I’ve seen some on twitter have had issues presumably because they either did split ticketing or booked using the train line
With split ticketing obviously you’re taking a risk but with train line people don’t realise they add their own fees and charges (including for delay repay) which booking direct with the operator doesn’t do

Jesus Christ yesterday I tapped my bank card once for the barriers to open as didn’t have a London travel ticket, once in Liverpool Street, from Paddington rest of the time the barriers were up, got charged £15.50 looking at my bank, caaaaaants
If you log into https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/contactless-and-oyster-account and create an account and add your bank card you may be able to manually enter leaving the system at Stratford and get a partial refund. Has worked for me in the past

It's interesting reading the comments under the BBC match reports. A lot of hammers fans clearly hating Moyes. Seems crazy a European trophy last 16 of UEFA and 6th in the Prem. Not sure what more they want/expect - presumably about the quality of football?
The mythical ‘West Ham Way’ they spouted when Allardyce was in charge. Problem is when they have a more expansive manager they look like going down

Total crowd of around 62k. There is probably going to be about 1.5-2k affected.
I can't see it being delayed. Just a lot of people missing most of the first half.
Went to London Stadium in the summer for MLB. I reckon it'll take around 30 mins from the Elizabeth line stop at Stratford to walk to the ground.
Very busy shopping centre there as well.
A tip from a local, get the dlr from Stratford to pudding mill lane
Its the closest station to the away end, a 5-10 minute walk max

Just now, Sir Geoff said:
Make sure each and every one of you claims compensation for your delays.
Delay repay is 50% back if 60 minutes late and 100% back if 120 minutes late

Taunton train held at Castle Cary, hearing Bristol trains are held at Westbury
Things are moving but due to a points failure Bristol trains are having to go into Westbury and change ends which is a little time consuming

We are....heading for Reading
Don’t forget to claim delay repay, over 60 minutes late you get 50% back over 120 minutes late you get 100% back

Now saying lines are flooded on this train
if you planned on getting train and aren't on it yet don't would be my advice
I flagged it on the other thread yesterday although am surprised they seem to have gone for a hope for the best attitude rather than having some sort of plan in place

Not sure where the flooding is but trainline shows that trains from Bristol to Paddington this morning are getting there.
Flooding is on the diversion route due to be used tomorrow
Also I’d never trust what trainline says, they try to sell tickets for trains that don’t exist.

Plan B for me already due to issues between Westbury and Reading which sound like they won’t be resolved until later tomorrow.
Tivi to BTM and then to Paddington - GWR expecting issues today but hoping things are back to normal for tomorrow
Just hope my change of plan doesn’t backfire on me!
The point being that as things stand there’s no route open tomorrow between Bristol and London unless either the flooding subsides or the engineering work is cancelled

Yeah, no more rain forecast so should dry up and if there’s no damage to lines should be fine.
It’s the lack of information that annoys me, how bad are things? Is the water reducing at a quick enough rate? Is there any damage to the lines?
I don’t want to hear 30 minutes before it’s due that my train is cancelled. The other problem is every weekend here there’s a train to London cancelled due to lack of staff. The whole system is shambolic atm.
Line between Westbury and Reading is still closed today, with the line between Swindon and Reading due to be closed for engineering work tomorrow some decisions might need to be taken later on today

What I don't get
It is the 3rd round of the FA Cup
Some games will have VAR some won't That is not right
Should be ALL games or None
What’s even more absurd is Sundays game will have VAR but if it goes to a replay there won’t be

I don’t understand the whining about newcastles allocation given it’s the tournament rules, I’m sure if they’d been drawn away they’d be demanding that

It literally says this on that link
No other TfL services will be on strike but some bus, DLR, London Overground and Elizabeth line services will be busier and affected by station closures where stations also serve London Underground lines. One-way or queueing systems may also be in place.
Worth noting Stratford station is managed by London Underground

If there’s engineering works then there should be rail replacement buses operating. Although they are vulnerable to the shortage of bus and coach drivers currently

I might drive to Westfield Stratford if the rail service is going to be dodgy, I was planning on driving to Reading then getting the Elizabeth line the rest of the way, but the TFL journey planner isn’t offering that as an option.
It appears most of the Lizzy line service serving Stratford start from Paddington that day. Your original plan would still work you’d just need to change at Paddington
If you’d like more train information check out realtime trains
As for driving, I’ve driven Bristol to that part of east London more times than I care to remember, the quickest route is via the M25, M11 and A13 and can easily take 90 minutes from when you turn onto the M25 and that’s with a clear run

RMT have called UNDERGROUND strikes starting on Friday 5th January.
This should not effect the main line trains heading into London Paddington
It could/might effect the journey from Paddington to Stratford.
Not sure how easy it is to get across London using the bus or maybe a taxi ride
The london based boys would have a better idea
Its a ten mile, one hour duration if you go across London by taxi not sure of the cost though
As i have stated if your going by train, get them reservations in early
Don't forget there is extended journeys times as the trains are being diverted via Westbury(Wilts) and newbury
Bus 205 goes from Paddington to Bow Church via most mainline terminus north of the river. From there the DLR is one stop to pudding mill lane which is the closest station to the away end

Genuine question for those who want them to sell up, is there anyone actually out there you’d want to buy us and take us forward?
As for what I’d like, just square pegs in square holes, it’s pretty clear that Pearson’s sacking wasn’t for footballing reasons and yet we have a seemingly over promoted chairman and technical director in positions of influence making that less and less likely

Is a brave move as Stoke have got a reputation as a managerial graveyard last few years, but it is closer to home for him
