Think they'll fund UWE, so maybe not...
That's good news, it gets them out of Bristol and hopefully for good this time,

Well, being bankers they probably don't have to worry too much about borrowing money and I would imagine they have access to credit.
Depends if they'll be financing the club with their own money or borrowed money.
Exactly, they will not risk their personal wealth, they will find everything with borrowing. Which is a massive massive gamble and will likely just plunge them into chaos in a few years.
Our owner can afford those losses, how will the 15ers survive if they end up in £40million+ debt and are no higher than League One or bottom end of the Championship?

I realise the idea of a Middle Eastern buyout sounds exciting, clubs like Man City have been transformed for instance. But, if I was a 15er I would be very cautious about this. Remember Notts County signing Sol Campbell and getting Sven as manager?
If these potential new owners are worth £70million then that's nothing when it comes to football ownership, there are plenty of people that have won more than that on the Euromillions! I can't see somebody worth £70million wanting to waste millions on a League Two club, there must be something else they are looking for. You simply don't make money out of football unless you are top end Premier League (and even then you probably don't!). Look at how much Lansdown has lost over the last few years, nothing to him but unacceptable to a family with wealth of only £70million.

Normally I would wish a club well, but the 15ers are different. They have spent 34 years now laughing at a football clubs financial misfortune, I would laugh my ass off if they slipped into admin and got a taste of their own medicine.

Is it something about following a team called "R*v*ers"?

Trying to post a link to the front page of the Bishopston Society website but 'upgraded' forum won't let me.
Does this further hamper the Mem/Supermarket plan?

See that Chesham got beat at bottom of the table Paulton Rovers today.
At least one local Rovers team managed to beat Chesham.

Was I the only one happy when this bloody thread was on page 3? Can't stand seeing bloody basement rovers pop up again on OTIB.
Can't we just forget they exist?
You realise that by posting in the thread you drag it back up to the top of page one? If you don't like seeing it then it is probably best not to bump it.
To answer your first question though, I would never ever be happy to see this thread on page 3. On page 3 I want to see actual tits, not read posts about a tinpot club full of tits.

As much as we mock them, over 7000 in league 2 with a game that is on Sky isn't bad.
Don't forget there were 15,000 loyal 15'ers locked outside.
-
Is it alright, just for today at least, to say we'll win the league again this year?
It was never in doubt.
-
We really need to make"15ers" stick, boys and girls.
Agreed. Although they might be just a distant memory if they lose their appeal.

Not tempting fete but....
Correct me if I am wrong but if we get a result away to Leyton Orient on Saturday week we will have gone a year without losing a league away game.

None of them have corrected him on the fact that they have barely played any away league games over the last year. Oh and that "fete" is a fair, he must have meant "fate". So so prowed.

Wasn't Jar Jar Binks on the Jedi side? Annoying, slightly racist and hated by all? It does actually sound just like the 15er's.

Why do the 15ers get a bye for the first round of the JPT?
-
not been on this thread for while, what mess are ragass in now?
They have tried plans A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K and L and are now moving onto plan M which is 100% guaranteed to work, it;s watertight and will see them propelled up the leagues with a shiny new stadium.

It's always so disappointing when the best a troll can do is post a Gas badge.
If you want to troll, try and be clever or do something a little different.

So if I just try to get my head around this: DC got offered the manager's job on the basis that he would be managing them in League Two as the club never budgeted for relegation. It was a rolling contract so no danger of expiration upcoming. Presumably no wage drop on relegation on the basis that would be budgeting for relegation... Following relegation and promotion (by the lottery of the Pray Offs) DC now gets a new contract and presumably a pay rise for guiding the club in to umm League Two where he is still untested at best.... Oh and this what 10 days or so since he moaned about the wages players expect from Bristol Rovers/budgets and weeks since the EP claimed Rovers' FD said losing UWE could be catastrophic for the club's financial wellbeing................
Yeah but ignoring all that he deserves a new contract as he has done a great job at singing, swearing and chanting in pubs.

Whats up with the Gash then? They haven't bought a player from Salisbury in a while..
They are saving up their pocket money so they can buy a new tent.
-
Pointless club, pointless answer.
-
We are Bristol Rovers so agents automatically add on an extra 5% or 10% as we are perceived to be a BIG club.
I can see agents thinking "the newest football league club that are on the brink of administration are so big we can add on 10%".
-
I think this is brilliant by the EP, such an embarrassing story for Rovers anyway, now it's front page news!!
I might have thought that it was a brilliant move by the EP to show the 15ers up, except they ran that story the other day saying that Higgs looks like grumpy cat.
Joke of a paper.
-
The front page of the Bristol Post this morning is the gas note left in the Sainsbury's trolley.
The Bristol Post is just as much of an embarrassment to this city as the 15ers.

Bristol R*vers dustbin thread

The more I think about this the better the news is. If all goes to plan, the horse punchers will be out of Bristol, they will have sold out to a foreign investor that doesn't care at all about them or the area and we will all get to laugh when it goes belly up in (at most) a couple of years.
