come in for him. Then allows us the summer to bring new players in and revamp the squad
  17. Rearranged for Tuesday 7 March
  18. Let’s hope no train strikes that weekend !!
  19. It’s a real tough one from a selection point of view, do we go strong with the intention of winning the game and to be fair not a totally glam tie in the next round and risk injuries. Or wrap players up let them sit it out fresh for Saturday , no risk of injuries , booking or suspension. It would be really good to go to Huddersfield next week on a bit of form in the league
  20. Players get abused throughout the game , yet when they give a bit back we as fans don’t like it and get upset. Agree if Ramsdale was given the manual manipulator sign to the fans or booting the ball into the crowd , but he kissed a badge and stick his tongue out ! Look how quick the ‘fan’ runs back up the stand after kicking him in the back - clearly a coward. The FA have got to act hard on this - spurs should have a game played behind closed doors - may be harsh on the majority but clearly their security couldn’t stop an opposition player being attacked.
  21. First of all nobody apart from the players know what Pearson’s / Barton’s man management is like and depending on whether a player is playing regularly or not playing at all is likely to impact their response / thoughts. I’d suggest you look at Pearson towards Baker when he was paraded on the potency at half time. I’d also look at players like James & King who’ve come to city for Pearson. Barton is doing a good job at Rovers but would I want him at city - no chance. As for what happens when Lansdown eventually sells city - who knows. We could end up with a fake billionaire without a pot to piss in or we could be taken over and be be stronger due to it. Time will tell. But I’d rather have Pearson @ Lansdown at our club rather than Barton and Wally
