  1. You can say that again ? He had a tough job. Still does as well but 100% this team isn’t producing performances they are capable of. Brought in a few he wanted so think it is reasonable to be expecting consistent hard working performances. We just haven’t had that.
  2. Yes but those are top loan prices. Some clubs are interested in their players getting better or just getting a portion of wages off their books. Look at Reading for example. They aren’t paying anywhere close to what some of their loan players make at their parent club. Money aside, because we all know it is an issue, it was weird to have that stance throughout the window. We have one objective and it is to stay up. So to say you won’t sign loan players that could help you achieve that is a bit confusing to me. There is clearly a bit of wiggle room or we would not have signed Tanner.
  3. Yep I was there too and your post is 100% how I feel about everything. Horrible day, odd decisions and maybe a couple small positives like Wells.
  4. Yep and it is worrying. Even more so when it seems SL is so bought in that NP is making lots of staff changes at the minute as well. Feel like making similar mistakes to the Ashton era. NP looks to have a lot of power. I do think he is clever and is assembling a much more competent staff than Ashton ever did but if he can’t get it right on the pitch, are we going to be left with a bunch of staff on new contracts and not wanted by the next guy?
  5. You don’t have to press the full length of the pitch. You can sit back and press in your half. Instead we watched them pass around us without a care in the world.
  6. I can name players but idk who was available. The club would have agents, loan managers or academy managers they could contact and get a list I am sure. I like Conway a lot and think he will be a good player. Big ask though to rely on his form keeping us up though. Bit negligent saying we have enough goals in Wells, Weimann, Martin and Conway isn’t it?
  7. Yes and another issue is why he was so against a loan. As you say, a forward was needed. Loan is a decent option to have for a short term target. Like staying up for example.
  8. Yes I get that. What I am saying is today wasn’t a talent issue. It was an effort issue. Talent wise we aren’t close to West Brom. No shame in losing away to West Brom. The shame was the lack of effort and energy. There didn’t seem to be a game plan. Players looked lost. Not sure we won one second ball. We were second in every department. That isn’t good enough. It is a feeling of players not buying what NP and co are instructing.
  9. We can’t understand how we aren’t able to press teams into mistakes. We can’t understand why we aren’t winning 50/50 balls. These are the basics we were told would be better this season. Reckon only the case in maybe half the games this season. 2000 fans at West Brom will tell you how it is. Chants of you don’t know what you’re doing. You’re not fit to wear the shirt. We’re ******* shit. Then going into songs for players like Diedhiou, Freeman and Bobby Reid. That team out there today weren’t a team to be proud of and I think that is the bare minimum we are asking but we just are not getting. We lose 3-0 today while being aggressive and trying to make life difficult so be it. Instead we had 15 players who mostly didn’t know what they were doing. It wasn’t just a loss it was an embarrassment. No pride and no fight.
  10. I was pretty underwhelmed to be honest. Saying similar things after Bournemouth and Forest. Everything he said we know. What I don’t get is he talked about passengers after last match. Made 1 change to the XI taking out the Man of the Match and goalscorer alex scott. Sure was Massengo but could someone else not been dropped? Weimann looking very much like a passenger since QPR away. Then starts Tanner and Massengo. Has Scott and Bell on the bench against West Brom who we expect to be a tough match. Then proceeds to say he didn’t want to expose young players too much. Basically made Tanner a scapegoat today when everyone was shit. Then brought on Danny Simpson who can’t run who the proceeded to make the same mistake Tanner did. Pearson is just flat out getting in wrong lately. Matty James can’t play in a 2 in the championship. In general we don’t really have good enough CMs to do this with any combination. Maybe Massengo and Williams but not sure we’ll ever see that. Then playing Weimann behind the strikers. He struggles with the ball at his feet but was asked to be the link between midfield and attack. He runs a lot. Ok how much has that helped the last 3 games? Baker and Dasilva don’t look right next to each other in the 5. Dasilva also never sprints, rarely puts his body on the line and generally looks a shell of the player he was pre shin injuries. Makes the left side very slow. We continue to have no plan of how to start an attack outside lump it up to Martin no matter what. Their 6’5 cbs won 98% of the aerial duels. I just can’t see any plan. Making loads of changes for the sake of it now. I see someone struggling for solutions and slowly the players losing patience. His answers today were box standard say we weren’t good enough. Too many individuals didn’t show up. No shit! It was 3-0 and could have been 5 or 6. Things are starting to crumble and I’d have to see a hell of a performance next weekend to say I am wrong.
  11. I am not saying sack him because not sure who we could get or would want to come here. That said, I have decided NP isn’t the right manager for us imo. We don’t set up or play like modern championship clubs. I think we are at the start of the players not buying into this anymore as well. For a lack of a better term, he is a dinosaur. Mick McCarthy, Chris Hughton and Nigel Pearson. Names from the past and successful in a different era of football. He inherited and absolute mess and it will be a mess for another season after this minimum imo. So a bit of sympathy there. That said we have watched Cooper go to Forest and turn it around quickly. We have seen Ismael go to West Brom and make them a juggernaut. Even managers like Robins at Coventry or Jones at Luton having extreme success. Maybe Forest are better off financially and West Brom sure. What about Luton and Coventry though? We are not getting all we can from this squad even as dour as it is. We have seen glimpses of quality and fight but why can’t we sustain it? Imo that is from the main man. I am not expecting miracles but no home wins under the man and performances that are trending down are worrying signs. Not sure January is going to help much either with funds being what they are. So yea can’t really sack him and with him I worry about staying up. Also, so much for Dave Rennie too huh? Massengo muscle injury out basically a month. King muscle injury out for awhile. Williams muscle injury, fit for 3 games and muscle injury. Some saying Vyner injured. All clubs have injuries but still trending in a similar fashion.
  12. Been bullied a bit last few games but we expected that. Still looks a good buy imo but won’t be the level of a Webster which I think a lot of people kind of think of. Don’t think anyone singularly should be pointed out. Everyone was miles below their best today.
  13. To be fair a little better from the first half is still completely awful. Are 2 shots were a soft header comfortably saved from Martin. And Wells maybe trying to lob the keeper or float one back post. Martin also had an effort from the right side of the box which almost went out for a throw in on the left side of the pitch. With all due respect, there are 0 positives you can take from today.
  14. Gave them a game? What game what were you watching? ? We in no way shape or form gave them a game. Should have been 5-0 minimum.
  15. Spot on. Today felt like players have turned on Pearson. Might not be true but the performance was appalling. This team has been talked up by the staff as basically less talented than a lot of the league but the fitness and fight would be top notch. 3 games in a row that isn’t the case.
  16. Yes but who are the passengers? He keeps naming the same people in the squad. Maybe we will find out Saturday who he means but maybe time to see a few more of the young players on the bench.
  17. Can’t disagree. Thought he was fantastic. Impressed with his defending 1v1. Coming from Carlisle, it sounded like he was better getting forward than defending. Not the case at all. Looks an excellent defender and some flashes of ability going forward in his few games with us.
  18. Oh he frustrates the hell out of me too. Just going off today really. Not sure worse than anyone else. At least not massively.l in my eyes. Thought he was fine against Peterborough too. Only his second start after what? 6 weeks out? Was hoping NP could get something from him. Clearly didn’t impress NP today but still would like to see him get a couple more games under his belt to see if he can find some form. Not as if we are teeming with wide options at the minute. Hell he might end up playing in CM before long
  19. Agree about Pring at LB. Like him much more at LM or LWB. Was Tanner getting much more help from Wells on the right? Didn’t look it to me. No one was very good today for me but on a dark day, O’Dowda’s few bits on the ball stuck in memory. Down 2-0 at HT and took off our only real threat. I’d have maybe just pulled him to one side and told him he has 10 minutes to show more off the ball rather than hook him for a fullback down 2.
  20. No worse than Weimann or Wells today imo. Not my favourite player either. Got hooked at HT and yet we didn’t get much better defending after the change. Lost probably our only threat going forward too. Odd sub for me with Weimann and Wells out there.
  21. Calm down mate ? Nige might have agreed with you but he didn’t get much right today either. But yea just asked a simple question. I’d have kept O’Dowda on. How weimann gets away with 90 minutes every game I’ll never know. Don’t even see the running like we did at the start of the season. Rarely in the channels anymore. Doesn’t link up well. Poor first touch most of the time. Lacks composure most of the time. Idk we were down 2-0 at HT and took the only player threatening off.
  22. I can give them credit. They are a better side. That doesn’t mean it is ok to allow the amount of chances we did today. Doesn’t mean it is ok to not put in a tackle. Doesn’t mean it is ok to just sit in a shape and let them do what they like. Better team? Yes but so were QPR and Fulham but we made life difficult for them. Today we made Bournemouth look like Man City or Liverpool.
  23. What O’Dowda? Did I miss something? Thought he was the only one that offered something going forward in that first half. Drove at them a few times and got Cahill booked. Don’t remember a lack of effort. Not any more than anyone else
  24. I didn’t mind the change. That is until they threw him out wide. At that point would have been better off with Scott or Palmer
