West Ham just got a 95th minute equaliser against Aston Villa, FT 1-1

West Ham now on 14 points; gap between them & City now extended to eight points.

City need to win against Man City tonight now to avoid relegation...

Our ladies aren’t strong enough for the WSL but too strong for the Championship and it’ll remain that way unless some serious investment is forthcoming.

How the Ref misses that Pen first time I'll never know. Bottles it knowing VAR is there

Yeah - it was stonewall pen with the ref literally 10 yards away looking right at it. Amazing that he didn’t give it immediately.

I like what Manning is trying to do.
I am cautiously optimistic about next season.
I’ve not felt this positive for years.

It’s taken me and plenty of others quite a time to see what exactly Manning is actually doing and tbf I’m still not sure. That said whatever it is seems to paying benefits with the unbeaten run City have been on so it’s clearly been working.

This summers business will give us a better idea of what he’s about, who he offers new deals to plus the new signings and of course the outgoing players.

You may need to change your strap line to ‘I only believe it when I read it on the OS (and provided I have not misread it).’ 😃

Seriously though it’s a shame you thought that and perhaps City comms could have been clearer, ie hammer home it was free.

Perhaps I wasn’t the only one but the guys I car share with thought it was ticket only - not they’d have been interested.

Imagine if we had had him or his ilk all season, as literally everyone said in August 😡

His injury was the issue. Not sure how many games he missed but around 12 at a guess.

The awards followed by the lap of appreciation followed by the Wurzels was known about before the match, and they were hardly likely to do 2 laps of thanks (seemed the same as every last home match to me)! They came around with their partners and kids and they were signing autographs and taking photos for people - Manning too.

Did anyone stay to watch the Wurzels? I didn’t even stay for the awards.

They were 19-0 with just 10 minutes to go, 3 tries in 10 mins the last coming with literally seconds on the clock. Unbelievable comeback,  With Thacker now fit again they should be able to play their first choice team for Saracens and hopefully Quins.

Just watched the highlights CR and even tho I knew the result it was still thrilling to watch. Thackers break leading to the third try was terrific.

My buddy is a die hard Bears fan and watched the game on TNT 5 which is the equivalent to the red button I believe. He was obviously well chuffed!

Messed up? You mean when he rounded the keeper and would have scored, if he wasn’t fouled?

When trying to round the keeper his heavy touch saw the ball overrun - he was lucky that the keeper brought him down. Had that not happened Conway would have missed yet another one on one.

Take a look at the highlights to see what I’m saying.

In League One. He wasn’t good enough at our current level.

Massive gulf in standard, as Matty Taylor found out.

And Mo Eisa, Jon Akinde and believe it or not so did Sammy Szmodics by his own admission and look what player he turned out to become.

Particularly from someone who lauds Tony “2 Championship goals in my entire career” Thorpe.

Conway’s career will far surpass that lazy waster.

Thorpe scored 51 goals in 128 games for City. He was poor man’s Jimmy Greaves - done bugger all game but scored a goal or two……….I’d take striker like that anytime..

@Robbored Just chooses an opposing opinion to be contrarian just enough to get attention

It’s my view that Conway is seriously overrated my some posters on here. It’s an opinion Sturny……..…:cool2:

I’m not taking refuse in the false security of consensus.

Tommy will get a team that creates chances 15 ish goals a season in the Championship, he's 21 and seems to have come back from his injuries well, physically he also ranks pretty well in the Championship, all things that teams would be happy to pay that amount for, if he has a very good season and bags 20 for them which he'd be very capable of doing his value jumps to £15m and even if they don't go up they profit on him.

15 goals - how many were penalties?…….:dunno: I get that he has to bury them  but essentially pens are a free shot at goal.

To me Conway is lightweight and misses too many one on ones. He messed one up today but got lucky and won a penalty.

I liked him. He let a lot go which allowed some old fashioned but clean tackles to be made. The back to back Pring and Williams tackles are fouls during most games.

I thought he was pretty good as well. Letting ‘meaty’ but fair challenges go was definitely a plus. Lots of other refs would have seen a foul when in fact they were just tough tackles.

It'll be more than £2m for Conway, my guess £5m to £7m, one of the relegated teams (or whoever stays down from play offs) or maybe even Celtic/Rangers would pay that much for him. If it was only £2m you hold on to him and take the compensation you'd get when he's OOC as it wouldn't be far off that if not more anyway.

If City can get that amount for Conway then fair play but at the same time whoever pays it are mugs in my view.

How many chances did he miss today? I can think of two that a proper striker would have buried. The penalty he won and then converted was because he’d messed up another one and one and the keeper brought him down. How many pens has got this season? - they add to his tally of course.

It was £5m in January, I’m not convinced there’s as much wiggle-room as people hope.

Thing is - we don’t know yet if there’ll be any wriggle room. Much will depend on the outgoing income. Obviously some players will be moving on, Conway possibly who’s probably our best asset - £2m for him and who knows?

Twine was unable to play as much as he’d wanted but when he did play there were definitely signs of his class and today’s performance certainly showed off that class - I was a little disappointed when he got subbed.

  16. Excellent game today, looked really sharp and linked up play really well. His performance was capped off with a well taken free kick.

Manning wants to sign him and if he has a little financial wriggle room Burnley may well take far less than the inflated £5m they’ve been asking for.

An offer of £2.5m might just tempt them……….:dunno:

Might have been different if they`d scored the pen that would have put them one up. You have to feel for the player, what a time to slip!

I haven’t seen any match report yet having just got back from AG.
