Interesting. On gaschat there is a thread about Bury and Bolton. On here, there is a lot of sympathy for those teams’ fans. On Gaschat, the prevailing view is “kick them out of the league”. This will make me less sympathetic when the same thing happens to them.

Standard stuff for the 15ers.  They love mocking teams that are in financial trouble.

The 1982 jibes alone would make me have zero sympathy for them if they ever went bust.  But at least 1982 makes sense from a rivals point of view, being that unsympathetic to teams like Bolton and Bury just shows what scummy people 15ers are.

I read this week that Florist fans were collecting money to help save Notts County.

Would anyone be brave enough to shake a tin for Rovers at Ashton Gate if it came to it?

It would be pointless as the 15ers would first steal the money and then steal the tin.

No point really it’s just the word person I disagree with isn’t mutually exclusive to Down syndrome any more than idiot or imbecile! Words and meanings change!

The word person I disagree with is sort for mongrel as far as I was aware when I was kid (not that I used it)!

No offense meant but people get far to offended for everything these days!

Words do change, but "person I disagree with" has a very clear meaning.  Nobody here was offended by the use of the word, I was just pointing out the irony of a post about racism that used the word.

It's no biggie though, I can't be arsed to argue on this.

Down’s syndrome can’t be insulted but people and their families with downs syndrome could be your frankly insulting and I’ll thought out remarks! They’re a people and tar them with the same brush is disgusting!

Are you trying to make a point there?

The word “person I disagree with” is racist in origin and was used against people who have Down’s Syndrome.

I wasn’t having a go at Kodjias Wrist as I know people use the word without realising what it means.

I guess my post should have had “Down’s Syndrome people”, apologies for missing out a word. There were bugger all insults in my post though.

If anything both City and Rovers fans have some absolute mongs supporting them.

But one thing I'm glad we don't have is a racist sect of fans. I'm gonna throw the gashead line that I know mates who see it all the time in their end behind the goal.

If you are going to make a point about racism and idiotic fans, it's probably best not to use a racist (and insulting to Down's Syndrome) word to describe them.

James Bond is one of few franchises that actually has huge potential for expansion, you could create any number of 00 agents and be able and introduce them to the series, from recollection there's only been Sean Bean as 006 we've seen, said for ages I'd like to see Bond linking up with other 00 agents even if its only for one scene. You could cast high profile names as other 00 agents and have spin off movies if they're successful, I'm hoping Lynch's role if she takes over as 007 is part of the plot as in 'you left James, what did you think we wouldn't replace you?' And then sorted with a new actor for the next film.

I think in one of the Roger Moore movies there were other 00 agents, they were getting killed by the bad guy and so Bond was as to investigate.

  7. I doubt it will be the end of the franchise.

Bond quit at the end of the last movie, the code number was always going to then pass to a new spy.

It’ll be the last Craig movie, a new Bond will be cast soon after and that Bond will be 007 in the movie after that.

There was a time where there was at least some competition in Bristol football. Those times of course were decades ago.

That’s a bit harsh on Manor Farm .

Forget Manor Farm, that was harsh on Portland Old Boys A Team.

Hmmmm - do you think it is likely that they have somebody lined up, or will they be casting their net in the hope of dragging somebody on board?

They might cast their net, but like the everything else at their tinpot club their net has a hole in that a blue whale could fit through.

One of them just posted this...

"Crazy that our record buy is still Tillson nearly 30 years ago. Can't see that changing anytime soon either."

Kalas will earn that much by mid-October !!!

All the talk of Tillson’s made me wonder what a Tillson is adjusted for inflation.

    £375,000 in 1992 was worth £762,000 in 2018.

I can’t see them ever breaking the value of a 1992 Tillson, but they’re never going to beat a 2018 Tillson.

There's always going to be a Rovers even if the AQs end up liquidating it and selling the ground to a hotel group; no club of any size has just gone for good.  You'll just find yourself playing elsewhere, maybe Twerton again.

Just this last month Gateshead has been replaced by Gateshead Soul.

Mind, your going bust and being replaced by a new club may finally shut up the tiresome 82ers rubbish from your more monobrowed colleagues.

You just know they will still go on about 1982.

”Yeah we went bust because of a big City conspiracy, it wasn’t our fault, Sunderland love us! You went bust because it was all your fault not like Rovers 2020 because we were faithful, prowed and true!”
