    My take:

Didn’t think Holden deserved to be sacked. (17th Feb)

Thought Pearson was a good choice to come in. (22nd Feb)

Ashton already balls deep with Gamechanger/Ipswich (Feb)

Thought Pearson would do better on the pitch than he has.

So, if it’s Pearson out, what do we need?

A manager plus someone to play a role between Richard Gould and the manager.

I seem to recall Nige saying he sees himself as a manager, not a coach, when asked about it back when appointed. I feel the lack of coaching and organising the players is what people are generally surprised and unhappy about.

Maybe he saw his value here as being able to change the culture and mentality of the squad. Sadly he seems to have totally flopped in that respect. It almost seems from his previous statements that he thinks good, motivated pros should be able to organise themselves and that clearly is beyond our lot.

It doesn't seem like Fleming is making much difference. Unless he can either get in a Shakespeare level coach, or upgrade the squad with players who have the ability he seems to think should be part of a good pro, I don't see how he is gonna sort this mess.

Probably best to go for a big man up top and if Semenyo returns then go 4141 out of possession and 433 in possession. Nige has talked about going 433.

Hopefully at least try and look solid and have a bit of an awkward big man up top opposing defences have to worry about.

Could really do with a prime Diedhiou back actually at the moment. He was far from perfect but a handful at this level.

As for realistic targets, I have no idea. Would Smith from Rotherham be an option. And can we even afford him.

Keinan Davis might be the right type, but it seems Stoke were close to making that deal before his injury. He does seem quite injury prone and Nige doesn't seem to be interested in loans anyway, but that might have changed with the situation we are in.

A bit depressing if what we want is a big lump up front to receive all the long kicks from Bentley. I would hope this isn't the vision the Nige has. Not exactly an entertaining style to watch is it.

A bit more pace is what I'd like to see up front and out wide.

I have backed Pearson so far, but this could be a turning point for me it's just not working. We have no creativity, no goal threat and defend like rank amateurs.

Bakinson & vyner should no where near the first team there an absolute liability, no idea what Pearson see it them....

Tbf some people pointed out Nige has only done well when he had Shakespeare coaching. I'm beginning to worry that's true and he can't pull this off on his own.

An implementation of a style could well be an integral part of Nige’s remit. Hopefully he can get first team squad playing to a definite style and pass that style down throughout the club.

Yes - but the point made by the diagram is the Board/DoF should be deciding it. If the manager does it then it will change when he gets the boot. This is where I think SL has failed as he's never had a proper football man on the board.

If NP becomes that man long term and stays with a new coach fair enough. Lansdown has never done anything like that before, although maybe he thought he was with the snake oil salesman.

    That’s completely wrong.

SL has a strategy/policy of a manager creating a squad with a blend of youngsters and experienced players - that’s why he was so patient with LJ.

If we go back 4 or 5 years SL talked about ‘sustainability and stability’

If you read B it talks about deciding on 'a style of football'. Neither of the above has anything to do with that.

If you look at Swansea they appointed a series of managers to stick to a certain style of football and eventually got promoted. Not so successful recently but for a few years you knew what type of game to expect from them.

We have no consistency in what style of football we want our players to deliver and don't look for a coach who will play the 'bcfc' way because there is no plan on what that should be.

  6. Not exactly rocket science is it? Seems to me that I can never remember us having piece B in all the time SL has been the owner. I think he relied upon a combination of himself and the manager e.g. GJ do set this and that's, imo, where we have gone wrong for years.

I reckon Ashton thought he was doing it but he isn't qualified to do so. If NP sets the vision now and then gets moved on we are back to square one.

  7. Start with Dasilva on Tuesday and we all know who Brum will be targetting. At least Tanner might get a break. Much as I like DaSilva as a footballer, his height is a massive weakness in a physical league like the championship.

Not a great watch, but shows us the quality of particularly Kalas, and mentons to Atkinson, James and Tanner, of how competitive we are in the air. Impressive stuff.

HNM was one of our better players imo. I thought James was pretty poor. His corners weren't great either.

  9. I am not a COD fan but while Barnsley were pushed up to the halfway line we needed someone to run through with the ball. He seemed the obvious choice to me this time, just to stop them camping in our half. Even their keeper was almost in our half, it was nuts that they felt able to do that.

  10. I don't see why we need to make big changes from the Forest team. It wasn't that we played badly or couldn't cope with them. It was a mental attitude problem in the second half, compounded by poor substitutions.

NP has to change the team's approach late in games rather than fixate on changing certain players imho.

I see no value in the OP other to stir shit. We don't know how the recruit side of the club is run or much about those who are in it, more importantly we are in no position to do anything about it. Even if the information was valid it only serves to be a rod to beat the club with. I have no idea who Harry is and to be honest I don't care, but no matter how much he presents this information as fact, it is soured by his opinions. He may know "some agents", but everything I have ever read or heard about agents would make me wary of listening to them as a source of truth.

I think it is a valid point he raised about there being no HoR.

When it comes to not answering calls from agents I'm not sure that would be a surprise. If they are anthing like recruitment agencies in the 'real' world I don't blame them. I get fed up with the emails and voicemails I get from them. That's as someone who only recruits one or two people a year!

  12. It drove me nuts that we just sat back for at least the last 20 minutes. Forest fans were commenting that they were doing the same under Hughton and it only changed with him going. Maybe it is due to them getting a few wins and more confidence. Or maybe the tone IS set by the manager.

I really don't know the answer. Taking all your attackers off clearly adds to the siege mentality. However, you can't blame NP for that idiotic sliding tackle by Baker. Or the blatant mistakes from the ref.

I think I will have to avoid following the WBA game as it currently isn't good for my mental health.

The worry for me is that result tonight could be catastrophic for confidence ….confidence that was already on the floor anyway

Sadly I can see the rot setting in on the back of this

Wait until our usual tanking at WBA sinks in. Could get nasty.
