Points dropped from a winning position and a key injury. We’re back baby!
Hard not to be frustrated by that, we wasted enough good moments to beat them two or three times. And I really don’t like the look of the James injury, clearly held his hammy.
Injured:
Kalas
Atkinson
Naismith
James
Williams
Benarous
Scott

Scott (injured), Haikin (gone), Sykes (suspension), Idehen (dropped?) are replaced by James (injury return), Conway (ditto), Wiles-Richards and Leeson in the MD18. Nice to get some players back, Scott is a blow of course. Let hope it puts off the bidders…

Same here. I was there during the amazing seasons they had at the beginning of the 2000's..it was mental! Looking forward to going back down there next season
I was there more recently - don’t recall them doing much of note during my 4 years! But as you say it’ll be great to get back to the City. I was excited to go back to my old drinking spots - before remembering I’m not a 20 year old student anymore and would look very out of place

I went Scott for both - it's not an easy one this year. Lots of players could have taken it but for an injury or a drop in form. For POTY I considered Vyner, Pring, Atkinson, James, Naismith and Wells but couldn't quite see past Alex. And if he takes POTY, he has to be YPOTY by defualt imo, but Conway and Bell both entered my thinking.
Champagne Moment was just a personal highlight, Sam Bell against WBA. His second goal in particular was so well taken, it reminded me of some of Salah's goals at Liverpool.

One for those who obsess over trophies/honours (what it’s all about at the end of the day!), if they win League 1 they will be the club to have done so most in English history (taking League 1 to be the third tier - in any of its previous guises). It’d be their fifth title, taking them ahead of a handful of teams on 4, ourselves included.

I’m in the minority but I’d renew. Risky for sure but if he’s settled and we can agree to reduced terms - he’s a top 6 Championship centre-half. A sprinkle of luck (ha) and we keep him fit - he’ll be massive for us in a promotion hunt.

I went to uni in Plymouth so it’d be great for me personally, I know the city well. That’d be a very fun away day. Hope they do it.

For some reason I thought the keep your seat deadline was approaching so I just quicky renewed. The deadline is in May.

After Oldham , Stoke has to be the coldest ground I’ve ever been to , been there about 4-5 times always bloody freezing
I’m sure you’re not the first person I’ve heard say that you know I’ll pack an extra coat!

Wouldn't have begrudged him staying seeing as we're mid-table but great to see his commitment none the less (not that it was ever in question).

My annual away day is Stoke. Can't wait. I don't get to many (ST at the gate drains my footballing wallet) but I'm unbeaten on the road so far!

I think we’ve every chance at Euro 2024. If we have Stones, Bellingham, Rice, Kane, Saka all fit and firing there’s no reason we don’t go all the way. There’s other important players too of course but those 5 are elite.

Young players have shockers - nothing to see here I doubt. Taylor and Harrison are a nightmare at that level, they’ll give many centre-halves a shit afternoon.

Wonder if they’ll go in for Nagelsmann.
-
I hope we try some stuff over these coming games - use the remainder of this season as an extension of pre-season before a big promotion push next season.

So the refs didn't see it at the time... yet he was booked for it. Something doesn't quite add up there.

Good stuff, exciting to see where there careers take them (and us!).
I think one of the under 7's wrote this article mind. Good experience for the lad but it read horribly.

I really like this England group. I’ve got a really good feeling about there Euros next summer. Win tonight and that’s qualification almost wrapped up, this is the hardest game on paper by some way!

I went for Pope, Shaw and Guehi over Ramsdale, Chilwell and Tomori but otherwise that was my team.
My reaction looking through that list is that we urgently need a centre-back to start impressing from somewhere...
Centre-half is my concern as well. I almost put Maguire in (who I think gets a harsh deal) but Stones is our only top level CB.
I considered Pope but I need to see him overcome his jitters following his handball against Liverpool. He's made two more errors since that he was lucky weren't more catastrophic.

You saying Cam Pring has retired from international football by then?
Na allegiance switch. He's 1/4 Brazilian, Roberto Carlos is his Grandad.

Its bad luck, but obviously in football injuries will happen. Having said that,, anyone relying on kalas and williams to come in and give regular minutes is being pretty optimistic!
Yea there’s nothing worse than injury prone players. They come back and get 10 games and just as you’re getting excited it happens again. We’re seeing it a bit with James and Naismith too. It’s always the best bloody players!

We were good for 90% of each attacking move, very good at times. But wasteful as all hell in the last 10%. Deserved to win. I’m gonna think positive and say if we’re capable of playing that well with a thin, injury hit squad, things are looking very promising.
