  1. http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.php it is 60% in Lg1 / 55% in Lg2 Also, profit on players sold is included.
  2. At a really basic level: Income fell from £30.300m in 18/19 (the last year not impacted by Covid) to £18.258m, so £12m lost. EFL recent rules say £5m allowed. I still think this might be “£5m without having to prove it”, so if you want to set-off more you can, but you’ll have to provide the proof.
  3. I guess we’d need to ask him… …my view is that it’s great experience for him, he’ll learn loads, and guess that he’s getting as much preparation as possible in training in advance. He might also be thinking “wow, the gaffer has confidence in me”. But we are all guessing aren’t we? I’m just reflecting back on times when I had similar scenarios (at a much lower level, obviously ?), and saw them as an opportunity. Think Dave Barton should put him up for today’s pre-match media interview.
  4. Imho, Tommy Rowe was a fantastic free transfer signing in his first season, but whether little niggles etc caught up with him last year or not, I don’t think he was the same player we’d seen in season one. You are right, he was rushed back from one injury far too soon, and that really was the end of the road for him. With Pring and Dasilva doing decent jobs down our left side, I’m not sure Tommy would’ve got many minutes. Probably much better to have kept Nurse???
  5. Plus we still don’t know: how much lost revenue during Covid we’ve been able to exclude in P&S how quickly the EFL will adopt the new FFP rules My gut feel is that we will use the summer window to bring us within the £39m allowance over the reporting period, we won’t suffer a points penalty, nor embargo…but will just be under monitoring only.
  6. I reckon Sam Bell will take whatever minutes he can get in any position he can…at this stage of his career.
  7. Contract runs out June 2024. If he does go to Newcastle this summer, I suspect it will be for more than they paid for him, hence we ought to get our slice.

  9. Even Grove Life was “services to football”….providing transferred players with hotels, sorting their houses out, etc, etc. you can see why he likes a transfer, another opportunity to skim some £s off of the top!!!
  10. I take it there are many other recipients too….surely he’s not the only person who’s spent 32 years in football? Answer to 4) yes 5) if he could lick his own balls would he? answer: yes,
  11. I’d quite like some form of “NBA pass” where you can watch any game from any EFL game, but cost would be a difficult one to gauge. I quite like my VPN annual sub for watching away games on Robinstv. £125(ish) for lots of games. Maybe a home season ticket coupled with an away tv pass could be another alternative. Lots of options I guess.
  12. Watched the Lee Johnson Coaches Voice interview over the weekend. He referred to Man City as “City”. Very confusing!
  13. I’m guessing he put forward a 32 year award when he was on the EFL Board!
  14. If I find out she reads OTIB, then she can’t have a go at me for being on here!! My dad read I here that I wrote that my mum thought Norman Hunter was a handsome chap!!!
  15. The true definition of a Farmers League! ??? I once played as a ringer for Derry Hill on a Sunday….very interesting!!!
  16. My view is that it’s a squad game, and I try not to get drawn too much into “best eleven” type debates. We have seen this season that Nige has never had a full compliment to pick from, whether that be Semenyo missing early season, Baker for a large chunk, Williams and James sporadically, etc. etc. sometimes you do have to change for the opponent also. What I do hope to see next season is more progress towards a playing system (not necessarily formation) and whatever recruitment we do, be aligned to it. I think we have made progress, although not all of it is easy to spot. Knowing which players you don’t want is equally as important as knowing the ones you do. I think Nige has sorted this bit….getting them out of the club is the hard bit.
  17. Bloody ‘ell, can I get a refund on Kasey Palmer!
  18. Imho, I think he has already…but he can improve it more. Some of that is positional, switching from wide forward to a more inside forward. But I think you’re right in your first para, if you’re not sure where the next chance is coming from, you might take the wrong option out of desperation!
  19. Him and Han did well together in those couple of games they played together too.
