Can’t remember being less enthusiastic preceding a Cardiff derby fixture, remember the great afternoons at Ninnian with Sam Hammam in the away end with his minders trying to wind up the City supporters, bottles of piss being thrown over the police and stewards heads into the away end, Murray doing the Ayatollah to the Cardiff mob when he scored , seems such a long time ago now and maybe some things have changed for the better but my god how I miss those exciting afternoons!

89/90 season when we won 3 0 over there

now that was some day ……..

    Mine was £25.
As for why people go…in many cases it’ll be for loyalty points towards the next Euros or World Cup (the more games you go to, the higher the likelihood of being guaranteed for tournaments, or for the more appealing away qualifiers).
In other cases it’ll be to keep a run going.
Or to catch up with friends from around the country who support other clubs, have a beer or two pre and post game, and discuss plans for Skopje next month and for Germany next summer (assuming we don’t mess up qualification, that is).

Sorry just seen your post regarding caps

totally true about catching up with mates , I’ll travel to Skopje with a lad I meet 34 years ago and still travel with

and think of the people BEANIE made lifelong friendships with in his many many years of travelling with the national team

unfortunately the football is normally the worst bit of the travelling just like city sometimes

Feel sorry for anyone who paid to watch this shit

Unfortunately it’s all about getting CAPS

members of the travel club get 2 Caps for every home or away game they attend

with Germany just around the corner the more caps you accumulate the better chance of getting tickets for next year become

    didn't expect that,

was tempted to go if tickets had still been on sale

If any one with a ticket, and is struggling to attend AND just wants to get their "CAP/S" score

let I know,I'll pay for my own costs to London

Sorry John just had a quick look and it seems quite a few people are looking for tickets now I’ll keep you posted

You hadn't been to the Vetch then.?

I vile place, with full on anti-English hatred running through their veins.

Quite an intimidating place to visit, quite like Ninian Park, both in their own run down, shitehole kind of a way.

Both now far friendlier in their shiny modern stadiums - to the point it always amazes me how friendly they both are to visit.

The vetch midweek 89/90 was a good night but not so friendly after the final whistle

I wish the tills were down.  A pasty so bad I think it was leftover from the days of Lidneys catering, two hot drinks a coke and some crisps came to £15.

Without picking a fight there are plenty of places on the way to the ground where you can stock up on food .but not everyone has the chance Togo shopping before the game

Horrid club who’s fans we tend to clash with quite often ( bit of history with them down the years )

If memory serves me when we played them at home about 2000 is is was still kicking off with them in the park about a hour after the game ,also the cup game about then was again quite lively.

  8. Spoiler

Worked in Bristol when Liverpool won the league

2 scaffolders went on about them winning the league , honestly the way they rattled on you would have thought they grew up there

got into a heated debate with them and asked to name the 4 stands at anfield to which they replied the Kop , well my granny could tell me that … ok name the other 3.

surprise surprise they never knew the other 3 and neither had stepped foot in there …..

give me a rovers fan who goes over any plastic

One of my most ‘sick in mouth’ moments in life is when someone says  to me, “yeah but what Premier League team do you support?”!

    ??

That really fxxks me off when they say that then look up and say the team they so called support have never seen in there life’s

Watched Leicester on the box last night , would take a point now

think every player on there bench last night would walk into our team , no slur on us just a point how strong a squad ( not just team they have )  this will be a proper test .

There the Man City of the championship when you look at the whole squad and like you said take a point
