RIP Rich.

I was there! Derby all over us before Sutton got sent off. What a turnaround. Got hit on the back of the leg after the game by some flying debris from the skip!

Being played at Burton!

Sounds like you had a good night in Hull! Good to see the away fans diary return.
-
Some good discussions on placement of away fans on the recent FBC podcasts. Both guests (Gareth Chilcott and Richard Latham) were in favour of reducing their allocation in the Atyeo.
Unfortunately, we may have missed the boat in making any changes following the redevelopment. Hull fans were right next to us yesterday and made good noise at times.

From what I've seen of Pring, I think he has looked like a more complete left back/wing back than DaSilva and his erxtra height and bulk is a big advantage.
I’m a fan of Pring and hope he gets back to full fitness quickly to challenge JD. He is definitely better going forward then Jay.

Agree with a number of comments on the thread. Thought we were weak attacking down our left. JD has to improve his crossing if we are going to play with wing backs. Pring is always a good option to bring on later in the game but obviously not available yesterday.

Can’t wait! Always love the first game of the season. Let’s bring home the 3 points!

RIP Stoney. Sad day for the club.

My 4 year old’s kit arrived this morning. He didn’t like the home kit as it “looks like a singlet”. He instead opted for the purple training top with the purple goalkeeper shorts and socks. I’ve got to say it looks great and the details are very nice.
I also bought myself an Ashton Gate co-ordinates t-shirt and the print quality is terrible. The ink is thin, the lettering is slightly deformed and the small badge is smudged as well. It looks like a market knock-off. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m asking as I want to send it back to my brother to exchange it but if they’re all bad, I’ll just send it back for a refund. That said, the postage here and back again is more than the cost of the shirt.
I was in the shop the other day and decided against buying one of the t-shirts due to the poor quality.

Play off changes. In the Championship:
Match 1: 5th (home) v 6th
Match 2: 4th (home) v winner of match 1
Final: 3rd (home) v winner of match 2

KDB is on another level.
Great player. Trying to think of another player who could score with both feet like KDB does.

Well worked free kick but why did Forest not mark Moore!

It should go to NTTDS - John attends every City match home and away and has done so for many years. He’s the most dedicated and loyal City that I’ve ever met.
He deserves such an award Imo.
I agree! Had the pleasure of meeting NTTDS on the way back from Bournemouth the other week.

I mean it’s a bit poor isn’t it. They know a fair few people would use their reward balances at the ground on Saturday, so they end it the day before. It’s literally deliberately done to make it inconvenient for people to spend their reward balances
After the support we have given them home and away this season you would have thought the club could extend to Saturday!

Any pub recommendations?

A team that was more than the sum of it's parts.
Players where signed to fit the system,
Dynamic and detailed coaching.
There was an actual game plan and style of play.
Motivated players enjoying their jobs.
Entertaining/attacking football.
The stuff that dreams are made of.
Great at set pieces!

I disagree
Our momentum into the Championship , with that trim and talented squad , was the hottest it’s ever been
Burt and SCs recruitment was fantastic , even the loanees and the plan to bring in some quality to add to that squad was IMO absolutely the right one
McGuire and Gray were not unrealistic at that point in their careers , and it was IMO the right plan to maintain the momentum
SL has made two massive mistakes , amongst many , during his ownership , in not backing managers at the right time
#1 Not backing GJ post Plymouth ( I would have backed GJ and told the players if they wanted out , they could do go )
#2 Not recognising the job SC had done , and his and KBs record on recruitment , right before his eyes , and the momentum and golden opportunity we had
It was a time , particularly for a ‘intelligent businessman’ , to put aside any personality differences and back , and ride , on the back of what SC was doing - It was time for Bristol City to show some ambition and push the boat out
We actually have dabble with ‘pushing the boat out’ at times , but regularly the wrong times
When there was a shining bright ‘right time’ we didn’t and ****** up.
Ive said on many occasions , the **** up and breakdown of relations with SC , and the subsequent appointment of LJ as a Personal Project , (And the gradual stall and subsequent decline to our current state) rather than a astute footballing one , was
The missed opportunity of an era
For SL , The Club , and for all of us fansTotally agree.

It always makes me smile when the commentator states the obligatory “no one wants to see this”. I do. Very entertaining.
Carried on down the tunnel. Police got involved in the end!

Outside the ground, it might be Derby or Swansea, or someone playing in white with black shorts.
Yep, what happened to the Bristol City Football Club logos etc.

I’ve never seen another stadium with so much lighting in the stands. The circular lights above each of the exits in the Lansdown are just eye watering - yet nothing has ever been done to sort them out. Meh we’re Bristol City & we’re happy to tread water. Strange club.
We make it so easy for the opposition at home. Been discussed so many times before. Away fans having the whole of the Atyeo doesn’t help mentioned by both Cotterill and Johnson when in charge. The fans who like to create an atmosphere shoved in the corner of the South Stand. The East End was always about creating a noise and getting behind the team.

But likewise Man Utd/Liverpool have more support in Bristol and Somerset than us
Good point. If you count armchair fans definitely. Biggest underachievers in football are definitely Bristol City Football Club!

Conway and Scott our best performers tonight.
Real shame about Joe Williams but haven’t seen anything this season to suggest that he’s the box to box midfielder we signed. I believe he has another year on his contract after this season.
