Exactly right - any negative public comments regarding Ashton would reflect badly on SL himself who appointed him. Point is - SL and many of us were conned by the smooth fraud Ashton and he then carried on conning others particularly his current employers. Spot on but it won’t happen. The club would have a raft of complaints from angry SC holders losing their seats. It might get be an option to offer those SS SC holders access to the south stand but with unreserved seating.

The away fans are essentially ’kettled’ in Atyeo after the final whistle and not allowed to exit until all the home fans have left. They then depart either to their cars or coaches. It’s entirely a police decision to reduce the possibility of trouble.

That’s not going to happen. The EE is long gone. Ideally City fans should be in the Atyeo where any noise is generated outward and can be heard all over AG but the police want the Atyeo for away fans only for easier exiting.

Not just me that can’t hear the tannoy Silvio, none of others around me can’t hear it clearly either. I doubt anyone can hear the singing section very clearly either but we can all hear the away fans loud and clear

Much of the lack of atmosphere at many games is due to location of the ‘singing section’ tucked away in the corner of the SS. Other parts of the stadium often struggle to hear them. Certainly in the Dolman they’re pretty much inaudible and that must affect any creation of atmosphere. Ideally the singing section should behind either goal, preferably the Atyeo where the away fans often make such a din but A&S police won’t allow it as they want the away fans to exit the stadium via the Winterstoke Rd.

Good assessment JD - pretty much as I saw the game. However…….King looked way of the pace and pretty ineffective and no surprise to see him replaced but Massengo was superb the entire game and without him in midfield PNE would have created more opportunities and City may well have lost the game. He was definitely MoM by some distance. Not a hugely disappointing result by a long chalk. Onwards and upwards to face Luton on Wednesday eve under the lights - always a great atmosphere at a night game.

I agree that after Jim White the station is utter crap. I only listen between 10am and 1pm when he and Simon Jordan are on.

Lots of conspiracy theories being discussed on TalkSport including the IPL contract theory. Apparently the test will be rescheduled………………umm……..when will that be? Huge financial implications as well and the Indians getting some fearful criticism - they apparently didn’t want the fifth test match originally and now they’re claiming that they can’t raise a side because of covid - utter bullocks. Kohli getting the finger pointing right at him.

Is it? I’m not so sure. India haven’t won a series in England in decades (1971) and were very handily placed at 2-1 to win another series. They’d have been desperate to do it again. However the upcoming IPL would have been a huge factor in the decision as Tom pointed out.

Spot on Tom. The IPL is a huge and very lucrative league particularly for the players, the broadcasters and of course Indian tourism and for it to continue to be the best T20 competition worldwide they need the best players to be available. Having to miss matches because of having to isolate would hugely weaken the competition.
