  1. The interview was fine but then again I'm not sure what more could be said than he did. To our credit we came through a game against a team that was in better form than us. The stats will say Boro had more possession, more corners and more overall shots, but we were more clinical with more shots on target hence more goals. Job done we move on to the next game.
  2. The clubs can try but they won't get anywhere. Everton are responsible for the breach of FFP but they're not responsible for the inadequate system that failed to deduct points and relegate them in the years past.
  3. I know I haven't seen City play Coventry at St Andrews but went to Highfield Rd twice including the 2-2 that kept us in Div 1, the ridiculous defeat at Northampton, the League Cup victory at Burton, and the Ricoh numerous times, so 4 out of the 5.
  4. You're right in terms of current grounds and I've counted wrong and should read 79, not just West Ham's London Stadium which should belong to Leyton Orient but the Emirates and Old Trafford which I kept missing. Of course I have been to the Boleyn Ground, Highbury, Griffin Park and the Manor among the grounds that are no more.
  5. Of the current 92 I've seen City at 82. I include the Tottenham Hotspur stadium because although it's been renamed, rebuilt and enlarged it's still at the White Hart Lane site. Spurs have not moved, not even across the road like Leicester City. I've yet to add up the ex league grounds, overseas grounds on tour and non league grounds for clubs now further down the pyramid, in fa cups and community matches but it's probably going to top out between 120-130.
  6. Sounds like a game at Rotherham a few seasons back which was so bad I called for both teams to be docked 3 points.
  7. From the comments on here I'm glad I decided to stay at home today (I hate going to Loftus Road). Even with our patchy form though we surely have to see it as 2 points dropped.
  8. By the manager/head coach providing clarity of game plan to the players and their executing it.
  9. I'd agree it ain't fifa, you have to deal with real people with real egos, and issues, but neither is it chess or rocket science. I know some clever dicks like to think it's the ultimate strategy game but it isn't. Off the pitch it's about maintaining fitness levels and man management. On the pitch it's primarily about running, focus and some skill. The end goal remains the same as always, score more than them.
  10. Not moaning as such just asking questions as to whether he's needed.
  11. I'm not so sure I was making an argument more than asking a question. I'm happy that we analyse our own performance and style but too much emphasis can be given to the opponents. I don't want us using so many metrics that we constantly set up to stop them, that was LJs failed method, we need to have clarity in our own play which is not rigid and fluid enough to react to in game situations. As for the game having moved on we hear this all the time, but really it's just quicker. At the end of the day the only way you win football matches is by scoring more goals than the opposition.
  12. Welcome, but do I really need to know that we've signed an analyst and what his name is. Will he help us win football matches? When I think of some of the most successful managers in british footballing history, such as Stein, Shankley, Busby, Ferguson or Wenger, I have to admit to not knowing who their analysts were or if indeed they had one. I have to applaud modern football for it's job creation programme.
  13. You couldn't have the Mem. It's OK to include cheaper properties but shanty towns or tented villages are a no no.
  14. What are the counters? A combine harvester or a cider mug should be included.
  15. Liam Manning deserves to be given a proper chance, and he'll get that from me, but I remain concerned not just about the player team building but the coaching and fitness team. We haven't just lost Nigel but an impressive coaching set up and a class fitness coach. Often the best signings a manager makes are his backroom staff and if we're to progress as a club the backroom staff needs to gel as quickly as the players. Let us hope so.
  16. Another top man leaves. All the best Curtis.
  17. Hardly a revelation. Unless your a name who starts his managerial career at championship or premier league level all other managers won't have managed above L1 at some point.
  18. Only after they sold off their star players such as Scott Twine.
  19. If its him then he's clearly not an upgrade on Nige but I'm sure he will bow and kow-tow at the appropriate times. That said, if he's what we have then I will get behind him to support the team. Who knows perhaps he will be an inspired appointment, he's got the youth to improve.
  20. I know nothing of Bo Svensson but both Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp's cut their teeth in management at Mainz 05.
  21. Personalised number plates are so passé
  22. Clearly any approach for Manning comes with a compensation payment to Oxford. I don't know what his contract situation is so do we have any idea of cost? Interesting on what we are prepared to spend money on.
  23. Jimmy Lumsden, the man who wearing a silver tracksuit at Newcastle inspired the Gallowgate to chant 'there's only one Jimmy Savile'
  24. I don't mind who investigates as long as Josephine Jobert plays Lauren Smith who is asked to assist in the investigation.
  25. Because more often than not Matty James took them.
