  1. 3rd highest attendance as a percentage of capacity in the division? That's a very creative way of trying to make yourselves sound more impressive and yet even with such a selective criteria you still only manage 3rd. :rofl2br:

Why not say you have the highest attendance of any club in League One that begins with "Bristol"? :rofl2br:

Pardon my ignorance, but what does the acronym FTG mean please?

In Loyalist parts of Ulster "FTP" is a crude insult aimed at the Pope. Are the Rovers fans insulting their own beloved Gas? In both cases I assume the T stands for The.

It stands for "Forty Two Gas", which is how many fans they usually take to away games.

I live in yate, when I moved here 10 years ago I was told it was a Gas area,

you rarely see a gas shirt but see loads of City all the time, now I know it's embarrassing going out dressed as a clown but you would have thought you would see a few about!!

I grew up in the Yate area in the 80s and 90s and it was never a "gas area", we were all split roughly equally between the two teams.

Plenty of Liverpool, Arsenal and Man U "fans" as well. :grr:

And there it is... a post from Strange Gas

' - like the final sentence!

How can over 1,000 be poor?  130 miles.  On a saturday when most people are already Xmas shopping.  And when we're having 2 games a week almost every week. '

Didn't they boycott Pompey? No reason for the super club who are riding high taking at least double that...

So it wasn't a cycle race that caused poor attendance, it was that they all went Christmas shopping instead!

The 15ers need to open up Santa's grotto as soon as possible, they would get a bigger attendance in that converted portaloo than they would in their stadium tents.

Seriously, that picture HAD to have been taken well before kickoff?? Surely? If thats the best they can muster for a London game whilst in the playoff positions.........

Look at the words written below the Gas fans. Specialists in drainage works, obviously TWDrainage flushed away all the scum that were polluting that stand.

Crapdiff are as big a bunch of morons as the gash. They suffer from an inferiority complex that goes back to pre Roman days. Did you know that the Romans named that part of Britain as 'Wielsa' which is a derogatory term for a slave nation. The morons that inhabit that part of the world took it for their name hence 'Wales' was born. They will always be 'Wielsa' nothing more, nothing less.

As for the sags... don't get me started... :P

All that sounds true until you realise that "Wales" is what we call it. Their name for their country is "Cymru".

Apparently the UWE build starts in March. No idea if it's true or not, but I thought some of you photographers might want to record the event, and  you might need some notice to book a day or two off.

I remember the 15ers calling us "North Somerset" when we were trying to build Ashton Vale, just because an access road went across the county border. The 15ers found it hilarious that part of City's stadium might not be inside the boundaries of Bristol.

Now you are creaming your pants at the idea (and it's only an idea) that you might move to South Glos.

Personally I fully support the UWE plans. I can think of nothing more fitting than for your local rivals being Yate Town and Mangotsfield.

Well if you're talking about the last fifteen years then fair play to comment on the farce that we have had to endure.

If we're talking about the last two years then maybe not.

15 years ago you were in the Second Division (League One today) and finished 2000/01 by being relegated to the Third Division (League Two today).  In the years that have followed you managed to get back up to the heights of League One, before dropping down to League Two again and then out of the Football League altogether.  Then in the last 2 years you managed to scrape out of the Conference on penalties before (barely) finishing third in League Two to scrape another promotion.

So yeah, well done on being back where you started.

It's hilarious that you think posting that is some sort of dig at us.

That season saw us finish as high up in the football league pyramid (the entire pyramid!!) as the 15ers EVER have. In your entire history you have never exceeded our achievement that season.

We were 90 minutes away from Premier League football and lost 1-0 to a wonder goal. It hurt, of course it did, but it's not like it was a goal that sent us out of the entire Football League.

You're going to think you have got to me as I have written a long post, but I genuinely find it funny that 15ers use Windass as a way of mocking us. Good god, your lot would sacrifice every virgin in Horfield (that's just the blokes under the Mem tents then) to get even a sniff of a chance to play against Hull in the Championship play off final.

Trashcan Gate/Trashton Gate has been used to describe your stadium for years. Yes, it is about as relevant now as us being called Gasheads, over 25 years after leaving Eastville - some things just stick.

Thanks for your comment on my mentality, although it has been assesed by people far more qualified than you.

It seems to be a running theme with 15ers that their insults are based on rhyming words.  City becomes Shitty, Ashton becomes Trashton etc.

It probably seems very impressive to them, after all most children are not able to rhyme like that until they reach the age of 3 or 4!  Well done Gasheads!

Of course it is hilarious when they try and do it.  Bristol Shitty makes no sense as an insult when it is said by fans of a team that have pretty much always been lower than us in the leagues.  Trashton Gate makes no sense coming from fans of a club that have never ever had a stadium anywhere near as good as even the old Ashton Gate.

Still, keep on developing Gasheads, one day you might pass the 4 years olds and develop to a level where you can use really simple similes to describe us.

Strange they all like the article - I guess liking the parts not aimed at either of the clubs but Bristol in general must be an admission they don't care about Bristol or don't associate themselves with it anymore, maybe they have already consigned themselves to just be the best team in South Glos instead.

They'd be the second best, after Yate Town.

I know its funny (actually hilarious) sometimes to just bash the rovers, but honestly not all of their fans are like this, I had to go on this Job Centre course for Sainsbury's it was a 2 week course, with a promise of an interview for then the new opening of their portishead store. The bloke was alright, didnt dis me for supporting city, I didnt dis him for supporting rovers. We got on quite well, but I got the job and he didnt....He then started calling me every name under the sun BUT he did later apologise which is unheard of.

Sainsbury's rejected the gas again? :rofl2br:
