Do you think it could work though and provide better entertainment

I think Nasmith is a cracking player sadly he's quite fragile since he's come to us. His could alternate with James quite well, he provides excellent cover for the defence while his range of passing is also excellent I think it's by far his best position.

Knight is quality and his linkup, play is amazing and better deployed in a deeper role. Then we can use the pace and creativity Infront of those two.

I think ultimately that allows the likes of Conway to hassle the defenders sitting on the last man generally being a pain in the ass.  Then I won't get pissed off with Manning wondering why when he's employing a low block so ******* often that he's wondering why we have issues in the final third.

Naismith in the James role and here’s a crazy thought !

Drop Jason Knight back into the ball carrying role instead of playing him in a position that doesn’t make the most of his strengths

That amused me, I love that formation I bet we don't see it this season.

When Pearson was sacked I said it was a clueless decision. I thought he was doing a decent job based on our squad. I didn’t think that this squad was getting anywhere near the top six even with Pearson. It is a mid table squad.

Accepted and agree with a lot of it, but for the level to drop from 1.4 to 1.15 and 40% to 30% so far, is somewhat alarming.

I was hopeful of 63-65 points, top half even if lower top half, maybe even 10th.

Below 60 points would be disappointing, bottom half again likewise.

It's irrelivent where we finish this season, we sacked the best manager we have had in a long time and replace him and his backroom staff with a gamble.  I'm truly gutted about this season but I really worry about the players next season and the finish next season, his post match interviews are utterly uninspiring dross, if he says step up one more time I'm going to kick a puppy.

Don’t worry. Easily forgotten. You didn’t miss much. He wasn’t very good.
I was actually banned for the majority of that period anyway so didn’t enjoy the full pleasure of his abilities.

    Was he a Pulis mess.

I was reading all about how you can see the improvement in players and tactics from so many recently.

    Utter nonsense.

Manning himself said players have to want to learn after the latest shit show today. Maybe they don’t want to learn from him, regardless of the pretend improvements I can’t see!

I thought they were very coachable.....

  6. I think overtime we will see less of Pearsons influence on the team which I think is a bad thing because we've spent a long time pivoting the team in that direction.  I think Manning in my opinion needs to grow as a manager at this level, he doesn't have all the answers yet.  And then we will need pivot the team again to suit a different style of play.

Poor decision by Manning.  Could set his whole career back.  A boy amongst men

😂 It's Mannings fault the boy wasn't upto the mark?

Midweek world beater is ruined by the weekend he'll bounce back give the boy a break.

Got to say, this is ridiculous.

Plymouth (15th) could be on 39 if they were to win their game in hand.

Some Hull fans booing Rosenior yesterday (0-1 Swansea)!

Ipswich are doing a proper Arsenal at the moment, falling away in the new year in epic style.

I dont think Ipswich will be lucky to make the playoffs.

They're already 11 clear of the next team below them and 3 teams making up the 11+ point gap will be unlikely.

However they could be lucky to win the playoffs, but that will remain to be seen until they take place.

I'll tell you where I'm coming from around Ipswich even we've taken 3 points out of their lead over the last 10 games.  The likes of Sunderland and Coventry are taking way more out them 10 points ain't that much if you're dropping 4 points to your rivals every six games.  At this rate I recon they will finish 6th with a way smaller gap than many expected December time.

I think Ipswich have enough points and should make the playoffs at least. Whether they win them a totally different issue. Since mid December though they are running aground..

Gambled Idk, Ashton seems on a tighter leash there if you mean financially.

They've had a fair few expensive loans in, not sure it's going to pay off for them.  If they don't fall away completely which they currently look like doing then they will be facing either Southampton or Leeds in the playoffs which should be too much for them.

Like I've said previously, I would not have sacked NP when they did ( plenty of times over the last couple of seasons I might have done).

I think those in charge have a completely different view of our squad than we do. However I would not say Luton or Ipswich have better teams or squads than us this season and last season and a few of the other teams that made the play offs were at best the same level of ability as us.

This is a bit of incoherent are you saying we should be promoted because Luton got up?  Ipswich have gambled and are falling away my bet is they end up in the playoffs if they're lucky in May.

I've never seen so many people moan as I have since manning took charge.  Some of the flack he has took is a joke. New to this standard and club it would always take a bit of time.  We have put good performances in the cup and if we can replicate that in the league we will do well.  Watford away was outstanding and today was also pretty spot on from the small part i watched ( I was working today)

I really think that people are giving him the flack for decisions that are beyond his control (NP sacking).

We are safe this season, so just sit back, shut the fck up and lets see what happens in August.

    EDIT

Oh and if you want to slag me off for daring to see things different, go ahead. I could not give a shit.

If watching City really pisses you off that much, you can always go and watch the sags. You wont be missed.

He's generally been given the benefit of the doubt, but he's not beyond criticism.

Maybe you're conflating general distain for the hierarchy over the sacking of Pearson with criticism of Manning.  For example ripping a performance as not top six is not a dig at Manning it's aimed at the hierarchy.

Out of interest, what was weaker about our eleven today?  We have a fairly similar ability squad in general.  Pring, TGH back in today for example.

I think those two are a good example of where we weren't weaker, but starting a tiered Bell Infront of Tanner, Wells/Knight up top over Conway/Wells I would assume is down to Knight recovering better.  Cornick over Anis who's been good recently, I would also assume is down to recovery.  McCrorie over Tanner for me in that shape.  There were lots of changes not surprising given that recovery for different individuals will have played a role.

A huge sense of disappointment, frustration and anger about the second half performance.

No problem with a half-time sub (assume Cornick a knock), but why the change in shape from the first half where we controlled so much of the 45 mins?

They played through us, around us, behind us.  We had no answer.  CB spacing went to pot as they slid in their forwards.

To end, well done though, three points, winless run over, a big boost after a tough set of fixtures.

    And chilllllllllll. 😉

I get you, but I think you're missing the fact he's put out a weaker 11 today (forced) it certainly wouldn't have been my pick, it's worked out and he's though great, changed to the formation that was effective against Forrest and balls up the second half.

I think we had some seriously leggy players today, and they've done exceptionally well to get the win away from home, it's mental to think they, got back at 2am Thursday did recovery stretching and prep for this game Thursday afternoon most likely, then traveled up to Boro Friday and then got this result.

They all deserve a nice rest Monday with a nice sports massage.

  15. I hope that we stop ******* about committing hari-kari every bloody 4 years or so.

Expectations we will bobble around in this div for a few seasons before having a shocking slide back into league one, only to appoint a decent manager who wins everything in sight, then we won't back him, sack him and then we will have a bit of a wobble, followed by an financial blip, and another wobble some stability for a bit, and then rinse and repeat until I retire.
