The Office (UK): Ipswich Town edition
GreedyHarry replied to LondonBristolian's topic in Football Chat
Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant -
Must check work before handing in, Must check work before handing in, Must……

Harmless randomness interspersed with useful info and the occasional gem. I value NTTDS’s input to be honest. Like many others have said, the ignore function is under-utilised. I use it myself and find it very helpful to sift out posters that are offensive or deliberately argument. Two things Nev cannot be accused of. Each to their own though.

green football shirts to be banned?
GreedyHarry replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
Black and red is absolutely the worst because it is so unexpected by everybody else. -
green football shirts to be banned?
GreedyHarry replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
For me yes. If only one team was striped and the other was one colour that is pretty perfect. Any kind of shape differentiation is always helpful. -
The last time you went down Ashton Gate?
GreedyHarry replied to Bristol Oil Services's topic in Football Chat
Bournemouth at home last autumn. Couldn’t differentiate between the colours although the ones who never touched the ball were obviously city! Since then I’ve become a grumpy old man and prefer lockdown when it was illegal for any other f***ker to come near me ? -
If it does, I think it’s an immediate 15 point deduction for starting a season in administration. I believe it’s a blanket penalty as well so no wriggle room.

Edited to be factual

I don’t think Conference clubs used to get much more than the scores read out, but when the dearly beloved of North Bristol went down they tried that for one week on PW. The wailing and gnashing of teeth in reaction to the perceived “unfairness” was heard loud and clear. The next week all the PW area Conference clubs had a poor definition, single camera angle, replay of the goals. I guess if they had to start doing it for one they had to do it for all. (Thereby proving that they were completely fair in the first place but caved in to a bunch of unwashed, championship ready moaning gits).

Alternative Championship Table - Squad Market Value
GreedyHarry replied to Davefevs's topic in Football Chat
Hmmm, so does that mean we finished one place below what should have been expected by the price of the squad? If so, that feels quite comfortable as it means we didn’t really underperform. -
Forest need to add New Scotland Yard and The Met to that list of entities to blame?. Also in what world do you send an email mid-morning on a Thursday and then take ‘next steps’ Monday afternoon as you deem enough time has elapsed for a response. A whole one and two half working days later!!!

What is the class? Maybe, “best toast in 32 years”?
-
That’s excellent. Now let’s stretch your abilities a bit and not use multiples of ten. For instance, if the year is 2022, how many consecutive years have Rovers been a league club? ?
-
I can hear buttons being frantically pressed on calculators across North Bristol to show that, ummm, as a percentage of the amount of fingers on each hand, when divided by the sum of sisters who are aunts, and multiplied by the co-efficient of championship ready sprinklers, da roverzzzzz are the bestest fans for away support in the entire universe. Or something.

Season Tickets 2022/23 (12,000 sold as at 10th May)
GreedyHarry replied to phantom's topic in Football Chat
Other conclusion - the club provides the option to save money by not paying for somebody to push the computer buttons for you. -
Not really like that at all, unless, of course you admitting that you are a village club, and it was a massive achievement to score a goal. ?

I think the best adjective for the star would be dismal?

Ashton gate halt and the Portishead rail line (Merged)
GreedyHarry replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
Not to mention the car trains and the new rolling stock for TPE that was shipped to Portbury in the intervening years, and currently seeing steel coil being offloaded at Portbury for onward rail distribution. Yep, it was absolute bull crap. -
Didn’t like driving on motorways

POTD for me next season if I go to any. I’ve used my season ticket for myself about 6 times this season. If it’s not a 3pm Saturday kick off it’s really difficult for me to get there but that’s always been the case. The football also isn’t the main reason ( although that hasn’t been brill). It’s the way people now behave since we’ve come through the lockdowns. Maybe it’s me but I just can’t put up with it any more #grumpyoldman?

Dave Martin. Vague recollections of him having an argument with another player who then pushed him. Martin then fell backwards at the same time as kicking the other bloke in the balls before he hit the deck.

Stoke City away match day thread
GreedyHarry replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Nah, they’re just trying to hide the number 9 in a bid to stop the howls of protest ? -
For a moment I thought you were differentiating north and south Bristol. Took me a couple of reads to get you meant the country.?

Well I’m impressed by Danh1. Pretty good English and a reasonable post for somebody born in 2015.
