He’s done a great job there. Probably raised expectations too high last season.
Their 2nd highest ever finish apparently in what was a very big ask to even keep them in L1.
Thought his post match comments were quite apt before he went:
When arguing he was still the best person for the job, Elliott made a perfectly valid point after the defeat at Peterborough, saying: "This club at this level is always going to go through sticky periods.
"People might not want to hear that, but that is the truth, we are always swimming against the tide.
"If you think someone else is going to come in, click their fingers and all of a sudden we're going to transform into a top team in this division, then I think we're all kidding ourselves."

Is the man baby still not doing interviews if the Bristol post are in attendance. What a delicate little flower
Strange isn't it that he starts his subscription based content on Twitter around the same time that he stops giving interviews to the local press. The only people interested in hearing from him are Rovers supporters, the national press and other football fans up and down the country couldn't give a shit.

Chris Martin training with them, currently a free agent.

Not sure what to make of that half. Certainly didn't feel like a typical Champ game. As much as i'd like us to score another 3 i'd settle for 3-1 FT. Can't see it being as open as that 2nd half.

Not beaten them since the 1950s, what a result. Enjoyed that one.

So, cash in the bank from a record sale, wage budget curbed, manager with only months left on his contract and now CEO gone...sale/new ownership imminent or just one big omnishables?

Could just make it the uncovered end again. That would reduce away attendances and sort the noise levels out!

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned before.
Not all in Caps and Italic though Rob, it might gain traction this time.

£2.2 m ? I thought it was barely 1 mill , have I missed something (like the sags did ) ?
Guess it would have included his lucrative 3 year deal. Probably would of been their highest ever earner as well, hence it was never going to happen in the first place. All a ruse if you ask me.

Blimey had completely forgotten about the whole Severnside site.
What were the reasons for it not going ahead in the end?

Stadium announcer just gave him MOM. Not surprised, had an industrious game and shown plenty of class with the ball.
Over both games he's played well and been one of Irelands best performers.

Good showing from him so far tonight.

Henderson and Maguire start. Guehi in at CB.

Measuring the length of the grass is the equivalent to telling a load of eastern-bloc swimming coaches in the 1970s that Mark Spitz’s success was down to his moustache and the reduced drag-effect it had on him. Wow. Revolutionary. At the next international competition all his opponents turned up with moustaches, only for the coach to tell them he’d made it up!
Duncan Goodhew sparked a trend for swimming caps after Olympic Gold!

Played the full 90 on the left of a front/midfield 3. Worked hard in a game where Ireland were 2nd best for long spells. Didn't appear to pick up any knocks.

Not if you've got Adblocker!
And in this day and age, why wouldn't you?
I use NoScript, bit more advanced as you can block various components but let the actual stream through. Run it along side UBlock and the internet is a much better place!

If anyone fancies seeing how he gets on...

Cult hero for sure. No other player quite like him. Built like a bookcase from the waist up, feet like a ballerina.

It's all about perspective and I think the longer you've followed the more likely you are to have a broader outlook on things.
I started in 85 so have seen us up and down between the 2nd and 3rd divisions a few times and trips to Wembley old and new, plus Cardiff in-between.
Would love to see us play top flight football one day but agree this period should not be taken for granted. We've spent far too many years in the league below for my liking.

The Mrs was impressed they got his name to fit on the back of his shirt.
Understandably looked like a guy late to the party and lacking some fitness and sharpness but lots of signs there is more to come from him. Think he'll show his worth as the season goes on.
