The first thing I noticed is that you didn't call them the prayoffs in the first sentence, and then you went and spoiled it.

It’s a play on words pillred based entirely on fans who’s team are involved. They all want their team to get promotion and ‘pray’ that they do.

  2. Pompey of course and almost certainly Derby but the play offs are too close to call with four clubs all within two points of each other all looking for three more points to guarantee a pray off place.

Personally I hope  Lincoln City can stay in 6th and are at Sincil Bank today facing already promoted Pompey who hopefully are already ‘on the beach’. If they can win the pray offs then it’ll be a definite away trip for me next season.

Lincoln is a beautiful City having spent lots of time there visiting my paternal g’father as a lad.

Exactly and as we were in the lower leagues, it was totally appropriate for our position.

After seeing that Terry Cooper interview with him in tears of pride after us beating Bolton, I'll never doubt the value of that competition to him, especially when you look at the honours he enjoyed with Leeds.  That was us rising from the ashes of 1982 and there was nothing embarrassing about seeing the club beginning to find its way back to a respectable place again.  Whilst I'd never want to see us in that competition again, it was just what we needed at that time to give the club a huge lift and some self-belief.

    Everyone to their own though.

Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be Brizzle.

  4. In football process generally means building a squad with the right type of player to fit into the managers style of play. Clearly if the academy plays using the same style then it easier for the graduate to make the step up.

A process means the same in any industry - simply baking a cake is a process.

No point selling Conway anywhere near for 3m - surely we’d get closer to 1m in compensation at the end of his contract?

if he’s kept here next year, it’s in his own interest to pull out all stops & not sulk as his appeal as a free agent will increase or decline in line with his form.

Only sell if it’s an offer that can’t be refused as it will cost more than 3m to replace like for like.

I’m probably a lone voice when it comes to Conway - I wouldn’t remotely bothered if he moved on. He misses too many one on ones, isn’t a poacher as Tony ‘tap in’ Thorpe was and doesn’t have strength or power to hassle and bully defenders as Semenyo did. He’s too lightweight and wouldn’t get into any of the top Championship clubs.

He’s overrated on here by many posters.

If an offer came in for £1m - bite their hand off!

Revolut card is the way to go, keep your other cards in the room safe, load just what you need for the day onto the revolut card via the phone app .....and don't lose your phone!

Revolut cards weren’t available the last time that I was in Barca CR. I’ll look into it if I visit again.

How awful hopefully it didn't spoil holiday and you didn't have anything of great value in your wallet - guessing 30 euros, bowls club membership card, pack of condoms 4 years past their use by date, and a signed photo of Gary Johnson with the eyes gouged out ! ??

It was a bloody nuisance having to report the theft to the police who couldn’t initially find anyone who spoke English. Eventually one showed up and I was able to cancel all my cards - naturally they had all relevant contact numbers. I got a crime number which enabled me to claim back on my insurance - ended up with a new wallet out of the experience.

I’d make the mistake of using a public ATM and drew out 300e where they’d obviously been watching.

The copper said they get thefts reported daily and I had to sit thru two albums of mug shots.

  8. Another trip worth doing is the open top tourist buses.there were 3 different routes all  coded and interchangeable and take you all over the city. Buy a day ticket and you’ll have access to all the sights. We went to Guell park and the Camp Nuo by bus! The tour around the stadium is well worth the effort.

I don't think it's been mentioned but Placa Reial, just off la Rambla (nearest metro: Liceu) is a great picturesque little square with restaurants/cafes/bars aplenty, lovely tall palm trees & great for a spot of people watching whilst sipping a cold cerveza.

That’s exactly where we used to eat and very reasonably priced by Barca standards.

The city is full of Gaudi’s work including the cathedral  and the lampposts in Placa Reial. Park Guell and Casa mila where there are no straight lines - a remarkable place.

Like you I think it’s the 9 and 10 in, and everything else is a reaction to outgoings.  But the size of squad won’t be massive.

Phew……..that seems a lot and I thought that smarmy Ashton had moved on………….:)

Maybe the all knowing Ian Gay can tell us………..:dunno:

Tommy Conway is nowhere near ready for a step up (and not sure he ever will be) and would be better off staying here at the moment.

Not sure we have seen enough of Twine to really judge him, but clearly not worth a seven figure transfer fee, at least yet.

I agree on both highlighted points wendy - unless the SPL is considered a ‘step up’ for Conway…….……:cool2:

As for Twine - no we haven’t seen enough of him particularly as he’s been missing and won’t have yet regained the match sharpness. Any player that’s been injured for quite some time would have the same readjustment to match fitness.

That said the glimpses we have seen have shown what a fully fit Twine would bring. His set piece delivery is excellent as we saw at Norwich and he can certainly see a pass. He and Williams in midfield would be quite a prospect - I don’t think he’s worth anywhere near £5m quoted tho but if City could get him for half that or maybe £3m then go for it.

Building tall is probably the best solution for Bristols lack of housing.

I wonder why the Debenhams building isn’t being converted into flats/apartments? It’s a massive premises with enough space for literally dozens of them.

Demolishing the building seems unnecessary to me - but then I’m not and engineer or architect.

With Season Card prices going up year on year, the games being moved around making it harder for some to plan games and some would be able to just watch at home ?
I can only see a negative impact.

    EDIT;

Those fixture lists will be interesting. They will have everyone at 3pm on a Saturday to start , and we will have to wait until Sky feels fit to let us know when the games will actually take place.

Not looking forward to it in that respect.

It’ll be far worse if City ever reach the PL.  Bitter sweet for me if it ever happens.

Great interview. Obviously the usual suspects won't agree.

I didn’t think it was great but it was different to the usual coaching soundbites that he’s been coming out with. He also looked and sounded much more relaxed that usual.

That might be because City are on a decent run and only two games away from the end of the season.
