Typical click bait, nothing we didn't know. I was hoping there was going to be an editorial about the on going farce, but in true BP style, don't upset the apple cart, bugger investigative journalism, just take the easy life !

That's after you have fought your way throug the ads!

I for one think it's damn decent of the Rovers, at a time of no football and not much of anything going on, to slide their soap opera into top gear and provide us with humorous distractions through these quiet days.

Not least of which being Ken Masters' haircut.

He looks like Bobby & Jack Charlton combined! I wonder how long the likeable Mr Starnes will last?

You beat me to it @Shaun Taylor

Thought a bit better of Liverpool tbh, thought they might not do this.

Bit of a Tottenham type move though not quite as stark...

Got it up in front of me.

Last two seasons, going from 2017/18 and 2018/19 in that order:

POST Tax Profit- £106,006,000 and £33,392,000 respectively.

    Tottenham's is similar but worse.

Or if we want to go to the Liverpool Holding/Parent Company route, the profit falls- but not by much!

POST Tax Profit- £100,721,000 and £29,059,000 respectively.

Yet, they're furloughing non playing staff.

Us tax payers will end up paying for the super rich clubs when the younger could easily cover their own cost!

Deferring mortgage payments is a measure to avoid people being in financial strife, isn’t it..?

Food banks are busier because people are having more trouble accessing food, not affording it.

Not what I'm hearing people are struggling with money as their self employed and aren't working or have been laid off and can't afford to pay their bills or don't have enough left to feed their kids etc irrelevant whether certain food items are in short supply

    These things just aren't comparable.

Apparently Daniel Craig is being paid 25 million for the latest Bond film.

And the film might be shit. And all you get is twenty minutes more 'entertainment' than a football match.

That's very true but he would argue he's know all around the world and that the film will generate milllions & millions

Why should they feel guilty for having committed their lives to excelling in a well paid career..?

    Are thousands REALLY struggling financially..?!

Yes, some will be - but that’s always the case.
Most, I’d suggest, have been taken care of by the governments unprecedented support packages, or are still working on full pay (that’s not being pro Tory! I’m not pro either party, but I think they’ve done well in relating most peoples financial worries)

I don’t get this backlash on footballers getting their wages. Why shouldn’t they..?!

Just my opinion of course but I don't think championship players should be payed that much money and yes I believe there are many thousands of uk residents struggling financially as building society's have been inundated with request to defer their mortgage payments and food banks have never been so busy

I think the government have been in a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation with this,

Had they introduced a lockdown earlier then I assure many of their critics would have bemoaned that it was a draconian overreaction and smacked of some sort of dictatorial  "police state". At the same time I also suspect that when making their "advisory" statement the government credited the population with a degree of common sense that it is now quite obvious that many do not possess.

The last few weeks have shown too many as being self obsessed, selfish and lacking any degree of social awareness and empathy. When we come out the other end of this, i think/hope there will be a big readjustment in the way people generally look at what their priorities are in life. I'm certainly no socialist, but the current situation does make you look at what is really important, and it ain't toilet rolls!

I'm intrigued that after only a few week of massively reduced travel by populations generally and  almost no air travel,  the canals in Venice are running clear for the first time in decades, and the heat map of Europe is showing a noticeable improvement. Mid you, given the amount of toilet rolls purchased in the last few weeks, and the amount of excrement this would seem to indicate is anticipated, that heat map could reverse any time soon!

Perhaps what is happening is a wake up call to all of us, to change things before it might be too late. Ive a felling that once the current situation is over the world will look a lot different , in many ways, than it was previously.

Crazy we're still letting them in

Can we just cancel 2020 now. I’ve had enough.

    Here is mine so far...

January 3rd - brother diagnosed out of blue of having 3 aggressive brain cancers and has ‘short months’ to live

January 10th - paralysed down his right side he is discharged from hospital to die, where he lives with his girlfriend and our 90 year old mother

January 20th - take over my mothers pension and bank account as brother is paralysed to find out they have extracted and spent over £50000 of her savings. I have no idea what is was spent on and they are not saying

January 22nd - I predict to my partner that now the raping of my mothers finance has stopped, so will her care so and mother will be dead in 6 months. Try to get her extra care, social services not interested

Feb 25th Get a call from brothers sister that mother had taken a fall and had been rushed into hospital

Feb 27th mother dies with fractured skull from the fall. Coroner refuses to release body for funeral as the body needs to go to autopsy due to ‘unusual  injuries’

March 9th  autopsy completed, cause of death obvious, how it happened open to interpretation. No further action taken

March 13th. Finally received death certificate and funeral booked for March 24th

March 19th funeral postponed due to corona virus

    anyone able to ‘beat this’?

I feel your pain as thats a lot for any family to contend with in a short space of time and hope things get better for you all now onwards

Exactly. Im 35, not in any danger age and don't have any underlying health concerns. If I do develop a cough/fever, the last thing I would want to do if hop on over to my local hospital or gp to get tested. To potentially infect others? Erm no, I will self isolate.

Anyway this country is looking ****** as it stands. And not because of anything Boris has or has not done imo. Its the idiots that are so brain dead they do not understand the gravity of the situation. Its so sad to think that this country will have to impose literal martial law because there are idiots out there that don't give a damn or are to stupid to understand that this isn't some stupid little virus.

Good points you make and I'll also add that bored kids are starting to congregate in groups on cycles or playing in the small play grounds who have no idea of the situation and it's upto their parents to educate them if not keep them inside

I have no faith in humanity doing the right thing. There are sufficient selfish w@nkers and ***ts in the world that it will eventually turn to shite again.

I work for a large American company that makes electronics for the motor industry which is non essential but still the corporate bosses won't send us home when there's money to be made when all around us BMW & Honda have been shut down. But it's all ok they've taken chairs out the canteen so only six at a time can go in and put signs up everywhere telling us how to wash our hands!
