  1. Complete agree, always been a very good 1v1 defender but do also think he is capable of a good cross. Roberts turned Pring inside out a fair few times but Clarke bar the last 10 didn’t have any joy at all
  2. Got a lot of stick recently but thought for the most part kept a really good winger in Clarke quiet. One of his better performances this season
  3. Mehmeti done well first half but like a lot of the team dropped off in the second, right call to sub him off for Weimann
  4. Really concerning with what happened at Wembley, I know us as fans have gone back and forth with him but never nice to see this
  5. Don’t think I’ve ever been so critical of a referee who gave us a penalty. Horrendous for both teams, thought we were both denied stonewall penalties
  6. Gets far too much stick, think a lot of what he did with how he deals with crosses he does most weeks but that save from the O’Nien header was incredible. Also want to point out that I think his kicking has been a lot better in recent weeks
  7. Hence why he said data doesn’t equate to league position or points then
  8. Just because he doesn’t do that for subs doesn’t mean he will to assess our progress. Highly doubt he’s glued to a computer screen during the game to make all his in game management decisions
  9. I’m so glad we have another pointless thread about people trying to catch our new manager out!
  10. Bang on, despite the results not being ideal. Performances for the most part have been good and you can see what he’s trying to implement, some people need to realise you can be angry at the Pearson sacking and give Manning time to prove himself
  11. Where did I say something around Cardiff?
  12. Eh? I’m just saying that’s factual, Pearson has gone through similar runs of forms multiple times and everyone was (rightly imo) behind him coming out the other end
  13. Ipswich game wasn’t that good, other than the Cornick effort which hit the keepers back we didn’t create any big chances. More shots and shots on target tonight than we had in that game. Agree around the rest good performances but that’s very few in a lot of games Pearson still managed this season, do think performances were very weak towards the end of his tenure. Some you can blame on injuries but the most part we were capable of better
  14. Transition between Martin and Manning would’ve been easy as Martin is heavily possession based. Oxford he didn’t win any of his first 6 games before hammering Cheltenham 4-0. Not saying results long term is guaranteed, I’m just saying that I have hope
  15. It’s not how it was sold because our chairman is delusional about our squad. It’s a decent squad, my prediction was top half but also very suited to absorbing possession and one dimensional counter attacks. Look at his record at Oxford early on, I know they were massively underperforming but he didn’t win any for a fair few games then instantly hammered someone. I do think he will get it right but not as fast as some fans and definitely the hierarchy think it will
  16. Not sure I agree on Cornick a lot of times he lost it quite poorly. Mehmeti looked to go at his full back with more purpose and put some dangerous balls in
  17. I just think he’s been put in a position where the hierarchy wants instant results but when he has different principles it’s going to take time. When Lansdown and Tinnion is saying this is a top 6 squad it puts him in a difficult position
  18. Lots of times that has happened, and probably worse
  19. Fact of the matter is with Manning you can’t expect to get instant results, which is what everyone’s comments about it being a top 6 squad even more laughable. I like Manning and I do have full belief that it can come good but if we’re looking at players at their current state, they’re not good enough for where the hierarchy think we should be
  20. Yeah agree, second half he wasn’t that great
  21. I don’t think he should be starting however I also don’t think he’s as bad as people have made out. Assist today and massively involved in our opener last game, can’t comment on today as I didn’t go but thought first half against Norwich was the best I’ve seen him this season
  22. My personal expectation is top half but obviously the board is higher, Huddersfield for me will go down so naturally I wanted all 3 but QPR were always a managerial change away from looking good and pushing up the table again. When you consider that and the fact that Manning had two days of work with the players I’d say that’s a decent point
  23. Said this before but for me, under Ainsworth they were playing a style that didn’t suit the players they had. The squad was capable of much more and had players who are better in possession but are not physical at all. Players like Chair and Willock suit the style their playing right now perfectly
  24. Yeah I’d agree with 7th to 12th, I’m just looking at that top 6 Leicester, Leeds and Southampton look guarenteed, Ipswich I think will drop off but not quite out of the top 6, Sunderland will make it (even without Mowbray) and I think for the last spot West Brom, Middlesbrough and Hull just look a bit stronger than us at the moment
  25. For Lansdown’s ambition its underwhelming yes but I just think this year is stronger than before. With a couple of additions I think playoffs can be possible but I think we’ll come up short, I’d feel more confident if the quality is similar to last years Championship
