Big gap or not, take none of the promoted sides for granted next season. We usually end up playing one on the opening weekend, I'm going off that as they're usually so fired up. I think I'd prefer a relegated team with their new squad before they can gather momentum.

My ideal QF’s would be Bayern beat Man City (the ‘can’t win the UCL’ storyline is funny), Inter and Milan beat Benfica and Napoli (Milan derby semi-final), Real beat Chelsea (soft spot for Madrid).

While I'm not frustrated by yesterday as it's a good performance and at this stage of the season, that's the priority, I get OP's general frustration. We do drop too many points from leading, we're division high in that regard I believe?

One change to the 18 means all of Bell, Conway and OTC came through Good Friday unscathed.
Wilson does lose his place, I’d be interested to know if that’s a knock or just competition. Odd if he can’t make the bench when young Leeson and Wood do.
Kal Naismith returns to the bench
Injured:Kalas
Atkinson
Williams
Benarous

Game of the season… for now. Man City Vs Arsenal is poised very nicely.

Phenomenal result Saturday, celebrating those two goals in that away end was an absolute delight. Zak Vyner is some man.
I’m not even too mad about the injuries which makes a change, it seemed to me all three subs had an injury question mark to them? OTC seemed to take a knock as did Bell, and Conway was withdrawn very suddenly too I thought. We‘ll assume just cramp or something for now and see if the three are back in the 18 tomorrow. Well in City and congrats Anis on your first of many ️

Maybe the best away end I’ve been in, almost got killed when we equalised and fwiw, been to a few pubs since with my dad and the Stoke locals are a delight. Had some good chats about the game and the history of our clubs. Funny really, we despised each other between 3 and 5

Same 18 as Reading but with Bell in from the start over Anis. Currently sat in the Britannia or Bet 365 or whatever it’s called now. Praying for a win and a jubilant away end!

There comes a time when you just have to applaud the commitment to the bit.
This thread is modern art.

May aswell have just keep Potter to be fair and seen if there was any signs at all of improvement , unless they honestly think Frank is the man to win the champions league
I think doing it this way, all parties know the deal. Sounding out other managers behind Potter’s back is problematic - if they lock in an Enrique deal then Potter wins 12 on the spin it gets messy. Lampard will know he’s a 15 game firefighter and even if he does do well I think he’ll accept the club bringing in an Enrique in the summer despite his good work.

I bumped into Scotty M when picking up my Stoke tickets at the ground earlier - made sure the Matty James injury was cramp which he confirmed such a friendly bloke, I wouldn’t bother most club employees but he seems to genuinely not mind a chat.

Just seeing them through to Summer - sensible imo. Steady the ship as they sort out Enrique or Nagelsmann.

17th feels a little harsh, but I suppose many of the players above him will be in their prime rather than 19.

I'd bloody love it to be Cardiff, it'd make my season. But with Reading now docked points there's lots of teams down there, I have a feeling they'll claw themselves over the line.

We won the Johnson's Paint Pot trophy, since when Spurs have been in the Champions League final.
That's a real leap of faith comparison.
Rather win the JPT than lose the UCL, 1 trophy to nil the point I was trying to make is it’s all very relative to the club. By our standards things are pretty rosy, whereas they’re having a nightmare. Of course they’re bigger and better than we are but they’re in a horrible moment. That’s all I was saying, no need to panic

Are we really comparing Spurs to ourselves? Bizarre.
It’s just a bit of fun. I wouldn’t sweat it too much.

Errr. Let me think …
Do you really think that? I'm a bit surprised! We're mid-table in the second tier and on the up, in terms of City historically we're doing pretty well. Spurs are a supposed 'big 6' team that are this countries laughing stock for their weak mentality and ability to throw away all good things in record time, and can't win a trophy for love nor money. We've lifted silveware more recently than them! I know which I'd rather support

Very enjoyable Monday night of entertainment. Name me a more painful club to support than Spurs. Everything goes tits up.

I rang today and they said couldn’t post now , so I’ve gotta collect from Stoke ticket office
When did you order mate? I ordered weeks ago - I’m thinking somethings amiss.

I agree with the champagne moment. For me it was “oh dear, we’ve lost Semenyo. Oh well, never mind, here’s another one off the production line!”
Yea I remember thinking the same. Of course he's not Semenyo yet, but I think he showed how high his ceiling is with that performance. He's probably our youngster I'm currently most excited about (a certain young midfielder aside).

Nige upstairs with his feet up after his excellent job steadying the ship - Potter or Rodgers in the dugout

When do posted tickets arrive? Feels a little late this!

Cramp due to the heavy pitch apparently.
Shouldn't be a problem, but as ever with City injuries, we'll see.
Ah ok - that’s a relief. Pinch of salt as you say, but promising.

Anyone heard anything? Looked pretty bad yesterday the way he pulled up, immediately held his hamstring (?), then signalled to the bench. Assuming he’s back on the sidelines, along with Scott, Kal and Williams, that leaves us with King, Taylor-Clarke, hopes and prayers as our midfield for the Easter weekend!

Would’ve liked to see the Gate picked to represent Bristol - but the UK has some incredible grounds so no shock by any means. Fingers crossed our bid wins!
