When defending Scott and Massengo fill the holes between Wilson and Atkinson. It's pretty much what happens now when we defend. The 3 become 5...with Williams making 6 when necessary.

Obviously Semenyo, Weimann and Wells also drop back as they do already.

Sykes over Massengo a much better player, the real conundrum is how to get Wilson Scott & Sykes in the starting 11. It can't be done in the current formation has to ne a 4-3-3.

It’s the thought that on Tuesday against Luton we are going to get battered with there 2 massive centre forwards , we are just too nice to play against and have for years oh for a Shaun Taylor in defence and a  wilbs up front

We're not going to get battered by Luton it will be a comfortable win by at least 2 goals in fact I think after the next 2 games City will be on 7 points. With Weimann continuing like last season Semenyo to come back and Scott, Naismith, and Williams can't stay out of form indefinitely things aren't nearly as bad as some are suggesting or even wanting it seems.

Bad looking.  The bookmakers were right. Only 4 teams had a better change of relegation than our side if you would place a bet 3 weeks ago. It is seems we will fight for that.  I have faith that we will remain in Championship. It will not be easy but we can do it.

Norwich are bottom of the league  did the bookmakers forecast that? This club really has the worst most negative pessimistic  fans in the country or anywhere else for that matter.

Note to "Nige" WE NEED A MIDFIELD and play defenders who know what to do.........round and round we go........as I wait for "the bed wetters" post from the usual posters.

I'm sure he knows the midfield is poor but it's well documented he has no money to spend. The solution is to sell Scott to fund new signings but the usual suspects who moan at everything will accuse the club of having no ambition and selling our best players the usual diatribe you get from City fans but as I said its the only solution available.

So which one of his cross that Weimann volleyed in against Millwall or the pass that slipped in Semenyo at Preston wasn’t an assist?

    Just curious.

I think I've included his assists in my assessment of over 70 appearances in 3 seasons. If you think 1 or 2 suggests an  outstanding  performer that's up to you.

Signing another French speaking player………especially a guy he knows well………you never know………:dunno:

I assume you're referring to Massengo,  Over 70 appearances 0 goals 1 assist he's not a strong tackler doesn't have a good passing range he's not quick or a goalscorer makes mistakes every game just what does he do to be rated so highly by some? Just cannot see it.

Don't get me wrong I like Kalas, but Klose seems a good leader/guide for the whole back line, Atkinson looks solid an will be our best defender in a few years time (imo) and Naismith is coming off the back of the best season of any of them. So he'd have to earn his place back, something he's definitely capable of doing.

Kalas will hopefully be sold on recoup a small amount of the vast fee Chelsea managed to get(the term saw them coming springs to mind) from city. His performances have  been ok or average for most of his time at the club, taking into account the fee and salary must rank as one of the worst signings in recent times.

Not at our best these last 2 games but a draw in Germany is never a bad result.

People can call Southgate negative all they want (and they would be right to an extent) but the man gets us results and a semi final and final are testament to that.

I wouldn't say negative but lucky, The luck of the draw in 2  tournaments didn't have to beat too much to reach a final and a semi-final. Can he do it a third time? Who needs a good manager when you can have a lucky one.

Not sure why we’d get rid of Kalas

Don't think the club should try hard to persuade him to stay apart from the season alongside Webster (which was on loan) he"s been average at best and poor on many occasions. Not been worth the fee or the salary maybe it would be good for both parties if he moved on.

I’m completely realistic. However, the players are better than the performances they have been putting in.

Did you say that when Holden was manager and Johnson before that because a lot of City fans did(many on this forum). The expectations are too high given

the players we attract and produce, the lower reaches of the Championship is the limit to what can be consistently achieved each season.

Players can look a lot better or worse depending on their managers ability to manage them. Look at Forest. Transformed by a new manager.

I’ve never said the players are play off quality. They aren’t. But they are better than Pearson has got them performing

With the current squad avoiding a relegation battle is  a successful season anything better is an  exceptional season. And it looks like  the former is achieved albeit with a bit of good fortune regarding points deductions the fans need to get  realistic about where the club is  at present.

Yeah. Bentley, Kalas, James, Weimann, Martin, Klose, Dasilva all have no history of being good Championship players.   Massengo, Scott, Semenyo aren’t all talented youngsters.  No sign of that at all.

Every player is bottom 6. Got it.

How many of the clubs in the top half of this division would swap what they currently have for any of the above? very few if any at present. The three young players are just potential at this stage and woefully inconsistent in their performances the supporters of this club massively overrate our players every season, when you actually see them in action against opposition its a reality check. This squad of players regardless of the manager will not get anywhere near the top six, Yes Pearson's been largely disappointing but each week he  invariably picks a team that's  up against better opposition and sometimes they get a result but the majority of the time they won't.

He's 20 years old. At that age my bad days outnumbered my good ones as I'm sure it did for a lot of us. There certainly wasn't a lack of effort from Han.

Alex Scott was just as poor and there doesn't seem to be the same accusations laid at his door.

Personally, I don't think there's anything in today more than that.

Alex Scott has been  consistently good Massengo is still having 1 decent game followed by 6 poor games. Frequently  giving the ball away, stupid free kicks bad back passes and he was doing all of that 2 years ago,his game has not progressed very much at all.Another i wouldn't  be  disappointed to see move on at the end of the season.
