This defends on who we bring in and who goes out of the club. If decent bids come in our top players will be off.

If Semenyo leaves we are back to square one imo. Pearson has been open in his tactic of playing on the break. You need players with genuine pace to make that work. AS is our key player to making this work. If he is sold we will need a similar replacement as no-one else in the squad has pace.

It seems that some people hate the fact that SL might and I'd repeat that Might, make a profit from his investment in the sporting infrastructure of the Bristol Region. I can only guess what those reasons are, possibly a political nature or jealousy, it certainly doesn't seem rational.

I always supported SL and the attempts to build the stadium and other associated packages but, being loosely connected with the administration of that time but, I was amazed at how amateurish and weak it was. The mistakes and presumptions were too many and actually embarrassing. Having said that, the man drew down on his wealth and carried on investing in the stadium and other things mentioned here, as well as propping up all the sports under the umbrella over a long period of time.

Had he not left Hargreaves Lansdown and drawn his money down to make those vast investments, then I'm pretty certain he'd be sitting on a lot more wealth than he currently does.

When he left HL, he was a bit behind Hargreaves in his personal wealth, since that time Hargreaves has at least doubled his wealth £2.4 billion and Lansdown's has increased modestly in comparison to about £1.4 billion. So in a nutshell, If Lansdown was doing this for profit, he aint such a hard nosed businessman as some of you like to point out. It seems he'd have been better off sitting on his shares and receiving an ever increasing dividend, instead of receiving shit from some areas of our supposed supporter base..

I bet Steve is glad he didn't just sit on his HL shares now. They have gone from over £24 a couple of years ago to under a tenner now. We know he has diversified out of HL, not just spent it on Bristol Sport. Still, I believe he still owns something like 6% of HL, so a not inconsiderable loss for him. I'm sure he can still pay his heating bill though.

  3. I was interested in NP's post match comments to Bristol Live where he said they totally changed the system for defending set pieces.

Maybe @Davefevs or one of our other experts on here could give us some insight on that? It seems we were more solid in that regard. Let's hope they have found an answer to that issue at least.

Just need to stop giving away goals in the last ten minutes and we're sorted.

But the very nature of the youngsters is that they’re inconsistent. We shouldn’t be surprised.

Tonight was a very inexperienced team. The more inexperienced performers you have, the more likely you are to be inconsistent.

The sky commentator pointed out that Barnsley had a very young team whereas ours was about average for the Championship. I think he said their average age was 24 and ours 27. Not fact checked that myself.

I appreciate we have a young/old age disttribution which affects the average. However, we certainly can't claim inconsistency due to it being a team full of youngsters.

    Frankly, this is embarrassing.

Defence all at sea, midfield non-existent, attack limp.

So bad, I beginning to wonder about Pearson for the first time. Yes, blame the players but, seriously, can anybody explain wtf is Massengo doing marking a giant for a corner?  What clown of a coach thinks that’s a good idea?

I'm now beginning to believe the theory that Shakespeare was doing all the coaching at Leicester and Steve Walsh found the players. Leaving you wondering if it was actually just lucky for Nige to have them doing all the work. I can't understand how a decent coach would end up with a consistently disorganised shambles of a defence.

  6. It's interesting that he says the structure made it difficult but that Nige came in and made changes. It wasn't him that got rid of Ashton. So I wonder what he is referring to in terms of structural changes.

Perhaps the fact they had too many coaches and no-one knew who did what? ?

FIFA showing their true colours. I suppose it was asking a bit much expecting that they'd do the right thing first time around. Shame on UEFA for backing this position. Time to bin them both off.

About time there was a breakaway from FIFA. If they get this call wrong and leave Russia in the WC maybe that could be a catalyst for something that should have happened decades ago.

  8. How will Ukranian sportsmen and women feel if they have to compete against russian teams or competitors? I think we should be banning Russia from all sports in solidarity but it would be interesting to hear their views. I saw a tennis player saying today he will be going back home and joining the militia. If that is any indication we should be 100% behind a ban. Allowing them into the olympics as ROC was a joke.

  9. Various posts on here about starting to enjoy watching city again. Really? I agree that Semenyo and Scott can now get you up off your seat at times, which we haven't had for a while.

However, week after week we get our noses in front only to resort to sitting back and letting in soft goals. I find it hard to enjoy games when you know we will crumble at the end. Reading was just so painful to watch, even though we scraped a win we nearly didn't.

I think we have to give Nige another season and hope it improves. I struggle to see it is any better to watch at this point though.

How different it could've been, had Weimann played in Pring as opposed to go for the much more difficult Semenyo pass. Ah well!

Really want this season to be over now... whilst I think we'll stay up, I'm really looking ahead to the summer when Nigel hopefully make his mark in the way of signings.

Well I know summer is always an optimistic time but let's be honest, Nige's signings last summer are hardly cause for optimism. Most are currently out injured and who has really made an impact from those he signed?

  11. There was one occasion near the end where the ball hit a defender and went high into the air. Max seemed to react by retreating onto his line when he could've been braver and tried to catch it. I was yelling at him to come for it.

This was only just outside the six yard box. For me that is his main weakness. He doesn't dominate in his area and I would rather see Bentley back in.
