  1. Also all verbs seem to be the English with io on the end instead of ing. No parking - dim parkio No cycling - dim cyclio So I guess when the hedlu start you just say dim hitio to them and they’ll cease beating the living daylights out of you
  2. I’m no FFP expert but my very basic understanding is that in League 1 you can lose a percentage of your turnover but this is waived and you can lose in excess of that as long as the owner under writes it. If they get promoted they will be well and truly screwed having to stick within the strict loss limits in the Championship. So in a way I’m kind of hoping they do come up.
  3. Richard Dryden. He brings back some very bad memories. Remember once in the Atyeo/Dolman corner he managed two or three touches in succession each greeted with massive cheers and a round of “one Richard Dryden” followed by everybody falling about in laughter.
  4. From the Wirral according to the article. Now I wonder where in the country that is ? You got there before me ?
  5. Done! I do think that newer grounds lack some of the atmosphere of older grounds as you don’t often get an apex type roof that allows noise to bounce back down. Another non-architectural factor is the clubs trying to manufacture an atmosphere with singing sections. I’m not against them, just against their manufacture. Historically like minded groups would congregate in an area and that generated more noise. Now you seem to get a dilution if this as some people will be there to genuinely try and create atmosphere, others will try to sample the atmosphere but not have a scooby about what to do, others will be there for the cheap tickets, and finally some of those who would normally try to create an atmosphere won’t be in that area because they either don’t wish to be told where to sing by the club or they just prefer sitting somewhere else.
  6. Happy Christmas everybody. I don’t think I’ve knowingly met a single one of you in person but consider you all friends.
  7. Not so good when you consider the magnetic draw of the England game on a ‘jumbo’ screen in front of a terrace to give you that “just like being in Qatar” experience later on. Would have thought the saggies would be out in their billions for that.
  8. Have you not noticed the fans in Qatar standing on a crumbling terrace under a rusting roof catching hypothermia? ? It’s the real deal I tell ya!
  9. Jeez, money goes to money again. This country was an absolute nest of fraudsters during COVID.
  10. On current form, and truthfully, I think we could lose to anybody on their day. But today I am laughing at a 2nd round result, in which thankfully we were not involved.
  11. …..and never to be beaten if the proportion of total ***** within the away following was measured.
  12. Yep and at least twice have punched horses.
  13. Haven’t driven in years I’m afraid but have used some of the other transport options. I’d recommend the Brislington Park and Ride if coming from that side of town, and catch the AG2 from there. Saves all the hassle of finding parking, very little walking required but can be a bit of a bun fight after unless you are out of the ground a bit sharpish.
  14. Jesus F Christ. I’m sorry to say your username certainly reflects your post.
  15. Only 2 tents open at the Pissporial this afternoon apparently.
  16. Yes Forest Green were County League. Remember them playing at Almondsbury Greenway late 70’s early 80’s I think?
  17. FFS this commentator doesn’t even know who has come off, “oh and we’re under way by the way”
  18. Awful. I know the score of every game in the league but absolutely no idea of what is happening on the pitch at St Andrew’s. Kind of relying on the crowd noise to tell me what’s going on.
  19. My memory was that the Rugby Club chairman had something to do with that lot, and sold them half the ground with a clause saying that if either went through the hoop, the other could pick up the remaining share for a quid. Quelle suprise, shortly after the deal was signed the rugby club went into admin.
