In response to the OP yes ofcourse we have. To be pedantic every day that passes heralds a new period of history for Bristol City, so a change in manager/head coach and different backroom staff running the team must do. Whether or not the change will bring an upgrade in our fortune remains to be seen. The last few games though give room for some optimism.

I feel for your loss and for all his family and friends. Far too soon to go. May he rest in peace and may all too find their peace in time.

Back to back home wins. Is this another false dawn or the start of something. In the last 2 years, first under Pearson and now under Manning, we've seen City make progress in recruitment, in how we integrate young (and not so young) players into the team, in mentality and culture, and in developing a recognisable identity and style of play. We know however, that if we're to sustain that progress and turn it into points and league position, to hopefully propel us to the play offs and beyond, we must do something about a home record that only the generous could describe as bang average. Far from being a fortress Ashton Gate is more like a holiday camp with Welcome, have a good day, written in large letters. I can only hope that the times they are a changin' and we will see many more home wins this season.

Manning arrives and we start getting penalties! Just have to wait now for the EFL investigation into why Bristol City are being awarded penalties when the laws clearly state we shouldn't receive any. Seriously LM is doing well right now, deserves credit and long may it continue.

When left to their own devices and without external interference such as VAR I would of thought the percentage of correct decisions made by referees is above 90%. I certainly believe that to be true of linesmen too who are capable of determining offsides without the need to draw gridlines. it will never be 100% as some decisions will be subjective or contentious and these can skew the perception of performance. It would be interesting to know the actual level of VAR performance whose accuracy seems barely above 50%.

These are the things that restore my faith in humanity and remind me that there are more people in the world that care than those that don't. I'm always in awe of those who give so freely of their time and make a real contribution to children's lives. Quite typically Scotty was throwing himself into the cause again.

I used to love QoS but like many turned away after suffering a couple of shows following the departures of Sue Barker, Matt Dawson and Phil Tuffnel. Partly it was the change of format with some of my more favoured rounds lost but mainly it was the personnel. It's not that I'm adverse to change but if you are replacing the presenter or captains they must for me either have strength of personality or respect through sporting achievement. As an example I didn't warm to Bill Beaumont who had all the wit and repartee of Nigel Mansell but as a British Lion and captain of an England grand slam winning side he had my respect. Replacing Sue Barker with the (comedian?) Paddy McGuiness was a hugh mistake. McGuiness is only known through hanging onto Peter Kay's coat tails on Phoenix Nights whereas Sue Barker is a tennis grand slam winner and no small wit. Anyone who can make sportsmen fall off their chairs when remarking at the BBC SPOTY awards that (Gavin) Henson was late because he was still in church (he was dating Charlotte) gets my vote. Sam Qwek and Ugo Monye were reasonable sports stars but neither had the achievements or personalities of Dawson and Tuffnel. For what it had become the axe was inevitable.

Two things wrong with this. 1. I've never understood why teams in the lower divisions of the EFL are any less deserving of a decent referee from those higher up the pyramid. 2. The referees of the PL and those who regularly referee the Championship are not better and are of the same shocking standard as their lower league colleagues. Whire refereeing gets harder year on year we unfortunately have the lowest standard of officials for over 50 years. Despite the introduction of high resolution imaging they continually make mistakes.

Max did well today and deserves the plaudits that come his way. We know he is inclined to the odd midstaje and his distribution could be better but that is why he's playing in the Championship and not the PL. City don't get overrun every week and he rarely has a disaster of a game. He may not be the best but he is of Championship standard. I think some have a vastly inflated opinion of what the performance level of a Championship goalkeeper is.

I think you're right and would be surprised if he's not a false 9. He's a real workhorse and pest with real ability to feed the likes of Clarke and Roberts. and perhaps Jobe Bellingham later. Another one of those players who are top Championship performers but not quite good enough for the PL.

I am sure it hasn't taken you this long to reach that conclusion. Ofcourse it had nothing to do with performances, but an unwillingness to massage the Lansdown ego and their realisation that he was infinitely more popular than them. Although I was a, supporter of LJ up to the last month or so of his tenure, the Lansdown willingness to accept his losing streaks without giving him the sack, including losing 8 in a row, told you all you needed to know about the type of manager they preferred.

Huge frustration again as we lose yet another game due to a moments slackness. Southampton, Norwich, Huddersfield, Blackburn, we shouldn't have won any of them (which we didn't) but neither should we have lost any of them. We need Wells back to give the forward line focus.

Typical. While we haven't posed a great threat we seemed to be controlling things nicely with a measured performance, then one decent ball and it's in the back of our net.

I don't know the answers but they'll be loving this in Merthyr.

Emery has made the difference at Villa. 14 unbeaten at home. Absolutely class manager who's a winner. They may not win the PL but they'll be in Europe with a chance of winning the competition they're in.

Whether I renew will be down to my health. I'm fully behind the team but this season I've only managed one away game (Cardiff) when I'd normally have only missed one by now, and a number of recent home games as I've struggled with my breathing. If I get my health sorted I'll renew but not otherwise. If I'm honest while I've missed the day with my mates, after over 60 years of watching City I haven't really missed the football.

When Burns first came into the City side he was quick enough to catch pigeons but lacked composure. Now I don't think he's so quick but he has a better all round game, certainly one that fits the system that Ipswich play. Szmodics clearly didn't show enough in training to get in the City team and didn't pull up any trees when he moved to Peterborough but he's found a niche at Blackburn. I have no problem with our moving them on. Their performances now have no bearing on whether they'd be performing well in a City shirt. They're just a couple of examples of the minimal number of players who have thrived after leaving City rather than the majority who have sunk without trace.

Despite a disjointed second half performance we should of got something out of that game. For all of Southampton's possession they didn't create much and it took a near worldy to beat us. We paid the price for not taking our chances first half with TC the chief culprit and both Cornick and Mehmeti wasted good opportunities late in the game. Frustrating night again.

The problem we've got now is that we have to be more precise with our passing up front. Having removed the pace of Bell and Conway and for that matter Sykes we can't just put the ball into an area to run onto but will need to pass to feet.

Refereeing is tough and respect for the job is due but that respect has to be earned not commanded. I want to see more commitment to referee training as right now it seems inadequate. In over 60 years of watching professional football I genuinely believe the current crop officiating the Prem and EFL to be the worst I've seen, rubber stamped when I consider Keith Stroud to be one of the best. VAR has made refereeing harder not easier and no amount of technology or gimmicky changes such as the use if sin bins will improve standards or respect.
