Yes, but quality is quality. Any rate Murphy comes from arguably same level
Down here Brighton are reported to be interested
Nothing to say city might already be scouting him but my first thought was that there must be others interested. Smacks of a Peterborough investment.

What a season.
Wonder if we see Ipswich make a move for him, they do like these explosive players.

Bill sharp on for Hull hopefully he stays quiet

Sunderland had a bit of a shit one this season, did not expect to see them there.

Me too
Hull have no chance now though with WBA 3 up and would have to have brum thump Norwich by several goals. I bet the fans there are muted.

Rotherham 5 goals haha
Yeah I think that’s slightly worse than our result currently.

Where will Szmodics be next season, I wonder.
Anywhere between league 1 and prem haha

When’s the last time we lost a game by this margin or even a 3 goal one? Doesn’t happen very often

The flak Ashton got on here (including from me)
Then off he goes to back to back promotions.
The biggest kick in the teeth and reality check.
All those fans on here who back the Lansdown’s to the hilt…just think about Mark Ashton celebrating tonight what we should have done years ago.Another team to add to that list….
Struggled the first two seasons didn’t he? From what people have said on here they have spent a fortune to get up into the championship, then a bit more on top to get into the prem riding that wave of momentum.

Not with the Lansdown family at the helm...
Always said this, although really what is it they actually do wrong? Had this discussion numerous times and the following comes out. Feel free to add.
Is it interference from Tinnion and Lansdown
Is it continuously hiring the wrong man or men for the club?
Is it just because we had our chance under GJ and missed it? Huddersfield, Blackpool had their lucky days.
Are we not forward thinking enough as a club? Does Lansdown try to emulate others too often? See Brighton, Brentford and Luton.
Do we overcomplicate the vision? The pillars was a nonsense structure and the no players over 26 or whatever it was.
Is it the culture ? Not really sure what the culture is like within the club but having a little backstabber like tinnion can’t help.
Are we seen as a stepping stone? By the time we get a squad together to compete we lose our best players.

At Wigan yesterday, a number were wearing clown outfits - and 776 of their supporters travelled from Bristol to see them wearing it.
Not a bad turn out for a small club

On Nigel Pearson, I'm with you. But Danny Wilson? nah - he had a ridiculous squad and couldnt get us promoted. Cant blame tins for that
Think one of his biggest mistakes was not playing Lita sooner.

This thread isn’t good reading, pretty pissed off with Tinnion, so if true he has been instrumental in the sacking of Wilson and Pearson?
Wilson was loved by fans from memory although looking back now if he would have sorted the drinking culture out I think we would have been promoted.
Pearson completely turns the club around, makes the Lansdowns lots of money by progressing some youth players (although I guess he had no choice) and is again loved by majority of the fans base.
Sounds like Tinnion gets a bit jealous to me

The Swansea game was the final nail in the coffin for me.
I remember just sitting there thinking how incredibly shite it was. Yes we won but it was probably one of the worst games I've ever watched where we've won.
Yeah same for many from memory but it was a must win. I would say though that the defeats to the bottom two Sheff Wed and QPR is what done it. Despite the two going on very good runs after they beat us it was seen as a wake up, after the boro and famous Southampton win .

No, I hate it all the time.
Fair enough mate, I guess from my point of view VAR whilst inconsistent at times also affects the big clubs sometimes which is something I don’t remember seeing as much before VAR.

I don’t care. Accept the element of human error to preserve the wonder of the game and the joy of the moment.
This is what happens when the rules matter more than the game.
It was a question as I’m not watching the game but surely if it’s the correct decision that’s why VAR was brought in for?
Or do we pick and choose when VAR is crap based on our bias?

I really dislike Bruno Fernandes, his attitude this half has been an embarrassment. Come on Coventry
He’s a tosser can’t stand him. Ferguson would never have kept a player like that around.

VAR ruins the great moments.
Was it the correct decision?

I get their frustration, remember our lack of penalty decisions for two or three seasons where at the worst point we were the lowest side awarded penalties in Europe? for those three or four seasons bottom four or five in league for awarded penalties.
Pearson openly vented his frustration publicly and the response from everyone else was “You need to get the ball in the box more…” or it “evens out”. Well it didn’t but I guess we have had a bit more luck this season.
If was us I think we would be losing our shit too

Fair play to Cardiff min, I was under the impression by the players they signed that they were financially hindered and brought in has beens.

Nahki only has good things to say about Manning:
The latest man in charge in BS3 may only be five years Wells’ senior but in the relatively short period he’s been in place, he’s certainly left an impression on the striker with his openness and willingness to try and improve each and every individual, irrrespctive of whether they’re 33 or 23.
“All managers are different, but what I would say, in working with the gaffer is, first and foremost, he’s a great person, he loves the game, he’s 100 per cent committed to his job and, us as players, he really gives you that feeling that he wants you to progress as player; whether you’re a 19-year-old coming through or an experienced player like myself, there’s always room for improvement,” Wells added.
“His door is open, you walk in to have a chat and next thing you know you’ve been in his office for an hour, you’ve been watching clips, you’ve spoken about things and that’s one of the biggest things that I can say is great about him, it’s continuously wanting to improve you as a player, improve the team, take zero shortcuts and has the way and a process at how he wants to do things and I think it’s coming to fruition, so hats off to him, he’s been a breath of fresh air since he’s been in with his ideas and his training methods.
Ok but he’s not going to say anything negative about him is he?

You know the Lansdowns and tinnion will always think that our opinion is worthless. We will most likely beat our points tally of last season and if manage a good return and beat it by a few points they will deem the changes made as a success.
In all fairness though you can’t take away the good form of late and whether you dislike Manning’s style he has done well recently.

Scenes at Pompy mind.
Attendances this past season
in Football Chat
Posted
Yeah I think there are a lot of variables though like who you are playing on what days etc. Also some clubs like Preston historically take loads to teams around them and we get our allocation limited in games like Swansea and Cardiff. But you are right we should have higher attendances.
However those home attendances aren’t exactly accurate are they? There were several games at home where fans on here were saying that there was a few thousand short of what was being announced. I guess that happens everywhere but hard to tell.
