Now that Derby are up and running, what happens to things like submitting prior year accounts with Companies House, and P&S submissions to EFL. Derby will have to have submitted their 22/23 projections by Mid/end June and must comply with: It would be great if there was transparency re any injections, although in Derby’s case, their income is likely to be one of the higher ones in Lg1, so achieving 75% on wages might be not too bad to achieve. League One is going to be crazy (again) this year. Wednesday have recruited ever so well, Peterborough will be no mugs, together with Ipswich (stifled recruitment this summer), Charlton (recruited well), etc, etc. Only three spots up for grabs, one or two are gonna feel the pinch next summer if they don’t get up this time around.

When I prep a “stats-pack” for Harry and his Scouting Group, I include some stuff re team style too. Wyscout does have a couple of metrics that “PAdj” - possession adjusted, but it is only a couple. That gives him a bit more context than just player v player.

That era of Hill, Stein, Moss etc was great….and got better with Walsh, Harford, etc

Out of interest, I spent some time last night looking at HNM’s stats compared to Flynn Downes who’s just gone to West Ham for £9m (plus add-ons). He did get 1 goal last season, but the only real place he excelled over Han, was in his general passing stats (and receiving the ball too). Of course, in Downes case, that is hugely weighted in his favour because of the style Swansea play. Downes is 23, 2 1/2 years older than Han. One goal and two assists didn’t scare West Ham off!!!
