Bristol city were a club that died at the first sign of trouble

It's bullshit like that that makes Rovers the only club that I hope goes bust one day.  I'd have sympathy for the fans of any other club, but the 15ers absolutely revel in the misfortune of a club that went bankrupt.  They'll get no sympathy from me if they ever vanish.

I might take The Gap out this weekend to celebrate being old enough to drink alcohol.

I will also be turning my clock back an hour whilst The Gap turns theirs back 18 years!

    Mind The Gap!

I wouldn't do that if I was you.  The Gap is a well known scrounger and you will end up having to pay for everything.  And after you've had a few drinks, The Gap will leave you in the pub and try to steal your house.

It’s as though they forget just what an embarrassment the Mem is.

Do you remember our manager a few years ago claiming that we had a couple of potential signings (pre rebuild) who took a look around and chose to go elsewhere because Ashton Gate wasn’t up to scratch...?

Can you imagine the reaction when players who might be viewing the Mem for the first time must have....?!

“Here is the new “Stand” next week we might move it over to that space there, next to Santa’s grotto.

I hope you’ve noticed how clean the curtains are..? Now, let me show you the canopy over the directors entrance, then we’ll put our championship ready sprinklers on to show you, then we can go inside to sort out the contract formalities while we knock one out to babestation”

I assume that they will be watertight contracts?

I hear that a joint purchase by two rugby league clubs ( Gloucester and Oxford) is being lined up. They are amalgamating and have been given permission by the Rugby League, to be based in Bristol next year.

The plan is to form a joint company called the Memorial sport company, with the existing owners of the Memorial Ground (Dwayne Holdings). If either of the parties goes into administration, the other party can purchase the other party's share holding for £10k.

It would be amazing if Rovers had their ground "stolen" by a rugby club.

I`ve said it before and I`ll say it again - I sometimes think that the club are a long term installation project by the KLF. However, I doubt that, even in the most twisted parts of Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty`s imaginations, that they could dream up a stunt as convincing as BRFC.

Ether that or it`s the most successful project they`ve ever undertaken and it`s now taken on such a life of it`s own that it won`t stop until the whole thing self -destructs.

Maybe it is a Banksy work?  We are all laughing at the tents, but what if they are secretly giant shredders that will activate as soon as Wally sells?

1,179. But this is the competition that needs to be boycotted until Under 23 teams are removed, so they should be applauded not mocked for the pitiful turnout.

100% agree and fair play to everyone that stayed away.  It's a shame the crowd wasn't zero.

In relation to an article published in the Bristol Post:

"It's almost as if they're trying to give their favourite football club (BCFC 1982) a laugh."

Ha Ha......We don't need the BP to do that. The muppets running, playing for and supporting the club are doing that quite nicely.

It’s been a very long time since they did anything that stopped us laughing at them.  I think the gap is now 18 years old, 18 years of pissing ourselves laughing at the deluded fools down the road.

I am sure they laughed in 1982 and I’m sure they laughed at our relegations, but other than that, have we (in living memory) done anything they can actually laugh at?

Failing in the play off final for the Premier League?  It’s not so funny though when they realise they are nowhere near that level.

Ashton Vale falling through?  Not so funny when they realise they are playing in one of (if not the) the worst grounds in the Football League.  And they can’t even get proper planning permission for tents.

They have absolutely nothing on us.

Please don't let them go into admin. What would happen to this thread? This is comedy golddust!

We’d laugh at AFC Bristol Rovers 2018 losing to Real Totterdown during their failed attempt to get out of the Bristol and Avon Association Football League.

A canvas roof is in fact a safety feature. Anyone of average height, jumping up or even standing up in Row G (ie the back row) is likely to smack their head on that roof.

It’s not a problem. With the way their season is going, none of the 15ers are going to be jumping up.
