  1. The only City shirt I possess is the one with the tramlines but black hirerite logo, was that before or after the white hirerite logo shirt?
my 11 year old daughter wears it as a night dress occasionally but maybe I ought to wear it now, amazingly it still fits!   My girl is a bit miffed her two shirts of this season are already out of date but I guess they didn’t have much choice but to change them.

  2. My girl was a mascot for the Watford game, was a brilliant day, we all really enjoyed it.
You all get to see the changing room etc , go pitch side via the tunnel. Mascots go off to meet the players whilst the rest of your party go up to the Heineken lounge for food and the kids join you when they are done. ( If they want autographs then take a pen and something to sign , we bought a city calendar for that)Then mascots go down for a pitch side warm up which is good for taking their mind off of being nervous !
After going out with the players they bring them up to where you’ll be sitting in front of the Heineken lounge. I’d say it’s worth every penny,it’s something they’ll always remember.

Ah if only the Rotunda was still there!

I’ve got bad memories of that place after watching that city v rovers game that was on the last Friday before Xmas years ago. Seemed like a good idea until my mate got whacked over the head with a pool cue!

Millhouse in Emerson’s green will have it on- food is cheap and cheerful but plenty of screens across the pub to watch the game.

That’s a good suggestion, cheers matey

  4. Funnily enough I’m looking for something similar, Everton supporting father in law over from France next week and wants to watch Merseyside derby Monday night in a pub with food and we’ll have my daughter (11) with us. We are in Kingswood so anywhere a short drive from there would be good, any suggestions would be great. ( sorry to jump in on your thread AIS !)

I have always been a great believer in lucky underpants - imagine the "force being with us" is we all wore them!  A perfect invisible advantage!

Some of us go “commando “ ,what are we supposed to do?!

Yours is less about buying a ticket, more about confirming you’ve got yours.

The boss has just sorted it, told you he was a good bloke! ( and he’s paying for them!)Thanks for your help anyway ?

  7. Anyone know the answer to this conundrum.

My boss bought myself and my daughter season tickets through the company account back in September for my 30 years service ,( he’s a very good boss!) but the tickets are in our names with different supporter IDs to the ones I’d already bought memberships on. Our tickets still show up on the company account but when he clicks on the link to buy it just goes to a blank page. He’s sent an email but I’m guessing it will probably have to be sorted over the phone on Wednesday unless anyone has any other ideas?

yes anyone remember the flared tracksuit

Oh yes, there’s a picture of me in a photo album round my parents house wearing an Umbro city tracksuit in the late 70s I’m guessing. Flarey nice !

I googled “pictures of balls in” and didn’t think it was appropriate to post the images on OTIB.

A mate of mine was helping to run the 3rd team at the club I played for, they needed a new bag for the match and training balls. He instantly regretted doing a Google search for a ‘massive ball bag’!

Snap. It's due to the amount of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) produced by diesel cars which irritates the lungs of people with breathing problems, such as asthma. It's not really a problem driving them in rural areas, like on motorways, as there is space for the harmful particles to dissipate. But in urban settings, the particles are trapped between buildings on either side of the road and thus get breathed in by pedestrians walking alongside the road. That is why yours and my cars are discouraged from entering the clean air zone, via the charge.

You’d think there was something that could be retro fitted to some of the older diesels to make them run cleaner ? Maybe there is but I guess they just want diesels off the road.

That dirge of a song about a murdered prostitute?

"Hearing 9-10,000 Gasheads singing on match days. (Even Adam doesn't look old enough to have ever heard that).

    The players bath.

But most of all, WTAF is this?

I went to Portishead's ground on Saturday and they would be embarrassed if they had something like that on the side of the pitch.

All looks championship ready to me ?

We are building up to a City game, it will definitely happen. :)

The only issue with getting her playing is time and expense. She already has a swimming club and an after school club (which includes a bit of football), and has said she wants to try gymnastics. I think her father in particular likes the idea of channelling her interests away from football and towards the warmer indoor sports.

I will keep encouraging her though, it's a shame the vixens don't have a home game until mid January, I would like to have got in while she was excited about yesterday.

I had to endure the pain of watching hour upon hour of street dance competitions , sometimes as far away as the midlands! Thankfully she’s given it up to concentrate on football!  As you say time and expense is a problem.
Hope it all works out and she becomes a life long City fan .

She did enjoy it, although I don't know about the football side. She lasted until about 20 minutes into the second half, which was better than I expected to be honest. Portishead tried hard to play football, but Odd Down had a more physical presence and I see that they won with a 96th minute goal. It was a nice friendly set up, and there were a couple of slightly older girls there who were encouraging her to go and play, so we will see. They serve truly the worst hot chocolate I have ever tasted though. :)

Glad she enjoyed it?. At that age it’s more about being out and about than the actual football so she did well lasting that long watching the game. To be honest I thought girls football would be a big commitment but it’s not too bad,it’s pretty relaxed . Definitely good for them to be involved in a team game outside of school and build another circle of friends.  You should take her to a City game so she can endure a lifetime of frustration like the rest of us!

My 5 year old grand daughter has apparently started talking about football, her mum (my daughter) used to be a season ticket holder before she met her husband who has no interest in football. We are going to start her off slowly with a trip to Portishead Town this Saturday followed by a Vixens game if she likes it.

That’s a good age to start taking them to games. My girl was 5 when I took her to her first city game, she was hooked straight away , loves the whole day out , bus ride into town, walk round the harbour side and then the pub ( ok she moans a bit about about the 2hrs in the pub!).  5 is probably a good age to start her playing as well if she’s interested, my girl started at 10 last year and moans that I should have got her into it earlier!    Hope she enjoyed it today .
