  1. "Wasn't quite black and white" = grey away kit!
  2. I'm pleased if it is O'Neill The shirts will most probably be made in Strabane, Norn Iron or in Dublin. I will be passing nearby to the Strabane factory next week. If I can, I will ask at the main desk if they are making it. Their Megastore in Derry is fantastic. I have been wondering for years if they could make decent football shirts as their GAA and Rugby sportswear is of really good quality. Finally, when was the last time we had a shirt made in the UK or even Europe? I think it was Nibor made in Stoke -on-Trent. You'll be lmpressed if it is O'Neill who has the contract.
  3. Excellent info. I just phoned one of the pubs as a result. All great. Thanks
  4. Oh To have come up with that pun....mine is a bit subtle!
  5. And one from Norn Iron although my plane us only delayed 20 minutes.
  6. And we were able to record the Sky red button version. Previous games over Christmas were unavailable. This meant we could sync it to Radio Brizz on Robins TV subscription.
  7. Hi Edd, I have used this book. Unfortunately, I can't see a Bernard Smith listed. If Bernard is in fact his preferred name, please let me know his first name. I can then find out more info for you. I enclose the page for Smith in case that helps.
  8. I think sir, you should become a politician as we could do with more attitudes like yours. It made me laugh and the statement was said with grace. Hopefully even Ian would laugh and take it as a compliment! I enjoy listening to Ian. Sometimes I think he is watching a different game to the one I watched on the red button etc, but he is a fan and speaks most of the time with grace as well. I don't know who grace is but she's getting around! As far as Dave is concerned with his spreadsheets, I want the A1 flip chart versions. If Fevs was a rock star, he'd be the bassist.
  9. Apologies if this info has been mentioned already.... I posted the NY Times article to my Glasgow Rangers mate. This was his reply.... ? Just as well Tavenier left City. He scored his 50th penalty (out of 59) for Gers last week.
  10. I know what you mean but it was supposed to be biased towards local teams. That was regional ITV in our day. Every region could choose to produce or buy in. ITV today is so much different to the 60s, 70s and even 80s version. Midlands had their own version called Star Soccer (Hugh Johns - he was the 1966 World Cup Final commentator. His description of that final Geoff Hurst goal was good....but no way as memorable as Kenneth Wolstenholme's classic). The Granada franchise had Kick Off Match (Manchester/Liverpool - Gerald Sinstadt). Anglia and HTV sometimes showed their own version. I agree totally with your Brian Moore summary. I always thought he was the best and just pipping David Coleman for the title. Regarding that 4th goal and alternative commentator versions this is funny.
  11. I also wanted to see the players doing their American Football/Basketball routine of encouragement after defending for a goal kick near the final whistle. Gary Owers was really impressed on radio brizz commentary. Sadly it wasn't shown. The defending was though. Wow.
  12. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/highlights-preston-north-end-1-2-bristol-city/ Watch this version. The commentator was giving out stats at the time of Alex's masterclass. However, on the replay the bloke says it was "Brilliant". Was this the same commentator as the itv version? If not, whoever he is....well done good sir.
  13. Flight booked ages ago. Tickets bought by a mate as well. I thought there would only be a few of us in the away end. How wrong was I! Really looking forward to the match already. We might be even playing an Albanian international.
  14. To Be Sad Is A Mad Way To Be. What an amazing track....and bassist. Ian plays a mean harp too!
  15. I make a lot of bread. It's the fat that is used in breadmaking that preserves the bread longer. I only use 5 ingredients. Baguettes use 4 as mentioned above. Olive oil is the fat content and the 5th ingredient. I also brew my own beer. The 'trub' (the Yeast etc that falls to the bottom of the barrel/keg) before conditioning makes excellent beer bread. I use the same recipe but the trub is part of the water.
  16. Another refund required. When are they going to learn? Email straight away to bristolcitytvsupport@streamamg.com
  17. I'm not getting anything. Anybody else in same situation?
  18. Why are people talking about Antoine on this thread? Tone, Wolf Blass Yellow Label was my benchmark in the late 80s/early 90s for a good, reliable Cabernet Sauvignon. When WB started sponsoring cricket teams, that was the start of their demise. About 15 years ago, I did a blind taste test on Sainsburys Taste The Difference CabSauv (same region) and WB Yellow Label. The latter was so awful in comparison and never bought However, last year I thought for old time sake let's revisit Yellow Label. Wow! It's back to being my benchmark again! Even their Chardonnay is interesting and tasty (more minerally than other aussie Chardonnays...if minerally is a thing/word). Penfolds is great as well. No doubt someone is going to hijack this threadand talk about Antoine again.....
