Silver lining if we get beat tonight is pulls Cardiff back into the relegation mix a bit.
We're not going to get beat!

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Weimann and Cornick out for Sykes and Wells. Take a point for sure
Hopefully so never really rated Weimann one good season the rest of the time running around with no end product and lacks awareness of his team mates positions so creates very little and in generall is a bit of a wild finisher.OK to bring on with 20 mins or so to go when the opposition may be tiring but not a starter there are better options in the squad.Too soon to judge Cornick.

Pretty confident he's going to be the biggest fee received in the championship this summer.
He's entered a ridiculous form at the moment and doesn't seem to be dipping, but improving on it! We surely can demand a huge huge fee
Does he really have ro leave this summer he's only 19 he could stay for another two seasons and not only be guranteed to play every week but be the focal point of the team(will he get that in the PL) and still be a very young player when he does move on for a big fee and contract.

Although Auxerre are again struggling, they have a rich history.
It's just a shame the great Guy Roux is no longer there, otherwise he would have Han-Noah playing for France within a season or two.
You are joking RIGHT?

The reason people are looking for a conspiracy is that it simply makes no sense that HNM is banished. There's something going on that we don't know, whatever that may be.
If his performances were anywhere near as good as some incredulously think it wouldn't matter about his contract situation Pearson would play him every week. He's been 4 out of 10 on average throughout his time at City so hardly irreplaceable or first name on the team sheet and is no real loss to the match day squad and needs to move on.

Scott been a bit off it recently I reckon. Hopefully gets a goal to gain some confidence soon.
Needs to be sold in fact should have been sold in the summer. A player who may potentially be consistently good is not what City require right now. Too many games he offers little need to cash in and strengthen in right areas.

What we all thinking for the team tomorrow.
IMO I would change to a back 4.
O' Leary
Tanner - Vyner - Atkinson - Pring
James
Massengo - Weimann - Scott
Wells Semenyo
I am confident Pearson will not change to a back 4 but this is what I would do.
Massengo!! Get over it he is never going to be what some thought he was and later hoped he would become, Let's be realistic not a chance would he have left Monaco for Bristol City if he was anything other than average at best.

I know this is a thread about HNM, but I have to say Joe Williams has been a huge let down for me.
I appreciate HNM blows hot and cold, but I think I'd rather have him in the midfield than not.
Williams and Massengo therein lies the problem, 2 players just like so many others at the club who are simply just not good enough if City want to compete throughout a whole season at the top of the Championship with a chance of promotion which judging by the reaction of a lot of people on this forum to City conceding a goal let alone losing a game seems to be what they expect. The reality is without new players of a higher calibre that is just not happening regardless of who is picking the team.

It’s honestly mental, people like you will let him get away with anything. It’s been an absolute shitshow.
He is getting nothing near close to watch this squad is capable of. Far too quick to give him an easy ride. He has made absolute zero improvement on the pitch and funnily enough that’s his job.
Should have gone over a year ago. Enough is fully enough now.
Who is consistently good in this squad? Nobody I can think of, the squad is bang average at best having said that I agree Pearson's time is up but whoever takes over needs to have some money to change the personnel as much as possible because this lot are simply not good enough.

If Pearson was sacked tonight, who would you want to come in and replace him?
I doubt whether Pearson will be sacked but I will be surprised if he doesn't resign in the next few weeks. No money to spend and has worked with this group which is a low end championship squad for some time and must conclude there's no more he can do to improve them.

I don't agree there's an outright conspiracy but I do feel like there's both an arrogance from the English and an anti-English sentiment from officials that you see a glimpse of in every "big" game. When they collide it's incredibly stressful/frustrating to watch.
There were long periods where we didn't get a free-kick outside our own half tonight, unfortunate that the penalty (before the penalties) was outside the area. Hard to disagree that it was a foul though. The Saka one, mentioned, before the goal could have been given, but there also was at least one occasion where an England player was taken down and the tackle to win the ball back was penalised despite it being a perfectly good challenge.
Both penalties were stonewall in reality, only at Ashton Gate would you not see them given, and don't forget, he waved away the second one.
For what it's worth, I don't think we were that much worse than France that we needed 2 penalties to get anything in 90 minutes.
The game is the same across the world and it is as simple as having to score more goals than the opposition. We failed to do that tonight.
Although we weren't in control of the game, equalising wouldn't have been against the run of play.
Worse teams than that have won competitions. God it's like watching City.
Like watching City! But England losing doesn't matter nearly as much as City losing and never will

God, I’ve seen tonnes of turgid group games in previous world cups, 0-0’s playing for pens in knock-out stages. We’ve seen some classics this World Cup. I’ve seen some of the best headed goals too.
We’ve seen that world football doesn’t have the gap it has in the past too. Morocco might be defensively structured, but they attack with pace on the break. More than one way to play football, more than one way to win. Why set up to suit your opponent?
Been a very good World Cup for excitement imho.
It's just my opinion I've watched every World cup since 1978 attending some games in USA and France and this for me is the poorest one I've seen but if you've enjoyed it fair enough. I guess when you've seen Brazil 82 and Maradona in 86 you can set the bar a little too high.
-
This is without any exception the worst the poorest World cup in living memory the standard of football has been absolutely atrocious they're going to have a real challenge putting a montage of highlights of this rubbish together, club football is so much better and more interesting than the dross served up at these International tournaments maybe make them every 10 years now.

No I am not I'm most certainly English it's just a fact that Southgate has had favourable draws I don't know how you can dispute that given the teams they've played and I hope this year is exactly the same and England win it regardless

Can you actually evidence this please?
Because personally I think you're chatting bollocks
Here's some evidence not bollocks at all
England's qualify group Poland Albania Hungary Andorra San Marino
England beat Panama Tunisia Colombla(on pens) and Sweden to reach the SF in WC2018
England beat Croatia Czech Republic Germany Ukraine and Denmark to reach Final Euro2020
A real lack of quality in that list of teams and it looks like the draw has been very kind to England in this tournament too the next round will likely be Senegal or Ecuador not France or Argentina that's why he's a lucky manager which is not a bad thing

Aside from a World Cup semi final, and a Euro's final. Aside from being the most successful manager since Alf Ramsey. You have some odd opinions on "proper managers".
Yes his record is impressive at first glance but he's only achieved that by virtue of having the easiest routes to the latter stages since England first entered an International tournament. Every qualifying group is effectively a bye into the tournament and a chance for the strikers to rack up the goals, very easy 1st round groups and for the 3rd time under his tenure England probably won't meet a team who could possibly win the tournament until at least the semi-final.This England squad is not one of best we've had their record is very misleading, As Napoleon i think once said I'd rather have a lucky general than a good general.

3-0 Watford. Merry Christmas.
Does supporting Bristol City ever give you any joy? Why the hell do you bother you do realise it's not compulsory to folow a football team it seems to envelop you in misery and gloom always negative.

Be happy with a committed performance today.
Realistically hoping for a draw.
Win would be sensational. Anything like has been seen last few weeks, gawd only knows.
Hope is a bastard isnt it??
Thought they played pretty well against Sheffield Utd and Swansea should have got a lot more out of those games. Also beat WBA the performances haven't been that bad over recent games there are those who prefer to highlight the negatives though.Might get a win today or at least a good performance.

Hopefully this will tempt fate, but he has not looked like he could hit a barn door ever since he was reinstated into the starting 11.
He should have been sold in the summer along with Alex Scott to generate rhe funds to recruit the players needed but the City fans (the worst in the country) would have gone into meltdown.Never happy with anything.

Look at all the names in the england team. How on earth can you get relegated and embarrassed by also rans?
Overrated most of them, poor defence no creativity in Central midfield and a striker whose goals have mainly come against weak opposition(easy qualifying groups) and via penalties. England are an average side nothing more.
