I think most were surprised not to see Conway & Sykes in the starting 11.

Especially with AS out injured, surely you want your strongest players filling in elsewhere.

I thought he ran willingly & did OK generally - as he usually does (I'm not a hater of his atall) but there is no way that starting Cornick over Sykes is picking your strongest possible 11 - imho.

The rest of the team was pretty straightforward selection, granted - but baffling by way of leaving 2 or 3 of your most attacking threats on the bench, against an average team, coming into the season off the back of a crap pre-season, at home, in front of a sell out crowd - it felt like an opportunity missed and so it proved to be.

Agree 100% as did others in the group I was with .

Pride? Geez. At least they found a remaining stand for him to pose in front of.

Out of shot is a view of back gardens, mud, pi$$ed off neighbours and abandoned ground works.

They might as well plant some veg in the mud for what is left of the summer. A nice herb garden maybe? These things take thyme..... boom boom tiss.

With their track record they’d even struggle to DILLiver a herb garden without a cock up.

You clearly forgot to click on the jumble sale section.

Plenty of tat here if you’ve got money to burn.

Seriously though, hopefully everyone keeps their hands in their pockets, it’s the only way the club will take any notice.

Blimey, some (most) of that stuff is absolutely shocking!

Just tried adding Season Ticket to a second phone and it advised that it was limited to 1 device, thus would need deleting from the current wallet to transfer.

I think it's going to be a case of doing ad-hoc 'Forward ticket' if you can't attend.

I was hoping I’d be able to add them to my daughters phone as well as mine so we had a ‘back up’ just in case.

Can I forward a Digital Season Ticket?

If a Season Ticket holder cannot attend a match they are able to forward individual matches from their Season Ticket to a friend or family member.

If you are a Season Ticket holder and are unable to attend a match then you will be able to forward your ticket to a friend or family member providing:

    • They have created a Bristol Sport Club Account. Instructions on how to do so can be found here
    • They have linked their Bristol Sport Club Account to a ticketing account (and have a Supporter ID Number)
    • They are linked to your friends/family group within your ticketing account.

Full details on how to do this will follow in the coming weeks ahead of our opening fixture vs Preston North End (Sat, Aug 5th).

Which seemed to be the biggest ask...

Hopefully there will be an option for the person who’s receiving the ticket on their account to pay the extra if it’s a different age group. Would make sense anyway

Agreed. Like you said the most obvious choice surely would have been for the Bears to stick with Umbro and us to go with them aswell. Guaranteed quality  from a brand you know what you are going to get from..

Will be interesting to see the sales figures for replica kit and training wear in 3 or 4 months time. Apart from the diehards that will buy it irrespective of if it is complete tat or not, I genuinely think sales will be massively hit with many floating fans not bothering to purchase any of it.

As you say , can’t see loads of people buying this stuff. Even my 11 year old daughter isn’t in a rush to get her free shirt yet, she’s unimpressed with the home and 3rd shirts and hoping the away one will be better.Going on the training gear I’d be surprised if it is though!

I know it isn’t the point of this thread but Tillson was an excellent player & as this shows transparently a decent sort.

It isn’t his problem either that all these years later they still haven’t paid a bigger fee for anyone but they certainly got value for money from him.

His son is a pro, was at Exeter before & now with Ross County in the SPL.

I asked him if he’d be going back into football in some capacity but he said he was really enjoying the gardening work at that time so wasn’t sure. Did he have something to do with Southamptons academy in our area at some point ? If I remember correctly he sometimes had a Southampton training top on.

Lives in Bath, see him around quite a bit, does gardening now I believe. I've seen him at Twerton watching Bath City.

Was working on a house in lacock a few years ago and he came to mow the lawns every Thursday. I didn’t know who he was first of all until someone told him I was a City fan and he came over for a chat. One of the nicest blokes I’ve ever met ,always asked if me and my daughter enjoyed the latest city game and what we thought of it. He often had football training tops on and once threatened to wear a gas shirt but I did warn him there might be an accident with a tin of paint!

Good. I thank you for your interest.

If you want footballing stats from footballing pundits it’s probably best that you don’t. Open these posts.

Life’s too short to fret or sweat over stats and analysis. Only thing that matters is final positions on the last game of the season.

No ifs, no buts, no coconuts. And definitely no cigar if you finish outside of the top 3.

Anyway. Hope that sheep is safe. ??

Maybe he told the sheep he’ll take it out to dinner when he’s finished ? It looks like it’s got a smile on its face anyway!

They seem to think our new scarves are something to take the piss out of tonight.

What has Wally ever given them ?

A sheet of Andrex each to use in their portaloos ?

They do get given something free for supporting that shower of shite - bitterness and embarrassment for starters

Took my 10 year old daughter to watch her brother play on sunday,,, she had a red and white knitted hat on with a city badge that her nan knitted for her… as we were leaving i heard a comment from a local 18 year old meat head virgin, who kindly informed her she had shit on her head…. I kinda heard the comment but assumed he was talking to his mate as i was off to one side putting some rubbish in the bin… daughter told me later that he said it to her….it was rather a shame i missed that at the time,,, i dont really like inbred idiots using that language to a 10 year old girl, much less my 10 year old girl. Charming lot.

Had something similar walking back through the waterfront with my daughter after a game once. She was about 8 or 9 at the time and wearing a city shirt and some drunken asshead shouted something out. Rather than be angry I felt more pity to be honest that a grown man felt threatened by a young girl in a different teams top and felt the need to shout out. What a sad individual.

  12. I don’t know how to put a link on here ( maybe someone else can do it?) but there’s some great footage of the turn and nutmeg on the ‘red zone’ YouTube vid from yesterday’s game that the club have put up.
