Apparently they have a top 6 budget this season. Blackburn have just spent 750k on Dack and brought in Gladwin on an undisclosed deal. Rovers won't even get close to spending half that much in total. Some of them take the piss out of us for spending big money. Well it should serve as yet another wake up call of how far behind they are and I don't mean us specifically. £5m is a relatively small figure in the current climate and just goes to show how much the gulf is widening season on season between the leagues.

Cheers Kid. All in all then, any options open to them require a bucket load of cash to be invested out of someone's pocket. Can't see it happening from the current owners from what they have invested so far. I think their best bet is some sort of medium term phased development of The Mem, work it one side/end at a time. Still got to find some wedge for that though but it would be a step in the right direction. Would save a few quid on the demolition costs of the current patch though. Most of the 'stadia' can be taken down in a day and popped on the back of a van.

Exactly. They should be in some sort of planning stage now around the works starting, the logistics of that etc, not in discussions surely. I don't remember the details of our own timeline to the AG rebuild but i think it's fair to say 6 months away from the work starting, you would expect that all the I's were dotted and the T's crossed.

6 months away from the deadline for work to start and you're still 'in discussions' with UWE? That doesn't sound right to me. How long are their construction contracts in place for/have they been in place for? Just can't see how this can all be sorted in such a short space of time.
